We flew in from OZ to my mums funeral and our son had Covid he had moved from Auckland to Upper HUtt, after the funeral we stayed with him and our daughterinlaw and grandchildren, I had a appointment in Wellington CBD, and he said take his vehicle, I said no we going by train, what a beautiful scenery, clean trains and station it was a pleasure.
I haven't travelled this line before. I've only travelled the Hutt Valley, Kapiti and Wairarapa lines. I would like to try the Johnsonville line one day
Only had the time to go on the J'ville line 3 or 4 times.. it's a "cute" little line, especially the climbing up from sea level, the twisty tracks and the little tunnels.. it's like going up to another world...sort of. The WRL line is worth the trip, especially the section on the north side of the 8.2 km tunnel... you just cruise along, anything from 50--even 80 km/hr . Do it in the next 6 months while the fares are half price.
Thank you for this video..
We just arrived in Wellington and staying near this station. We will try this journey
