Not only one of the most technically accurate covers, but you also (and frankly more importantly) capture the energy and vibe way better than most. Most covers are too mathematical or sterile.
Honest... I clicked because I was certain after seeing them 4 times with 2 different drummers.. that no one, not even those that replaced him, no one would ever play it as John did. That groove on the chorus is legendary. Instead I found myself cheering and nodding my head as you played it flawlessly (according to my ears, cause I have no idea how he pulled it off). Bravo man! 2 things... 1, Can you do a video going over that chorus groove so I can really understand it? I'm dead serious. Lol. And 2, please learn the groove to "the noonward race" by Mahavishnu Orchestra!! You've got the chops to pull it off and seems you have the ear training to interpret songs with incredible accuracy. Subb'd
dude, what a beautiful thing to say thank you so much, im a super fan of this era of tmv and Jon is def a huge influence in my drumming, i found this album in a moment when i was starting to practice a lot so his groove is a part of my playing in a way, and when i play this songs i love to emphasize that little irregularities that makes him stand out, like the subtle changes in speed when he does a fill and that kind of stuff. I'll try to make that video, and also im gonna listen to that song and see if id like to make a video of that as well.
@@bunsu5502 that's incredible. He's most definitely a percussionist to look up to. And no obligation on the videos lol, you keep doing what has obviously worked well for you, man. You deserve the encouragement - just keep up with practicing and the occasional videos when you have the time. Who knows where it could lead ya? Jon is insane - he's been an incredible inspiration to so many, myself included. Of course I heard him first via TMV, but my oldest brother (whom had no idea why he was so interested in TMV prior to learning this) was adamant that I check out the drummer for this band called Trans Am. I was absolutely floored by the intensity of the drum work from the first song to the last. After a couple hours of gushing over the band, I did some digging and was surprised to learn that.. Whaddyaknow... Jon was the drummer for Trans Am as well lol. I told my brother about it and because of his desire to see "Trans Am Jon" play live.. It guaranteed me a ride and a ticket to every TMV show in the Houston area during that time (even when Jon left the band lol). If I could only suggest one Trans Am song to check out, it would definitely be "I Want It All". Sorry for the lengthy comment.. I always get way too hype when talking music stuffs haha.
That was truly incredible!! What a work out to play this song! I thought the guitar parts were challenging . Also you more than nail the drum parts . That's truly awesome !! 👌 well done and hope you keep playing !! :)
Saw this dude pop up in my home feed and had a feeling by looking at the gear that he'd actually play really well. You got yourself a subscriber your playing is fantastic!
Great video! Just another lesson to not judge a book by the cover. I didn’t see an expensive drum set or an extravagant mic setup so my initial instinct was to skip over the video, but that would have been a mistake. Really well done and good sound quality. Thanks for sharing!
Great drumming! I featured you on my website! Don't want to post a link because this comment will get blocked as spam. You can find it though if you look.
shellpack is a cheap Peace drum kit from 2000s and snare a ludwig supraphonic 6.5 tysm dude hehe, im 100% self taught and ive never really practice the drums like a study thing, just listening and playing a looooot of music and having fun with it for +10 years.
This is the most Jon Theodore-like energy and finesse of any Eriatarka drum covers I've seen, it's fun to watch you play.
This dude is legit.
What the hell....what a cover. You are incredible, you sound 1:1 like John. Keep on drumming like that👍
tysm dude, i will
Cedric & Omar need to see this. Amazing work brother!

It’s really hard to find note-for-note covers of Theodore/Pridgen TMV songs, and you always kill it. Fantastic job.

shellpack is a cheap Peace drum kit from 2000s and snare a ludwig supraphonic 6.5

Get it! Well played!
