I have hedges that I get trimmed. landscaper will knock on the neighbors house to alert them that he will be cleaning up what falls on their side, but if they are not home, the cleanup gets done anyhow... that's NOT trespassing.

They could have said there’s someone in my backyard or they could have said someone’s trying to break in the house you never know the type of call the PD get regardless of what was actually Going on. Some people assume I was there to break in and burn the place down lol other may have seen some form of tree work going on who knows

I was actually pleased that the cops did not ask or demand ID. I hope the cops took note of the name on the truck and wrote a report, just to documrnt. This cop interaction needs to be shown in cop school as an example of how it nedds to happen. Again, pleased to see good cops when the visit could have easily went south.

The truth is that there are people who don't want you in their property even if you ask so don't just assume it will be OK I wouldn't go on someone else's property even if the person who I am doing the work for says it's OK because it's you that will be going to jail not any one else and if it were my land I would be very mad at my neighbor for giving you permission to go on my land who does he think he is

Fibers. Certain trees will behave differently. Some wood will hinge better than others. Oak is very good hinge wood. This tree was an oak so it has very dense fibers. Something like poplar or ash for example have not so dense fibers and don’t hinge well
