Love Moebius, one of my very favourite artists. Some of his work is so hard to find but Humanoids seems pretty committed keeping Incal in print, or at least rereleasing it in different formats/versions every year or two. This is an interesting format to choose. It feels almost like an Artist Edition, which I love, however I don't know if I want to read a 300 page scifi epic in that format. My version is maybe 10 years old but seems fairly similar, besides the cover, to the colour version in the side by side comparisons. I'd definitely recommend the Incal for anyone who has never read it. Jodorowsky is a unique and trippy writer, full of world building ideas and concepts. It's difficult to think of a comparison but if you love something like The Fifth Element then this is definitely highly recommended.
Moebius is Moebius, coloured or black and white... truth to be told... the art of Moebius stands out in black and white at the same level like the coloured versions!!! not many artist were able to cause this impact on the readers or art appreciators like Moebius was able to do!!!
Actually the second color version of L'Incal by Valérie Beltran is so disgusting she managed to make me hate this comic for 15+ years until I discover the original colors. Everything has this cheap photoshop glow its so bad it should be a crime. Im glad the original coloring is the one being printed nowadays.
Omar, when are you going to do a review of SSoC Omnibus vol. 8? Can't wait. Great book by the way this black and white Incal book. Keep up the good work.
Moebius's artwork is epic but I think adding grey tones (something delicate, like on backgrounds, to make the characters pop) would be a great addition. haha. a little manga style... I don't know. but hell yeah this is so good! I have the color version and is my all-time treasure.
Hey Omar, unrelated to this title I know, but I've found a retailer who claims Savage Sword of Conan omnibus volume 2-4 are receiving a final printing run on the 14th October. Does this sound realistic to you or do you think they're pulling my leg!? Please help me, by Crom.
I have The Incal Classic hardcover, and I have to say the colour much better than the B&W. I've not got anything against B&W art but in this instance I felt the B&W is just too flat. Almost like it was drawn specifically to be coloured.
Hey Omar, you’re an inspiration, thanks for your hard work . From my understanding they are also releasing a Deluxe slip-case hardcover of the Incal this year in November. But now I’m confused why they are doing another in 2023 (you mention in video) . Am I confused? Are these the same thing? Seems weird, need professional opinion, thank you
Question so I’m starting to get into Batman and starting my collection . My question what better the get Scott Snyder Batman or the eternal omnibus ? Since eternal is in the Snyder omnibus . What’s your opinion?
umm, did i hear that correctly at 2:25 Omar? They are reprinting a special edition NUMBERED slipcase of the incal that was limited to 1500 copies? How in the world does that make sense? New prints numbered 1501 - 3000? If so they do a mis-service to anyone who bought the original thinking it was a limited print and devalue their (my) copies no doubt. Please correct me if i misheard or you mispoke.
Moebius is such a good artist, hopefully blueberry gets a something like this
( I can’t find a copy in English)
I feel bad that I have never heard of this. However this overview has got me interested. Thanks, Omar.
I like the black and white version better
I picked up copy of The Incal (regular hardcover color edition) based on your recommendation. Thank you Uncanny Omar! 🙏

Will this ever be released in Paperback? It's unnecessarily expensive for what it is lol
Thanks. Now I definitely know I don’t need the black and white edition
comment for the algorithm. I gotta buy the base deluxe or tpb of this to read it for the first time

I am fascinated by L'Incal. I want to read it in french at some point
Moebius is the colorist as well
and Yves Chaland who did the colors for the first book I think.
btw OE is pronounced like the U in run. same as Ö and Ø in germanic languages
Please tell me you’re getting an early copy of the Love and Rockets 40th Anniversary box set to show us?!
Is there a reading list for incal? I see other books that look related on Amazon
On the fence on upgrading to the new reprint of the oversized deluxe as i have the reg hardcover edition and the word bubbles and letters are so small

I feel the opposite. The color is flat and fugly to look at.

Let me make sure the dates haven’t changed. My contact left Humanoids. But I will reach out to my new contacts Monday.
@@NearMintCondition did you happen to see what I was referring to? The Incal in a black slip case coming in November. Thanks
@@sidbean8378 I did, I'm asking my new contacts this week.
I kinda feel they should've done it without the speech bubbles.

Batman year one.
Forget about Snyder, he is a bad writer

It’s a new edition. Not sure it will be numbered. Also they are using a new scan for some of the art.
@@NearMintCondition didn't know about the new scan. Looming forward to it.
I love your reviews Omar but seriously, you gotta stop trying to pronounce some of the writers/artists names
He pronounced Alejandro pretty well, though
