Guys there a difference and improvements between the 003 , 906 set vs 640 barber combo. I have them both. Differences: The 640 clipper actually feels really good that soft black textures is great but 003 body is more slippery. The spring and the cam on 640 clipper is actually different and has a better build better quality (fits all wahl blades) imo when i changed the blade on both clippers the 640 feels stronger idk. The clipper on 640 set is a little bit heavier then 003 better ergonomics on my opinion. The led display numbers are more sharper on 640 set. Now the trimmer differences: 906 trimmer is actually not zero gapped it's close but not super close on 640 set the blade is zero gaped and cuts much closer. The sound of the machine is little bit better the then 906. The feel and the grip texture is like the clipper its really great and soft. Hope that helps the barbers 🙏
Appreciate it. I was wondering myself if they just named it differently because of the color change combo. Do you know if the click feel is the same as the JRL ONYX? I got to feel the JRL and the feel and lever was prob the smoothest one I've felt. Right now I have new rebel set and metal instinct clipper,trimmer,shaver line

Been using the Teal and Gold versions of the clippers and trimmers for about 6 months now (Full set of each color). They are the only ones I use. Absolutely the best I have used this far and I have used everything. I just bought this set as well. I did throw a DLC 2.0 top blade I had sitting around onto one of the trimmers and it hits just a little harder. I tell every barber I know about this clipper and they don't get it. They hear the price and think there's no way these are that good. Their loss in my eyes. I will NEVER pay $200 for a clipper. They are all just Chinese clippers with fancy names and cases. I would love a way to set the trimmer gap though. Hopefully VGR and these other companies start doing that.

I just bought these, but the still/non-moving blade on both the clipper and trimmer snag on hair, exactly how you mentioned in the video at 9:12. I have no idea why. Could be that I unfortunately got the bad set with poorly manufactured still blades... but do you know what I could do to fix this, other than putting on a new blade?
I haven’t found a VGR trimmer that has stayed in my hand daily to perform my cuts .. the one that currently does not leave my hand and can be zero gapped is the kemei 2293. I have a video on that one on my channel you can check out 🦾💈🚌

I just got them and instantly found that the blade on my vgr v640 clipper is not good. I heard the new ones have been releasing with new better blades so I must’ve got an old one. Ima needa upgrade to some diff blade but love everything else about them so far
Tried to swap the blade on the trimmer with tbop psycho, but it doesn't work If anyone has a video on changing the blade on trimmer 640, please make a video - it has an unusual construction and double springs I believe for whatever reason
@@scizzahands I think the stylecraft moving blade might fit, but they are out of stock where I am now, so can't test What I did is I put the still blade of psycho gold and the native moving blade and it's much better, but definetly could be even better if the moving blade was switched, but the holes of the plastic on top of the moving blade is too bulky, so it doesn't go under the body and close off fully :[
@ I have try cutting the body on mine and still count manage to get the moving blade to fit.. well will figure it out .. that trimmer could be a contender with the right blade
@scizzahands Yeah, there has to be a moving blade that fits it If there is one, then this probably the best trimmer, just on rpm alone, not even the amazing style, size, feel, usb c, LED indicator, it has it all I did successfully change the clipper blade, it's way better now and I'm not even using tpob blade yet, gonna probably buy the tpob X or tpob XO Play, not sure which one is better, the new XO Play or if I should just stick with fade blade

@scizzahands you can also swap out the trimmer blade with the jucai pro blades, you have to swap the cams and take off the spring and you get a closer smoother cut almost 0 gap
Does x evo cutting blade or Saber cutting blade fits the trimmers cam? Anyone tried? The cutting blade on the trimmer is not bad it cuts down bulk good and clean but it's doesn't hit hard

Same for me since I had the 003 already but decided since it’s same price for the combo on AliExpress as it is for the 003 alone on amazon and all black which I love might as well have the matching set. Even on the back of the machine the trimmer and clipper say v640 so there is no model distinction between the two. I really like this trimmer small but powerful I hope 🤞🏼 it shows up for sale by itself.

To be completely honest I have not touched the blade mine are hitting nice right out of the package I have not taken them off yet. So I’d say they are zero gapped or they wouldn’t be hitting so well

They'll last long, had me a surker clipper for 2 years, ran strong, from Amazon. Only thing going bad after 2 yrs was the power switch, but it was replaceable. Swapped the blade to stylecraft one and they were my best and fav budget

I use thous 003 with black jrl fade blade ist total beast end I use then for a year now 10 haircuts a day still running like fresh out of the box

I do like my factory blade .. I had some TPOB XO blades laying around so I put those on and they are flawless now
And, how is the trimmer?

They now sell a charging base for this pair.They're a little fiddly, but work and look awesome on the bench.

XO cutting blade works with a SC fusion blade with a M.I.M babyliss cam follower. Excellent mod
I used to have a faper blade from SC and now i use a taper from pop barbers/JRL (same sh1t)

Yes I use the gamma guards which I believe are the same as style craft… and the TPOB guards for the xo also work.

Hi, I heard that lever on VGR 003 has a little "loosy movement" between clicks... Is that part updated on 640 clipper, do you notice the difference? Thanks for the videos!

They'll last long, had me a surker clipper for 2 years, ran strong, from Amazon. Only thing going bad after 2 yrs was the power switch, but it was replaceable. Swapped the blade to stylecraft one and they were my best and fav budget
I don’t doubt it they have done hundreds of cuts and still feel new .. no issues what so ever 🦾💈🚌

Ok, I'm sold, now recommend 2 other shavers I can find on Aliexpress with an lcd display & usbc and I'll be done.
That is what I’m currently on the hunt for. At the moment I’m loving the Popbarbers p620 but no screen and no usbc. I got some recommendations early that I need to look into

I just bought them I got a spare taper blade from supreme and a Vader blade I'm gonna throw on them

@@Youzarsif33 all depends what Kemei your speaking of some are trash some are very similar to the vgr .. my main trimmer is a Kemei 2293
