Hello TriAngulum. The Terraforming of Venus probably inspired Scientists like Carroll Marcus (the mother of Kirk's son), to create the ultimate Terraforming device, the Genesis Device.
Mars, Venus and perhaps Europa ! As for the rest of the Solar System. Might be difficult. You'd need something like the Genesis Device. However!! Avoid Protomatter.
Great video. It shows both your creativity and and your unconditional love of Star Trek. I would love to see your take on the rest of the solar system.
Before terraform 🥵 after 😎 I like this type of video. Since Riker mentioned in first contact that earth's moon had 50 million people living on it and a lake Armstrong I had wondered if/how it was terraformed and he's says that the moon looks a lot different than it does now.
The moon has always the looked the same as today whenever it appears in Star Trek. Maybe there is a big dome over the lake. Perhaps with a park built near the historic Apollo landing site.
Stanley: The Moon was probably not 'terraformed', since it only has 1/6th G, and rotates only once every 28.5 days. So the Moon would still have domed cities, towns, and other sites. The Moon's major export would be 'Rare Earth' elements, since they are plentiful there. Iron and the other heavier elements are much, much rarer on the Moon. Thus, most construction would use Aluminum, and Lithium instead. 'Lake Armstrong' was probably a large crater, which had been extensively mined, domed over, and any cracks in its surface sealed, before water was introduced. Living areas along the edge of the crater would be highly prized. Another thing NOT mentioned would be that the Moon would be mostly populated by the highest percentage of older people. The 1/6th G would be much less stressful on their aging bodies and allow them to live several decades more, than if they had lived in a higher G environment. Swimming and Boating would be 'easier' on the Moon, again due to the light gravity. It would be much harder to 'sink' in water due to the lighter G, and the buoyancy of the Human body would tend to keep one on or near the surface, like swimming in the Dead Sea (where the high salt content does the same thing). Bio-Mechanical flight suits would be popular there as well, due to the light gravity. Allowing one to become a 'bird', or more likely, a bat.
There was an episode of DS9 where Jake was talking to a cadet who lived on the moon. She said that she had to put on a space suit to watch the rise once a month. That implies the cities are earthlike, but the rest on the moon is still unchanged.
Well that's kinda my point. he just says people live on it no real elaboration. I don't know if in expanded media they've ever gone into detail that triAngulum can find out or something
What a interesting topic!i am happy to say it would be very interesting to see more videos on this topic!well done for thinking for a great topic and delivering a yet again great video!!
Omg! This was AWESOME! GREAT VIDEO! YES! Please do more if you can! I enjoy your video's very much! You are very talented. And could you do any on not just sector 001 but also Vulcan and other ALPHA and BETA sector planets?
Great video…please continue this trend. A lot of the ways mentioned in the video was also mentioned in the Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology book that came out in the early 80s.
Great idea, please continue making more of these. Perhaps when you are done with the Sol system you could move on to other systems in the Alpha Quadrant please? Thank you for everything you do, your videos are always something to look forward to!
I really really enjoyed this episode, you dont really ever see or hear anything about this kind of stuff in any of the Treks.. It would make a great story or movie... Keep up the excellent work 👏...
This isnt a critique, just a thankyou really, I finally figured out which movie the music you have in this video reminded me of, a movie back in my childhood: Dragon The Bruce Lee Story. 10 years old when that was released on VHS and remember watching it with my grandparents and mother one rainy sunday afternoon, after Sunday dinner of course. A few weeks ago I myself was looking between the various content of the Sol System in Trek and the various planets and installations out solar system has in the future of Trek. What I love about your videos is you deep level analysis (in my mind) of both alpha and beta content of something in Trek and as you say make it your own with that sprinkle of star dust along the way. Never fret abaout the way you do videos, doing something different is always good, it add variety to your presenting style too and I would definitely love for you to go ahead with the Solar System in Trek, I honestly enjoyed this one (and yes its been a while since I commented on a video, not because I didn't want to or anything was wrong, just that I had no questions or anything to make a comment). Absolutely amazing work as always sir, stay amazing, Peace and Long Life.
I was pleasantly surprised that you didn't start with something OBVIOUS like Luna or Mars. The choice to do Venus first & the way you handled it, showcases a lot more potential for the rest of Sector 001 than it would have had you gone with a safer route such as Luna or Mars. I appreciate that, & would indeed like to see more.
Fits nicely with a story I'm working on involving an old impulse cruiser sent to Venus in the 2040s to begin teraforming, although other things happen to take them away from that project.
Great imagination with this one. I think that if Gene Roddenberry came back and watched your videos, this would get a thumbs up from him. It captures the spirit of exploration and advancement of humanity that he so championed so well.
When making this video I researched that idea as a step forward to terraforming, but to me, it didn't make sense to build them when they would be bombarding the surface with asteroids :)
That's true. I do like the idea of using asteroids to increase the density of a planet enough to make it more habitable. But, yes, I liked this video and the idea behind it.
I think it was good to know the process took quite some time to come to fruitation as a lot of things could go wrong. Aside from Mars, I think Titan may be a target for human habitation too but dealing with the methane atmosphere and seas would be very challenging. Europa doesn't even have much of an atmosphere to work with as well as the radiation from Jupiter. I like seeing ideas of a built up solar system as we get very little information about in canon.
First....also Great video I always wondered on how they worked around the yard of the Sol system. Plz continue I would like to see/hear about the rest of the system.
Back in the 1970's, NASA was talking about sending rockets with blue green algae to dump in the atmosphere. It was thought it was that it would change the CO2 atmosphere into one with a much higher O2 atmosphere.
Thanks Doug, I didnt miss it though, it just simply wasnt important to the story... LOL You should see my scripts I write, they are about twice the length of the videos, with me rambling on and on about things... I cut them down while editing to keep them short and sweet and far more interesting! :)
I admit, I'm enamored with the aerostat and floating city possibilities in colonizing Venus. They're possible due to the density of Venus's natural atmosphere and that a breathable nitrogen/oxygen atmosphere would be a lifting gas. They could even be carried by the wind, which would shorten the day/night cycle: Venus's is about 5832 hours. Maybe as an intermediary step? But then that might create an entrenched society and culture.
Hmm! Very true in regards to Earth and in our current technology. Not doable. That would require time. But it would not be easy. But I do have some optimism for that. Who knows?
In my opinion; Terraforming, especially the planets and moons within our Sol System; are equally as important as Warp Drive, Pattern-Replication ( Replicators and Transporters ) in terms of development.

@@TriAngulumAudioStudios I take it you'll do Mars and the history of utopia planita and the San Francisco shipyards? Did you. Ever do one for spacedock?
Where even in beta canon did they mention Venus being terraformed, I wonder? It does seem kind of doable if a longer term effort at least before matter synthesizers, but I think in canon they only ever mentioned research stations there. (In my own fan etc writings I did populate the Jovian sub- system with some kinda regional culture based on orbital stations and settlements on the outer Galilean moons, a little like the general idea of Belters but better tech caught on Star Trek timewise . I don't know if any beta stuff ever went with that kind of idea either.)
I always enjoy the vids, and the concept of terraforming as seen in universe is always interesting… …my only niggle is hearing the summary saying how the project was so as to preserve humanity and protect it from catastrophe…….negative me thinks “how is that gonna help is the star destabilises and blows…?

This is interesting cause there's a lot things that needs to be addressed with each planet outside of earth
Ohhhhh yesssss!
Love this. The saturn moons would be great for the next one
Great suggestion! And they are on my to do list!
At least the Star Trek universe has a back up copy of Earth.
Absolutely! :)
Too bad it's in the same solar system as earth. If anything happens to the sun, its still over for humanity.
That isnt really true, as there are 100s of human colonies out in deep space!
Great video. It shows both your creativity and and your unconditional love of Star Trek. I would love to see your take on the rest of the solar system.
