Love the relaxed conversational vibe of the video and the host was so charming! Enjoyed the quick walk-through the Cafe as well. I just got a switch not too long ago myself. Right now I'm just using it basically to immerse the beans during the bloom phase, then treating it like a standard pour over with several pours. I like how this recipe uses so little coffee to achieve a big cup. I'll definitely give this recipe a try, though play with the ratio like you suggested, since I usually brew 1:15/16. Can't wait for more!

Hario Switch, My favorite way of brewing! A combination of pour-over and immersion.
Yes, I do an immersion only, and my favorite is the
"15x5 method" 1 to 15 parts water and 5 pours (similar to the 4:6 method for the V60)
Example: 20grams of beans to 300grams of water
Each pour is 60grams with a 40-second hold (before letting the water go)
Customize by putting more time on the first 3 pours to bring out flavors (great for Ethiopian) and
more weight on the last 2 pours to bring out the body (great for Central American, brings out the creaminess).
It's easy to customize the recipe for each bean roast. This means there are countless recipes.

This was helpful, thank you :)
I've been experimenting with doing a strong brew and diluting. My wife likes her coffee with lots of steamed milk, so a strong brew is kind of essential.
What I've been doing is 18g coffee at a medium grind, then 100g water followed by about 15 of 20 seconds strong stirring, then immediately letting it pour.
It's been very satisfactory. Also for a cup of black coffee diluted with 150g water.
This is probably not orthodox and could be critiqued, but I'm enjoying it.
It also makes for a very quick brew.

    Thanks for the vid.
You can switch out the glass cone with a plastic Hario V 60 cone. You can also change the size of the cone, ie replace a Switch size 02 glass cone with a size 03 plastic cone

I do have Hario Switch at home, I love its flexibility. However, I haven't found the right recipe for immersion brewing just yet so... will definitely try out your recipe!

The best switch method is to use the 4-6 method. Do your first 2 pours with the switch open just like you would do with a standard v60. When the bed shows close the ball and pour your 6 amount of water all at once. Then play with the hold time. 1 to 3 minutes. Then open the valve. This method works great.

I only do both. 1/16 20/320 and do 160ml first pour and a swirl up to 45 sec - and then close valve put next 160ml and chopstik swirl and release at 2 min and it drains to an end at 2:45-3 mins..
