Also, this time not only cars with manual manual transmission were updated but also cars with sequential shifters like LFA, 8C or Radical. Thanks to Petty Wingman and Ahmad Galal for the tip.
Thanks for the comparison :) Maybe you already know, but the transmissions of LFA, 8C, SR3 and GT by Citroën are mistakenly treated as MT, that's why they got updated, too. Now they sound as if they have a slower semi-AT.
@pedinhuh16 yeah lmao, I have a gr corolla, and it was painful watching the ai rev past the limiter in automatic mode. If you do that in real life the motor will blow up.

@@w21aaaaa i actually dont remember but you can harm your engine by doing it, rendering it either unusable or if you are lucky you can still drive like normal but with less power since the engine will be malfunctioning (also most of the time black smoke comes out from where the engine is located).
It sounds like PD forgot to implement throttle cut when shifting up (Most games will automatically block throttle input when shifting gears to prevent the car from revving up, which would blow out the clutch in real life) So it’s nice to see they’ve finally fixed it
@@pedinhuh16 waaay back when, people used to complain about the "sterile" gear changes in GT compared to other games, e.g. Forza or NFS. One idea that floated about at the time was to have responsive clutch and throttle inputs during gear changes for "sequential controls" (as opposed to H-pattern hardware). That is, although still only changing gear with a single button press, the game respected clutch and throttle inputs during the change. This would mean that the speed (and sound) of each gear change was down to the player's input, and not hard-coded / scripted. I quite liked this feature in GT7 - the game "read" your throttle position during gear changes and would basically bring the throttle in early if you were still holding it down. This leads to the comical sounding changes if you're lazy. If instead you carefully timed a throttle lift during changes, you got ultra crisp sounding gear changes with still a hint of variation and character (not unlike using H-pattern hardware). All of which just goes to show, you can't please everyone. And since this game heavily features online competitive racing, it won't be a case of allowing it to be an option. It must be the same for everyone :( Typical casuals ruining it for the rest of us :D
@@pedinhuh16Well, a player like me since GTS, that's where I started lifting off the throttle when upshifting because of this reason like the reply above. The game still reads our input while the game engage the clutch during shifting. After the update, the game just 'turned it off' while still reading our input during gear changes. You can see the red bar there where this is our input.
@@j.marstonhave not have chance to try many cars yet, But overall sports and semi racing silencers sounds cleaner than before and the list of cars i noticed sounds better of the ones i tried was Ford gt 06 improved sound sounds more like a v8 now, Genesis 3,3 improved shifting sound, Aston Martin vulcan, valkyrie and Pagani zonda r has a more aggressive sound now, Those are just a few that comes up in my mind,
And in consequence of this improvement, it also seems the gearing animation is more in sync with the car and not lagging slightly behind every time, like we see at 3:55
They made it automatically let off the throttle for you between gears. I usually just let off the throttle before shifting but this will make it kind of nice.
For me it's irrelevant as I always released the gas to shift and it sounded like this. Now when I want to shift more aggressively from 3rd to 4th for example I can't.
I noticed yesterday making a grind car and thought maybe I was tripping, It helps using this to lower the PP but keep control of the gears to get the top speed you need on leman's, Glad they fixed that delay it's a bonus for sure
Thanks to this change in gear shifting, Gran Turismo 7 is now more realistic. Unlike Gran Turismo Sport where all cars with manual transmissions shifted like before this Gran Turismo 7 update.
I didn't even read if this was part of the patch notes or not, but having driven the LFA every single day, I immediately knew something was different about the shifting💀
I was going to, but I checked both Vulcan and Valkyrie and they sound the same. I also checked some cars with engine swaps (with and without turbos) and still the same.
Shifts still sound a little too fast for my tastes, but still way better than they used to sound. It was always so offputting seeing a vintage manual transmission car shifting gears almost instantly.
Ford gt 06 has an updated sound, Aston Martin vulcan, valkyrie and pagani zonda r sounds more agreesive and raw as well Not sure of witch cars has been updated as hole, but exhaust sounds has been improved as well, seems to apply mostly for sports and semi racing.
Personally, I like the way it was before the update. After the update, it may or may not be more accurate. But now all of the clutch pedal manual shifting cars sounds like the driver is just pushing a button as if all cars are using paddle shifters. All of the cars sound as if they all have a DCT.
Wow, big update to QoL, it's like getting used to a huge mothership mole on your face, but later you're like, hey this thing don't belong here...! (P.S - some people just leave the mole there like it's nothing). Now they just need to fix the laggy hand animations!

Is it actually on a per car basis? In Forza you can turn on manual transmission but then every car suddenly has a manual transmission. Even F1 Cars or LeMans Hyper Cars ... it's really weird. Same with ABS and TC. It's either on or off no matter the car.

It's only been 27 years, I have a feeling theyv had the same engine simulation code for the duration. maybe one day we'll hear some overrun sounds between the changes instead of actual silence.. GT is the best and has always been the best all round driving game but their sound composition (not the samples themselves) has always been trash

The MK4 Supra with the Pagani v12 engine swap was okay but it did not match the engine swap for the Mk4 Supra for me, the best highly recommended engine swap for the Japanese legend Toyota Supra MK4 is the 1LR-GUE V10 engine which comes from the Lexus LFA for the legend MK4 Supra it would be more best suitable engine swap for MK4 Supra more than the Pagani V12 engine.

@@jortepapac is trash on a controller, ac feels great on a wheel, but nowhere near as good as gt7 on a controller, i have both, ac on pc and gt7 on ps5, and neither is better or worse than the other, they both do things good and bad, ac is not the best for causals, not forgiving, require a lot of setup to get everything right, a wheel is a must for ac as it plays very terrible on a controller, There is more to game than physics to, and only reason ac is still even good today is thanks to mods without it, its pretty much not to great.

Never heard of a throttle lift? You flat-shift your real car with H-pattern gearbox? To each their own, but it wasn't hard to figure out.

You can tell from the throttle meter the game is applying the throttle partially before the shift could be complete

GT7 is so overrated. A racing game is about MORE than just car detail and realistic graphics/lighting !!
You are tripping, gt7 is not overated, and its not bad, what its important for everyone can be very subjective,
There is not much better you can experince on consoles, and add a psvr2 to the mix and you have something that cant be experinced on any other racing games on consoles.
But i guess some people need to come and spread hate for no reason at all.
Gt7 still selling like butter even 2 years after release, so what you think about its pretty irrelevant.
And as it turns out gt7 is good for many aspects outside of graphics, the put more attention to detail than anyone else on the market, witch makes them stand out,

Its about great driving physics and immersion. Assetto Corsa feels sooo much more real. Even on controller!
@@jortepapac is trash on a controller, ac feels great on a wheel, but nowhere near as good as gt7 on a controller, i have both, ac on pc and gt7 on ps5, and neither is better or worse than the other, they both do things good and bad, ac is not the best for causals, not forgiving, require a lot of setup to get everything right, a wheel is a must for ac as it plays very terrible on a controller,
There is more to game than physics to, and only reason ac is still even good today is thanks to mods without it, its pretty much not to great.
Shame the hand changing gear doesn’t sync with the actual gear change 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
