      @@willgadd2187 Woah!!! I never in a million years expected to get a reply from Will Gadd! I’m a huge fan of all your work, not just the ice climbing and Ive found a great deal of interest in your collaborations with scientists to help our planet. Really just so awesome to use your unique experiences to fight that battle for those of us not in the same position. Thanks for making these videos and engaging with the community, it means a lot

      Can't hurt, but with good technique I don't see many dental or facial accidents from tools. Flying ice, yes :).

    Hey Will, I'm pretty new to ice climbing, get it maybe once a year down in Arkansas, but I'm looking to supplement it with dry tooling. Any advice on starting out? Should I be concerned about scarring exisitng rock routes?

    • @7um4dr3
      @7um4dr3 8 месяцев назад

      Yes. Look for dry tooling specific crags. Those are often on rock that is uninteresting for normal climbing.

    How does one decide when to use the tool and when to just grab the rock with your hands?

    • @willgadd2187
      @willgadd2187  Год назад

      When it's below freezing it's really hard to use your hands for more than a move or two, so the tools are usually better, but not always...

      Not sure what you mean, but I probably should have chosen another career than ice climbing if I wanted to get rich. I chose fun and good people, no regrets.
