    Love this guitar, but mostly super impressed with your demo song!! Probably the best shredding I’ve heard in a review in a while. 👍

    I have this guitar! Besides the pickups being a little noisy below full volume, it's fantastic.

    So, I've needed a time to catch a breath, cause I'm completely blown away)))
    At first I must say, I've been a performing/touring musician a few years back, and now some kind of sound producer and composer. Also a premium Gibson guitar owner and bunch of other not starters guitars.
    And I must say you've pushed that guitar to some beautiful tones, not much worse in comparison with my gibson, which is also in aquamarine burst galaxy sparkl blah blah painting.
    My first guitar, 15 years ago, was also GIO, 2003 Indonesian made, and I've got tired of it very soon, the story like "I've decided to quit a few times because of that guitar" lol) It was heavy as hell, annoying tremolo, I've done with it many modifications to learn how to upgrade the guitar. But after that and after I've given it away, I've never bought the guitar I need to upgrade EVER AGAIN lol.
    This guitar doesn't look it needs any upgrades, except straplocks maybe, if you are performing. It is quiet, it looks good, daaaamn that roasted neck mmmmah! Pickups can be changed, if you are like fan to some other sound, but I don't hear any problems with it. It may be because you've hide it from the hearing, I tell it from the sound producer point of view, but I think it is really that good.
    I've checked out the catalogue in my country and ther have Purple sparkling one, daaaaaaamn. I must say, if they would release these version (with exact choices of wood, electronics, and looks) of 8 and 9, with 27" and 28" scale respectively, for these 299-349 bucks, it would blow the whole market and even Harley Benton would envy.😅🎉

      Wow thanks mate! I love to read such comments ! I indeed don't feel any urge to upgrade anything - I would compare it to the cheap but reliable car which gest you from point A to B everytime at half of price. In case of the sound: it's easier to get decent tone with such high tunnings - it's a drop D so guitar is sounding like a guitar.. it's kinda akward to say but that's how it is - currently everyone is tunning as low as possible. I myself, revisiting the drop D tunnings which sounds extremally tight. BTW: Judas Priest drop their new single today - high tunning and amazingly sounding mix (imo).

      Whoa, my pleasure. Usually, everyone tell me I'm mad or ill, leaving such detailed comments))
      About this guitar I've wanted to tell it's not just cheap car, letting you get from A to B, but it also looks cool in every way. Just like little cars that become classic later- like Golf, Beetle, Mini Cooper, you know))
      About higher tunings- yeah, I'm the one going extremely low on guitars and bass (tried low F# with .175" bass strings back in 2010-2011), but right now doing the recording and mixing I understand that it's not everything)) Like, I have an experimental mathcore EP, where one track is recorded in low C# 9string tuning and one in drop D on Gibson- both are sounding extreme and tight, so my idea that people can play whatever tuning they want, whatever guitars they want, the heaviness goes to the mix and your composing/playing style.

    GIOs are uber-based. I can one-up on that with my 180$ starter pack GRX70 was a banger guitar already back in 2012 when I got it. Very solid in terms of build quality and playability. These days you get roasted maple but I can brag that my GIO got birdseye maple lol. Can't recommend the GIOs enough. Great starting point, solid mod platform, absolutely nothing to be ashamed of and as the years go by the bar for lower end guitars will only get higher.

      This! At this point im wondering if I need a more expensive gear to be happy and creative. This guitar messed with my point of view - but I'm happy it happened. It gets job done and all the drawbacks can be compensated inside the software/hardware gear easily.

    What is the difference between this one SP and 121DX series ? Also, on your opinion what is better - Ibanez 121 sp ot jackson js22?

    • @Cultifact
      @Cultifact  7 месяцев назад +1

      Sorry for my supper late response! The DX is basically equipped with the active electronics and is made of different type of woods. Another visual difference are markers on the frets but that one you probably figured out just by looking at it :D If you are into heavy music - DX might suite you better. This GRG121SP is pretty universal without any obvious musical direction. DX is more of a metal machine oriented guitar I belive. I never had an opportunity to directly compare them side by side.

    Just ordered the GIO GRG121SP after watching this video. Ordered with a set-up from sweetwater and beefy slinky strings. Was gonna go cheaper just as a practice guitar but everything I'm seeing says that this one is the most bang for the buck. I will come back with an update once it arrives. Thanks for the video!

    I have an Ibanez grg121 sp green yellow chameleon. Wonderful color and finition for the price. It would had been perfect if this model had a tremolo. All the combination would had been terrific. Maybe next year??? And please, PLEASE! Stop with to much black and white. That's enough! the brain needs stimulation and shifting colours are really the best for that! Peace!🤟

    of drum machine you use, or
    how you get the drums to be
    in sync with the guitar ? Do
    you play one before the other ?
    How is it done ?
    I'd really appreciate knowing.

    I've owned quite a few Ibanez guitars. From my experience, you either go cheap in the GIO series, or Prestige. I can't tell you how many Premium models I've owned made of basswood, that sound like complete doodoo.

    • @Cultifact
      @Cultifact  11 месяцев назад

      I can't agree more with what you just wrote. All those in-between-series are sort of a race looking cars with the commuter engine. To be completly honest I'am more happy with that gio than I was with the Quest series even though it was a fun experience to play a headless.

      RGA is way higher in the hierarchy so if you got the budget I would go for RGA - the re-sale value will be bigger when you will want to sell it at some point :)
