      can you please recommend a better case in the same price range of this one

    I ordered this case because it was the only one in my price range with a side window and could fit my GPU (ASRock Challenger 6750XT). I guess before I can build in it, I'm gonna have to take an angle with a cutting disc to the front and top lol

    this is literally the cheapest case you can get (open box is like 45 dollars USD) people who buy them are typically running cards like a 1060 or less, so I think when the rubber meets the road cooling may not be an issue - also I would assume it's still better than the old NZXT's - and what about using SP fans?

    • @Techspin
      @Techspin  Год назад

      The issue is the hole size versus the surface space... not a lot of air is making it through. Sure, you or friends you know may be running a 10-series card, but we have a 3080 Ventus in ours, so cooling certainly is an issue at that point. A tiny mainstream build without serious CPU or GPU horsepower will likely not have any overheating issues.
      In the episode, we bought two Arctic SP fans, however the case top actually meant we could not mount the radiator up top as it vibrated the DDR4, not good. So we couldn't use these fans after all. If we had done air cooling instead... maybe? But working in this small space can be challenging.We may have a follow up on this later... I have the normal q300l case and I'm not getting thermal problems. I got a Ryzen 5 3600 with a Hyper 212, and a Rx 6650xt I mean its pretty decent with temps at about 75 degrees Celsius
    I mean pretty good for a case that's like 70$ maybe on sale for about below 50$ I kind of see with this case that it could be a good one for moding as well to improve overall thermals if ur good with a dremel

      Yeah we actually did removed out a whole bunch of metal and the result was pretty great actually. We'll revisit this soon!
      This is one case where the looks are better than the performance (accidental pun heh)

    this is a budget case ... it was reviewed as if they paid $200 for it. why is the power supply installed upside down?

      You're complaining about us being too thorough in our review? Raising the small details that impacts building and using this case was too much? 😛 With it being one of the top selling smaller cases, it does have issues which consumers should be aware of- airflow, the I/O bracket, the case flanges on the left/right sides don't actually let you use the supposed full GPU clearance, unless you use an AIO cooler, but then you need to fit the radiator somewhere. Modifying the case revealed a lack of welding as the corner joints were vibrated open! We'll review the successor, the Cooler Master Qube 500 shortly to do a compare and contrast.
      The PSU can be installed either orientation, you can see many manufacturers flip their side branding to be correct in either positioning. If the motherboard top-left ATX 8-pin power cable from the PSU is slightly short, depending on the modular plug location, this could provide a few more centimeters, very helpful. I wonder if putting a ducted gap between the fans and the case will improve airflow from the front? This would allow for the fans to not be obstructed so the restrictive nature will marginally mitigated.

      We may revisit this case as we've done modifications to it, but the case corners are experiencing cracking now... 🙄

    Does he know his psu is mounted upside down

    • @Techspin
      @Techspin  2 года назад +4

      Does he know that PSU manufacturers design their labels so you can install it either way? 😉 It depends on what you want for airflow too, the PSU fan (for most) draws air in and pushes it out the back... and we need all the airflow help we can with this case! @@Techspin. I liked the snark.
      I feel like newbs tend to not have learned that. The current configuration is a pretty good idea given the stubby feet on the case.

    hey! what type of fans do u recommend me for the design of this case on the front side? airflow or high pressure fans?

    • @Techspin
      @Techspin  2 года назад +4

      Without modding the case, we'd suggest high pressure fans like the ones we said in the video, to push the air in through the tiny holes. Keep in mind that a rad at front will cut down the already cramped area for your GPU... should we revisit this case? We cut open the panel intakes and airflow is better, anyone want to see thermals?

    They always brush over how short the front panel cables are. The buttons can be on any side of that case but the length of the cable limits you to 2 positions unless you want the cables draped over the front of the MB instead of hidden
    I've got a 280 rad in the front and 2 140s up top.
    Temperatures are not as much of an issue as this guy is making it if you put a little thought in it. It's filled with holes. If you're creating an oven...it's a you problem

    • @Techspin
      @Techspin  Год назад +1

      The front I/O cabling is short- that's true; more important was the I/O was always in the way during building/testing, and there's no USB Type-C. This is now a gaming system with a RTX 3080 Ventus, lots of heat to remove, and the long GPU divides the case in half, so airflow is VERY important. We tried several fan/rad configurations, even reversing airflow out the front, but that produced worse temp results.
      I personally love Cooler Master and own many of their cases, and while you feel 'temps aren't as much of an issue' here, testing reveals this Q300L isn't designed well. Check out Gamers Nexus' review where they also find this case is one of their worst performers, even causing their CPU to thermal throttle. ruclips.net/video/F3n80GxU-Zs/видео.html Good feedback though, and that's why doing reviews like this one is important.😊 Thanks for stopping by, and have a great one!

    • @omulamfibie
      @omulamfibie Год назад

      @@Techspin nice job linking Gamers Nexus' video, but that's on Q500L, which has the stupid design with the psu in the front, basically killing the airflow from the front. Last time I checked, Q300L and Q500L were different cases, so your reply doesn't really makes sense.

    • @Techspin
      @Techspin  Год назад

      Fair enough, but regardless of the PSU positioning, the hole cutout still affects airflow severely, tested with several GPUs including the currently installed RTX 3080. Occasionally you think a problem might really turn out to be a problem, but in this case, blocked air intakes definitely impacts performance. Follow up video to come... Soon I hope. Thanks for your feedback, and we do consider critiques including yours, carefully.
