Mistakes are learning opportunities for sure! Love it!
The shirt still turned out awesome. Have a nice trip. Halloween is my favorite too. 🌒🧛♀️🎃
I’m excited for you to go on your bucket list trip! The shirt is cute. I appreciate you showing your failed creations so we don’t feel bad when ours fails. Thanks for the tip about free vintage Halloween images.
I have to keep things real right?!? The goods the bad and the ugly. Lol
Love how the shirt turned out, it looks super cute on you, love it. TFS and happy Saturday! Have fun! Xoxo 🧡🍁🌾🍂
Thank you so much Liz!❤️
I loved how the shirt turned out! You did a great job! I'm going to try this.😊 TFS.
You still got a cool festive shirt. 🧡🤎🖤
I think so too. I’m definitely going to still wear it.
I love the shirt but I'm super excited for your visit to Salem! You HAVE to take us along, I'm dying to go there!!
I’m hoping to be able to take lots of video while I’m there. I’m so excited!🥰
My youngest sister lives only an hour away from Salem. I love exploring there. History is alive and well in that area! You are going to have so much fun! I like the way your shirt turned out. It’s very cute being darker. I am going to try it on an old blue flannel I have. Thanks for this fun video💛🍁💛
I am most interested in doing the history tours and of course the “Hocus Pocus” houses. 😉
Your shirt turned out very nice I like the image you chose. Great project
You are living my dream. Although I have been to Salem during fall I have always wanted to go for Halloween. Go to the witches Ball etc. I have a bad back now so I am thrilled to see you going while you can enjoy it.
I’m so excited. I will take lots of video for you guys to see. ❤️
Ive been to Salem at Halloween, you'll love it. Its awsome!!! Enjoy!👍👍❤
I’m beyond excited but I know it’s going to be super busy. Bringing my patience with me. 😉
great job! you'll love Salem :)...just be prepared for ANY and EVERY kind of weather if you're going during Halloween week...we've been many times and it can snow, rain, be blustery or sunny and cool...it's near the water so you can get a multitude of weather changes...so much to see while you're there...make sure you take the "ride-all-you-want" Trolley when you sight see--it's really a great feature if you're interested in getting some history...have fun and be prepared for the crowds :)...thanx for sharing :)
Thank you Karen, I’m trying to reserve as many things as I can like the walking tour and dinner but I know it’s going to be worth it. Even with all the crowds.
I like the shirt didn't think it was a fail. Love your channel. From one Becky to another.
Thank you Becky! 😘
I love the shirt.
Thank you Dee!
I think the shirt is beautiful without the bleach affect. Love the sweater too.
Thank you Deb!❤️
Love! Love! Love! The opening music is perfect! Salem is fabulous! I'm always inspired when we go! We never go at peak season, but just before.
I want to do one of these shirts, Becky. Maybe they used an old flannel snirt. It still looks adorable! 🙂💖
Thanks Justine, I hope yours in more successful than mine. Lol!
Great video!...I laughed 😅, I cried 😢 I like how you coordinated the shirt colors with your image transfer. Have a great weekend! Love you ❤
Thank you Kim❤️❤️❤️
Love this project!
Loved the thumbnail and intro! Edvard Munch-esque.. The Scream 😱
Lol! I learned a new trick and had to try it out. Now I can’t remember how I did it.🤦🏻♀️
Jealous! Would love to go to Salem! I like the way the shirt turned out. Definitely need 100% cotton for bleach to work. I just hadva discussion with a friend about bleach and fabric. Take lots of pictures so I can live vicariously through you!!! 👻 🧙♀️ 🧹
I will take lots of pictures and videos to share. I really had no idea that polyester wouldn’t bleach. 🤷🏻♀️lol
Hi Becky 🙋 Love the shirt ❤️
What a great video! You are so sweet , you do my heart good , lots of smiles on my face😃
Thank you Susan, comments like this make my whole day.
I would try it again in the pot with straight bleach but don't let it dry. Dip it in water if it starts to dry. It is cute though! Make sure your hair is off your back, it did cover the picture up. Very cute!!
Love this project Becky, perfect timing, I just thrifted a yellow, orange and brown flannel last week and wanted to embellish it. I just need to find an image. Hope you have a fun trip!👋🏻💛
I hope you have better luck than I do lol! But I’m the end I do really love my shirt so I can’t be too upset.
You will love Salem. Be sure to take an evening walking ghost tour, they are fun. Besides all the normal touristy things, I loved all the small private little restaurants and pubs to eat dinner. If it’s still there by the wharf, check out Captain Dusty’s ice cream. It’s a local favorite and so yummy! I hope you have a wonderful time. Enjoy!
Thank you Janet, I have our walking tour all booked. I didn’t want to take any chances of them being sold out.
Your shirt looks great. I had to use straight bleach and soak for awhile on a shirt I did. I have seen on other tutorials where they couldn’t get the shirt to bleach out either. Super excited for you, enjoy your trip!
Thank you Jennifer, I still love the shirt. I just wish I had did more research before I jumped in. I think the polyester was the problem.
Hi Becky,
Thanks for sharing this DIY project. I actually really like how the shirt turned out with the ombre effect. Your applique is perfect for it.
Bleach and I have a very troubled relationship. It has ruined more than a few items despite how careful I am. Now, I wear a oilcloth apron if I touch the bleach bottle...lol...
Normally that is me too except for this ONE time that I actually wanted it to bleach my clothes! Lol! 😂
I think your shirt looks cute without the bleached areas. You could always add wide trim on the cuffs and bottom of shirt but it’s adorable like it is!!! Take lots and lots of pics to share with us👻🎃🧙♀️
Thank you so much Shirley!❤️
Great video ❤🎃
I love it
Thank you very much! I learned a lot. 😊
I just ran across your channel. I’m not into vintage but you have such a cute personality I just had to subscribe.
Awe thank you Teresa!
Hi Becky still love your shirt . I sure it was the fabric for the reason you couldn't get the effect you wanted from the bleech . But you did a good job so cute .
Thank you Kathy, I had no idea that Polyester wouldn’t bleach. 🤦🏻♀️
I'm so gonna try this
Awesome! I hope you have better luck than I did. Just make sure you get 100 percent cotton flannel. Lol! No polyester!
Watched a video where she had the same problem and she ended up using RIT dye remover and the final result was really cute and it bleached it almost white. Yours turned out cute, though!
Can you maybe link that video for me? I am versions curious to see that.
I’ve done a few and it really depends on the fabric. I’m not sure if you said if it was cotton or not. I think that worked the best for me.
I think the polyester in the shirt was what stopped it from working.
Did you wash your shirt (no fabric softeners) before you bleached it? The sizing in the fabric may have been a factor in it not bleaching. Is the shirt cotton, some other fibers don’t bleach very well? You may want to add another line of stitching around the fabric to keep it from raveling to far.
Tfs
I didn’t wash it first, I’m wondering if the polyester blend is the reason it wouldn’t bleach.
Oh you didn't mess the 1st transfer up. Trim it down without the words and use it in a frame or something. Too cute to not use somewhere right?! Love watching you and your content
Thank you so much Laura!❤️
What a cute shirt! I haven’t seen that effect before. Question about your new shirt: what is polyester content? Polyester wouldn’t bleach as well as cotton or wool flannel. Oh wait. You just answered my question. Yep… the polyester was the problem. It still looks nice though!
I definitely should have done more research before hand but I do still love the shirt in the end. Thanks for watching. ❤️
@@MyLittleVintageHome I like it too! Have fun on your trip! 🧙♀️
Halloween is my favorite holiday too 😁❤️🧙♀️🧛♂️🦇🎃👻 Was your shirt made of polyester? That could be why it wouldn’t bleach well.
Yes! 😭I realized after I was finishing up that it was a polyester / cotton blend.
@@MyLittleVintageHome oh no 😩well maybe you can make another one 😁
