      Glad I could help! I really went into this blindly which is kind of good. LOL I just had to find out what all of the hype was about. To be honest, I use the inks but not as often as I thought I would. They have their pros and cons but everything does.

    When I first received my minis I thought they didn’t match their lids at all. I swinked each ink and glued a small piece on top. When I looked at the swatches much, much later (a month) they matched perfectly. TFS

    I've been hearing so much about the CP inks. I have original Stamping' Up! ink pads (I've been stamping for 20+ years). I have all the Oxides and love them for ink blending but looking for good dye inks. I am scouring RUclips for comparisons so your video was very helpful. I think I need to revisit what I have before buying more.

      I am so glad it was helpful. I don’t watch Catherine and so I bought them as an uninformed crafter trying new inks. I thought others might appreciate the unbiased first impressions. I will say that I was given a set of the Scrapbook.com inks and they are lovely. I am not a big fan of inks that have to even out. I like to see what I am working with right away. Some dye ink’s require a waiting period to see them smooth out. The Ranger Archival inks are beautiful, bold, and long lasting. I absolutely adore my oxides for most projects. Good luck on your search. 💕🌈📄🙌✂️🤣

      @@BittyPenny More good info. Thank you. I went through my SU ink pads yesterday and had to toss a bunch. Only 3 of the colors I have are still available, which made me laugh. I've heard good things about Ranger. I'm with you, I don't want to wait for colors to even out because sometimes they don't. It's the instant gratification thing.

      I honestly don’t use them too often. I haven’t had to trunk them, but I think that has to do with not using them. They are super juicy at first though. 📄✂️🌈💕

    I really appreciate this demonstration. I have also been hearing a lot about these particular inks, and I was particularly interested in them for embossing purposes. They do look like very good, juicy pads though, so I may buy one or two individual pads for the stampings aspect since you’ve shown how well they stamp. Then I can go from there and decide if I want a bigger collection. Thank you SO much!

      Hi Becky, I am so glad you enjoyed it. I was completely new to the inks. I didn’t watch a bunch of videos or dive deep. I just wanted to try them out. I am really impressed with their detail and saturation. Sorry, I can’t recommend them for embossing based on my attempts. I know people say you have to go super fast to make it work, but I would just rather not. Lol. I am enjoying their ability to blend and the water reactive aspect. I liked them enough to buy a set of full size pads with re-inkers. So yeah, overall I am a fan. 🤣🙌💕😂

      @@BittyPenny I certainly understand about not wanting to go fast, especially when embossing. I have a hard enough time with it going slow! As my sainted mother used to say, “I don’t do fast.” I guess I’m a chip off the old block! LOL! 😂 Thanks again! 💝

    Penny, very honest, thorough review. I like how the CP inks stamp an image. Very clear and detailed, which is what I want from an ink pad. Pity about some colours not matching the colour represented on the lid. How amazing would that Sea Foam ink have been if it stamped that colour? I am not an expert on embossing at all but I saw a video on the CP WOW embossing powder and it turned out really fantastic. I wonder if the embossing they mention is to do with her embossing powder? God bless. Hugs🤗💖

    They do heat emboss but you have to have everything ready immediately. I bought the entire collection of the large ink pads and refills on Black Friday last year. They came with printed on top labels like the mini’s. They recently made sticker labels for the full size ink pads that show a true color. It’s so much better than the printed on lid color. I would suggest watching some of Catherine’s lives. Then you can see some of the property’s in action. Thanks for sharing!

    Great review! I've fallen in love with them for solid easy stamping with stamp blocks. I don't always want to use my stamp platform.
    I have swore off ink cubes as well. It takes forever to in up larger stamps with them. Drives me nuts. But I'll use the ones I have until they run out of ink.
    It stinks to have to shop online for coloured products. I'm trying to pick a green CP ink or two and I just can't put my finger on which one based in people's swatches on the internet. Frustrating for sure.

    I appreciate your review, though i think since these are dye inks, the process to emboss should be speeded up. Like have the ep ready with the top off, and right at hand and pour immediately and maybe it would work a little better. But we all know that ordinarily dye inks aren’t for embossing.
    I’m glad you did this video because I’ve been intrigued by these inks... you have helped me make a decision. 😊

Hope your having a fun and crafty weekend.

  • @debbiehaney8996
    @debbiehaney8996 3 года назад +2

    I think you are still pretty slow in your “speeded up” version of embossing. When I watch Catherine emboss with the ink (often and with great success), she has her jar already opened and is applying the embossing powder in about a second when the ink is still wet. She gets beautiful results every time. I haven’t tried embossing with the inks yet, but because it is a dye ink that is designed to immediately soak into the card stock, I think you are too slow in getting the powder onto your inked image. I’m a huge CP ink fan, but I agree that the embossing bullet on packaging might benefit from some indication of how quickly you have to work if embossing with the ink. I also stamp off once when I want a really soft color, especially when my pads are new or freshly re-inked. Enjoyed seeing your review.

    • @BittyPenny
      @BittyPenny  3 года назад

      Hi Debbie, It was a raw unadulterated first impressions kind of approach. I just wanted to try the inks out without any “influence”. Lol. I tried to give people a fair out of the box experience. Kind of like when we impulse purchase and then figure things out. I didn’t even know the bullet points on the packaging it was all new to me. I definitely wouldn’t pick a dye ink to emboss with, but it said it so I went for it. I just wouldn’t complicate the process to use that ink. What I might do is use a positioning tool so I could stamp with CP and then with an embossing ink on top. Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. I do like the inks. I have since purchased the date night collection and re-inkers. I feel blessed to have it in my stamping arsenal. I have never watched CP until the other day. It’s nice that she demos. 🌈💕📄✂️🌈

    I emboss ALOT and know you don't use a dye pad to emboss - even if the manufacturer says you can. The ink dries too quickly. The pigment pad you used for comparison did so much better. That's because pigment ink is designed for that purpose. You are comparing apples and oranges. Just want beginning stampers to know that.

      Yes, absolutely this true. I just wanted to test them according to the marketing and packaging. You’re right though, dye inks are not for embossing. That is why I had to give these a try. 📄✂️💕🙌
