You may be thinking about when Chris Gonzales nominated her for Supervisor of Thornton Twsp, which is a separate position. And the "82%" nonsense is a lie hatched from some Henyard math equations. Bottom line, they didn't have ANYONE running for mayor so this is what happens. They got the vote to recall her but Del Galdo, the attorney next to her that they said only represents her interests, managed to get the recall disqualified because they couldn't put both the recall instrument vote AND if they vote to actually recall her on the same ballot. Technicality. And they did that because there wouldn't have been 2 separate elections before her term is up in 2025. They had to try it. Nothing to lose by putting both questions on the same ballot. She just has an attorney that could see both items on the same ballot was illegal

Dolton Village Illinois is a Municipality with approximately 21k residents. When Tiffany Henyard was elected mayor of Dolton Village there was a low voter turnout.
All of this is so immature. I’m a vendor as well and I would hate to have this done to me. Most of us vendors are small business owners. We do not get weekly checks, so our survival depends on our customers paying their bills. When u got these ppl bullshitting it’s sucks bc at the end of the day, they still get paid

This provides for a separation of powers (legislative/judicial/executive). This is where we elect people to represent us and manage the business of "governing" our cities, states, and the national government. The people we elect are, in theory, supposed to be in touch and stay in touch with what their voters want in terms of policy, actions and laws and act/vote that way on their behalf. A democracy is messy and mostly unusable. Every action needed to run any level of government would be subject to mob rule. There would be no check and balance of powers (legislative/judicial/executive). This really comes down to mob rule. In its most basic form, every single function or action the "government" needs to make or take requires the approval of the voters, even to the point of hiring employees. A representative republic, we have elected people to represent us to handle those functions.
Exactly so is the United States of America.
In a true democracy nothing would get accomplished because everything would constantly be quagmired in votes, quorums, debates etc.
Ultimately resulting in mob rule.
The importance of the average citizen to know who they are voting for to represent them on HOAs, schoolboards, city councils, mayoral offices, aldermen, etc can not be over stated.

They way the 4 trustees and Henyard go back and forth in every meeting is so unprofessional and unproductive on both sides. There is no way it should this tense in every meeting 1-2 years later. If Henyard is in jail, she needs to be voted out.

Henyard sent out a propaganda piece in the mail accusing him of some things not true. She swore she’d get him out n she did. She’s corrupt.
Steave lost in the election. Apparently, Henyard ran a smear campaign against Steave, Tammie Brown (who was re-elected) and others. Henyard’s campaign committee, “Friends of Tiffany Henyard” sent mailings to residents of Dolton. The two mailings targeted Tammie Brown, Steave, Valeria Stubbs and Samysha Williams, portraying them as “failed leadership” and being poor choices for elected office. There’s more to that story, as Williams filed a defamation suit against Henyard and her campaign for allegations of fraud. You can Google Samysha Williams and get the rest of the story.
Her family have to be embarrassed and disappointed.
