Thank you for sharing your knowledge . I have one doubt. Today I called one of the private bank to ask their LC charges. They said I will have to open an FD account with them against which they can give LC. My doubt is, is it mandatory to have FD with the bank for LC. Is there a way by which I can just get an LC?

Hi Sachin. You can either book an FD, open an FD account or plan to mortgage assets to establish an LC.
An FD remains the best in most cases, since you need valuations to be done if you mortgage assets like gold or any properties from time to time, every time you need to open an LC. Spend less!
