I love the clear acrylic primer by 'Art Spectrum's it's fabulously matte without being gritty 👍 If you paint oil on paper without a primer the oil will saturate the paper and leave the pigment on the surface, thick paint will flake and the oil will gradually rot the paper over a few years. Not advised ☺️
