I knew back then that they are going to Go up and become big. But they keep on exceeding my expectations! These challenges made them who they are now…Soar higher and higher. “Paa sa lupa, mata sa langit!” 🙌
If i could go back in time, i would definitely choose the GO UP PRESSCON.. i want them to feel na may mga taong naninowala sa kanila at sisigaw ako ng malakas to cheer them up.
As a millennial and former K-pop fan, I can confidently say SB19 truly paved the way for P-pop. I've been a K-pop fan since the Wonder Girls era, and at one point, I was even a basher of SB19 during their "Go Up" era. Pero things changed when I heard them sa interview. Nag iba pananaw ko na akala ko KPop wannabes lang sila. I even hated those interviewers na namahiya sa kanila particularly kay Stell. Even if I was a basher pero di ko ma-take ang pambabatikos sa ila especially sa interview. It’s amusing to see younger generations now claiming other groups opened the doors for P-pop. As a millennial and a long-time K-pop fan myself, I can confidently say SB19 were the ones who truly broke barriers. They were the FIRST to DOMINATE globally and TIRELESSLY and PASSIONATELY campaigned for OPM to penetrate the international scene. Watch those video interviews of Pablo. You’ll appreciate SB19 even more when you watch their interviews with Robi Domingo, especially when Pablo shared his dream of uplifting the economy of the Philippines through OPM, similar to how Korea did with K-pop. I became an instant fan after hearing “MAPA" especially when I became a mother. That song deeply resonated with me and made me appreciate OPM even more. I realized how beautiful Filipino music truly is. That’s when I fell in love with SB19! Totoo nga na once you go down the SB19 rabbit hole, it’s hard to get out. They’re genuinely kind, authentic, talented, and more pa sa lista. Whenever I read criticisms from younger fans or other generations, I just laugh (sobrang nakakatawa). It’s funny kasi nga I’ve experienced it all-being a fan of Wonder Girls, Big Bang, SNSD, BoA, Rain, and many other Korean artists who made it big in the Philippines. I witnessed firsthand how SB19 successfully converted diehard K-pop fans, and even Western music fans, into P-pop lovers.

I would want to go to the Mall Show because I can see how much they love their craft. There were only a handful of people watching them yet they were giving their 100%. Each time I see that video clip, I feel goosebumps. It shows how talented they are dedicated in what they're doing. They deserve everything their experiencing right now, not only as a group but their individual careers as well. I personally don't know any other band whose members have gone solo while they're still together. And, all of their solo careers are thriving as well. I'm no longer an OT5, I'm an OT6, because I stan SB19, PABLO, Josh Cullen, Stell, FELIP, and justin!

I'd like to tell Mahalima that although this happened, it's an important event that will help them define who they are as individuals, a group, and as men. As much as it upsets me every time I see this interview, it makes me proud as an A'tin that our Mahalima passed it with flying colors if it was a test. They showed bravery, unflinching, courage, professionalism, and most of all, heart. My earliest memorable discovery of Sb19 was probably around 2019 from their Wishbus performance of Tilaluha.
