Absolutely right! I have noticed a trend in 2x2 hardware being the best on the market for many years. First it was the Old Plastic DaYan, then it was the Valk 2, then the 251 Pro. I wonder what’s next!
@@RamThakkar I was absolutely idle for during the summers but there wasn't a comp near me and now when I am totally busy, all of a sudden there are 2 comps...I wish to go but studies won't allow me enough time for the comps now Hopefully next year, I'll be back to comps!
Thanks, you inspired me to practice 2x2 today and yesterday I got my first sub 2 averages so thanks, I am currently using the gan but two corner to core magnets broke Round one: 1.96 Ao5 Finals: 1.93 Ao5 (counting 2.5 💀)
Huge congratulations on the first sub-2 average(s)! It’s okay about the counting 2.5, I think it’s just proof that you can destroy the sub 1.7/1.6 barrier soon :) keep practicing. I don’t think the missing corner core mags would make a huge difference on the 251 Pro but correct me if I’m wrong 😅
@@RamThakkar thanks. It doesn’t affect that much just that the magnetic feel is a little bit different on that layer but still a top cube. lol I have broken 3 Mgc elite.
(Gan main) I've never properly tried the mgc elite although I would be willing to try but I believe because of my turning style that the Gan is better. Nic Vid as usual Ram!
I’m a 1.8-1.9 solver and personally I think the gan is better just cos it’s a bit faster than the elite and imo if u get used to it you can be pretty consistent on it in my experience I have used the gan to get my 1.78 PR average and the gan will probably stay as my main for a while

Hey Ram, I average around 5-7 seconds with the MGC Elite ( I’m pretty bad). I use Ortega. I just wanted to ask how loose the cube should be and if I should start learning CLL. Thanks for giving me so much motivation in 2x2. Thank you and love from Canada! Edit: One of my friends uses the GAN 251 M Pro and I think it’s good but like the feel and turning of the Elite more. I put Stardust to make it fast and Lunar for more control and it is very smooth because of that.
Thank you so much for the kind words! 😀 I think your tensions should be as loose to the point where you can control the cube without it constantly exploding. This varies for everyone! As for learning CLL, you should do this after you average around mid 4 seconds with Ortega, which you will soon! Stardust and Lunar in the Elite works great too, I used it once and it did wonders! Might try it again.
Hey Ram, What do you think of the yj yupo? I main the 15 dollar one and it’s insane, no lock-ups, great turning, great corner cutting and adjustable magnet strength! But if I continue to main 2x2 I might get one of these 2, awsome vid btw

Haha fair, yeah the OG MGC had a lot of corner twisting issues :( the Elite still corner twists on my tensions unfortunately but it's not nearly as bad.
I own the Mgc 2 elite for a bit more than a month now. I hear a lot of good thing about it but I have the feeling that mine is just not as good. It has serious problems of lockups and that ruins most of my solves. I've already loosened it, used lubes, if you have more tips please help 😄
You're right, it was not loose enough. I also replaced the springs with the weaker ones, now it's way better. Thanks a lot for the advice, I finally can say it's the best 2x2 😂
Honestly I like it more than the 251 Pro 😂 but this is definitely not the case for everyone. That being said, 100% the best budget 2x2 on the market in my eyes atm
The Valk is a great cube, it’s much heavier than the MGC Elite and slower. If you like very controllable cubes then it’s probably still the best one. If you can, try a few 2x2s at a comp and see if any of them are better than your Valk and upgrade if you think it’s necessary.
@Tomergl haha very different. The GAN is quite light and fast while the Valk is very heavy and controllable. It will be a nice refresher of a cube but you’ll have to get used to it :)

When you think of it, the mgc elite is from 2020 and 251 pro is from 2021. They stand the test of time and both are great cubes without a doubt.

i main the elite cuz it doesnt corner twist at loose tensions. personally i still prefer the normal mgc lol but the corner twist is so often

Haha I think after setup it’s a completely different cube, much much better! Still, the GAN is very solid and quite a safe cube.

Oh no, I have no idea what could be the issue. Is yours too tight by any chance? It needs to rlly be quite loose to use it well.

I think after a lot of use I have noticed some scratches on my other GAN 251 Pro but it’s really a lot of solves.
