This is a great way to protect your dog after surgery! This product was sent to us in return for our honest review. Most dogs are not a big fan of e-collars (show a dog with an e-collar on), and sometimes a surgical suit will actually work out better! So what is a surgical suit? Well it’s a breathable shirt that you put on your dog. These work great when your dog has an incision or something that isn’t on their legs or paws (as they can still reach those). I use them after our dogs get fixed, and it was so much better than an e-collar. They are also great if you have a dog that is licking too much and causing issues. Basically these surgical suits protect the areas that you don’t want them to bother. I love that they allow a dog to move freely, and they seem much less stressed when wearing these than when they do a cone.
My favorite feature of this surgical suit is the roll up belly flap! This makes it so you don’t have to take the entire thing off when your dog needs to go outside, or if you need to put medication on their wounds. Roll it up, let them do their thing, roll it back and snap it back together.
Now again, if your dog has a wound on its face, legs or paws, you are still going to need a standard cone, but this works in a lot of scenarios! And yes, it’s machine washable, and dryer safe on a low heat cycle!
This particular suit is a size large, and Eleanor is 42 pounds, and it’s a pretty good fit. Make sure to measure to ensure a proper fit!
