  • This 1953 BelAir originally belonged to by Grandad and Grandma (Dad's parents). My Dad has had this restoration on the back burner for many, many years and finally made it his main focus around 2018. Well, it's done now and it's one of his finest efforts!

    Very nice restoration on this. Looks like those dog-dish hubcaps came from a '54 (210 or 150 model), as I recall the '53 dog-dish (210 & 150) being a carry-over of the '51 & '52 hubcap.

Thanks! That may very well be the case. It's mostly original, but not completely. Dad was never afraid of a subtle cross pollination...😎

It looks great! I know about projects being on the back burner, and I'm glad your Dad's got moved to the front burner and completed. I see it's Powerglide equipped, which I think means it came with a 235. I caught a glimpse of what I think is a six under the hood. Please tell us about the dual exhaust.

Thanks for the kind words! It has the the original 235. The dual exhaust manifold is from the early 6 cylinder Corvettes. Dad bought it from the dealership parts department in the early 50's for another car but held onto it for all these years because that's just what one does...
