I love the Loon tool kit! I have pretty big paws and the larger sized tools are great. The only knock I have against it is the bobbin makes a squeaky sound every once in awhile while i'm tying. However, I believe they've addressed this issue by using brass spool bearings on the new version. Great stuff and an awesome value.
I bought some Loon hemostats for like $26 pre-Covid and those were so garbage that I have a hard time thinking about buying more Loon stuff but the kit looks like it could be ok.
That looks like a Regal vise, which is usually what Brian uses. Feel free to contact him at the shop for confirmation though. He'll be happy to help and confirm.
New to fly tying and going through beginners challenges. I'm breaking thread, a lot. I spin the bobbin to add twists but even when I'm not putting much pressure on the tread it breaks at the bobbin. I'm wondering if my bobbin has a burr in it. Any suggestions? By the way I really like your videos.
I was just checking out these kits on your website last month. I’m sold on them for sure as I start in fly tying. And did you guys get a new camera? The video looks awesome!
Too large, too heavy, especially the bobbin holder. ABS plastic 1/2 balls that hold the spool squeak with certain spool types. Too much flex in the Bodkin needle. Paint will chip over time; should have been unfinished SS or aluminum or even anodized Loon yellow. Should have asked for input on finished design before producing. Some like to think they know it all, but they don’t. Not a bad kit for someone starting out if they haven’t already worked with the best tools on the market to compare them to.
Pretty much nothing......nothing true in this response.....except that it’s a pretty good kit. “Some like to think that they know it all, but they don’t.”- You proved that right here for the world to see. Nice work! 👍
Please send an email with your name, address and a note. This response deserves a free hat and fly box. He’ll we might just send along one of these Loon tying tool kits. All chipped up, heavy and uncomfortable.....but free. We’ll tell Brian to look for the email.
Thanks for tuning in! Spring is right around the corner, lots more on the way 🤙
Abother great vid. Your respect to Kelly was nicely expressed and is admired by viewers (myself at least). You are both the best!

Thanks for being here. By far our best selling tools. They are extremely well done.
I'm using Dr. Slick right now but the dubbing twirl looks like a good one.
All great tools here. Thanks for watching.
Never used Loon until lately for the cement and tack products. Loving them so maybe I will need to check out the tying hardware.

Hi Brian from Rosario / Argentina
Thanks for being here and Hi! right back from all of us at MRO.
I bought some Loon hemostats for like $26 pre-Covid and those were so garbage that I have a hard time thinking about buying more Loon stuff but the kit looks like it could be ok.
Loon makes some great stuff......one of our top selling brands in many categories.
Would you recommend this over the Dr. Slick tool kit? I’ve been torn on which I’d be better off starting with.
Thanks for checking with us but best to contact the shop directly with questions like that. They will be happy to help.
what company makes the tying stand you have in the video?
That looks like a Regal vise, which is usually what Brian uses. Feel free to contact him at the shop for confirmation though. He'll be happy to help and confirm.
What is a good beginner vise? I want one that doesn’t have a C clamp so I can use it more readily
Please contact the shop directly and they will be happy to help. Thanks.
I love the vid, can you make a vid about some flie tying material kits
Thanks. Just did. Look a few back with Ryan.
Did they get rid of the squeaky Bobbin?
They made some running changes. Yes.
My son and I want to start tying flies.. what is a good quality starter set that has everything we would need or as close to ? Thank you
Please give a call or e-mail the shop and they will be happy to help.

Im a huge loon fan. They make better products than those expensive imported stuff.
Excellent quality tools and scissors. Thanks for watching.

And did you guys get a new camera? The video looks awesome!
Thanks for watching. Same camera. Brian had some work done.
Thank you!!!
Thanks for being here.
What stem is that on your Regal vise?
Looks like the stem from the Travel Vise. Feel free to contact Brian at the shop to confirm.
Mad River Outfitters thanks!
I clicked it, but didn't feel any better...at least you do...;-)
That's really what's important here. Thanks. We appreciate it.
👍👍👍👍
Same to you.....many thumbs.
@@Madriveroutfitters thanks, y'all make great videos. :)
Howdy friends :-)
Andrew Webster well Howdy! Glad you’re here!
and they kind of look like butter..... in a box.
Chester Crabtree great observation!
120? Cmon
Will Watson We know. A great deal. Quite a savings over buying each individually.
Mad River Outfitters agreed! Should of compared the prices for buying individuals as compared to piece by piece!
Will Watson 😉

Their too bulky, heavy and the bobbin holder feels terrible in the hand. I also don’t like the painted finish, it chips. Should have been anodized.
Other than that, how do you like them? BTW, it's They're.
They’re tying their flies there! 😂
Charlie Boutin Hands-down. All-time winner!!!! Charlie, you are a new hero of thousands. A legend you might say. Amazing work sir. 😂
Haters make us famous and sell tons of stuff by the way, but bad grammar and punctuation is not acceptable.
