Hey David. I asked a timbco mechanic if he would replace our flex plate on my 445. He was too far away so we did it and got his advice . He said pulling the motor to get to it was a 6 hour job and pulling the pumps was 8. When we started In on it one of my guys said he’d like to see the cape that mechanic wore 😂. Y’all did a very good job . Like the self tapping screw I’ll use that
David Haley you made good time then buddy. That’s some intensive work there, a lot of expensive parts n all Gota be just right. It’s sure a relief to get it back together, I do remember that .thank you for sharing
I DID have a great day and hope yall got the Saw back together so YOU could! That was a JOB! I remember the pump drives and pumps on the 245 Cat shovel and hammer. Seems like there were 2 swashplate pumps about the size of a bushel basket and a pilot pump and maybe one more. They had 3406's pulling them and it was an interesting undertaking because the pump drives gave trouble if you didn't warm them up VERY S L O W L Y ! One guy reefed on it in the middle of winter and stripped the whole thing out. NOT good. I think he ended up in the low crawl pit for 6 months or so. I usually ended loading the boulder haulers or back in a dump truck until it was fixed. Then one day I was STILL in a dump truck after it was fixed, but it was a good deal. An RD with a 'fire breathing 350' Mack engine as the guys at the Gainesville Mack place called it with a 12-speed behind it, 38 front and 44 rears pulling a trailer. NO lean! NONE! I try and forget how dangerous I was in that thing but just end up with nightmares. There was a L O N G dip over the lake with a 1/4 mile bridge at the bottom. That truck would top out at 70. We'd wind them all the way up and knock them out of gear. Empty AND loaded. When the kids jumping off the bridge heard that thing coming they started hugging the guardrail. NO slowing down till you could pull it back in gear going up the other side. YOu ever get down here I'll show you where it is. The kids tried running back and forth a time or two but no more. Hammered and then some. We were probably running 90 or better. Glad I didn't blow a steer tire.

I actually learned something from your channel today. Nice trick with the seal and the timbertools. So there actually is a usefull reason to watch youre channel, who would have thought that.... Thank you for finally giving a purpose to RUclips whatching 😇
Do you think your dad could get in touch with any old loggers and try to get info on the Steiger barn built log skidders that were built while they were still based in MN? Only a few were made and I saw one in person today?
Dave, your quite the "Snake Charmer" to get that back together🐍. $100,000 question, did it stop leaking? Like to see that done again in the woods at -20 F. 😂
It's nice to see you had a wonderful, calm, cool, uneventful 2.5 days! Ha Ha nice job! Sweat equity, very satisfying and hits your pocketbook a little less.
grad your taking pics & video to remember where goes what cause i'd be going dahhhhhhhh... you need to put up tents so your not getting sun stroke & sunburnesd. timco engineers are watching???? and screaming @ the screen????? glad your having so much fun & can do all these repairs yourself... aloha frm hawaii
Been there, done that only usually the ones we do we have to drag the machine in the shop cause someone forgot to check the splitter box oil. Have you ever seen gears weld themselves together. Pretty cool. Nice job however.
@@davidhaley7053 anything for a buck, sometimes even work on the Timbco. I did work at the factory for several years. Good chance I welded parts on your machine. Like the carbody or the upper. Welded up hundreds of them.
Another great job done and well worth the headaches and the few new words you learned along the way. Better to do it now than when its 30 below zero. Keep up the great videos
Man are you good at fixing equipment! I am impressed! I love the duct tape boot repair...I think you may have some Scottish blood in you, David! (I'm of Scottish heritage, and can talk about stingy...er...frugal). Hahahaha
Hi Dave!!😀😀 That was quite the undertaking!! You guys did a awesome job!! A little bit of boot on a roll works every time!! Red Green would be proud. LOL!! Take care my friend!!😀😀
Taped many boots ,first few steps can be tricky til they get the slick part of the tape ground off ! Nice big repair job done . Check out "Millineal Farmers" channel he's in Minnesota and has some brand of boot sponsorship and a huge following!
Nice work Mr Haley trick I use when you use zip ties to mark hoses is to cut the ties off when you have tightened the fitting so you can see at a glance where you have been and where you haven’t have a great day lol
Dave buddy, we need a summer intro.. we'll see plenty of that gross white stuff later lol . Have a good one!... actually i do get a laugh with the " have a nice day" clip from when u guys were building the ice bridge and the guy was freezin his balls off with the hose

Thank you. Hope it holds!
Yes we hope it don't leak, it should be good to go ✂.
That’s basically what comes on the actual come install rear main seal kit for isx Cummins .
Interesting
You guys did that in one Day! Way to keep on top of it David, Be Well
No. It took about 2.5 days. Thanks

@@davidhaley7053 I said I'd never do it and had been off a truck for a while pushing dirt around but it came handy and I was ready. Pitiful, ain't it.
Shoe Goo. comes in a tube for about 6 bucks. Works great for sticking soles on. you can find it where they sell shoes.
My wife just said we have some. Maybe I'll try it.

You learned something... I didn't mean to cause that... lol
@@davidhaley7053 It sort of slipped up on all of us. It seems to happen like that around you.
This one must have been time lapsed over three days and three kegs of beer. Fun fun fun call me stupid but I lovebthat stuff.
Hopefully none of those pump seals needed attention while they were out
That definitely crossed my mind. They were replaced not that long ago.
Been awhile since I have done one of those, lot of work. Good job 👍
So you felt my pain? Or enjoyed letting someone else do it??? Lol
Do you think your dad could get in touch with any old loggers and try to get info on the Steiger barn built log skidders that were built while they were still based in MN? Only a few were made and I saw one in person today?
He remembers them. I googled it and I think it said they were made in Red Lake Falls.
David Haley I just got pictures of one from a guy that’s woods ready
That's a big job pullin all that stuff. How does that Sisu compare to the cummins 8.3?
Our previous Timbco had 3 Cummins motors in it... Guys do seem to be having better luck with the newer ones. I'm very pleased with the Sisu.
No fun working in the belly of the beast but worth it by saving money , those custom wrenches are unique , looks good repaired be ready for the woods
It wasn't overly fun. The heat was a big factor. Thanks Chuck
David Haley yeah it’s been definitely been warm and no fun when it’s like that working in heat
Love your channel David!!! We haven't had logging over here in Rhode Island in 70 years!
Thank you!!!
The gypsy moths did a good job on logging the oak last year and the year before
Into the belly of the beast, well done all, and great content.
Thank you Scott. Much appreciated.

I've only run it about 2 minutes since the repair so it really hasn't been tested yet. I'll be quite upset if I have to do it again...
Better you than me Dave, I get mad when I brake a line on my backhoe and have to replace it, I would sell the thing if I had to do all that!!! lol
I don't blame you!🤣
It's nice to see you had a wonderful, calm, cool, uneventful 2.5 days! Ha Ha nice job! Sweat equity, very satisfying and hits your pocketbook a little less.
I can't imagine what a dealer repair would've cost.

What a joyful. Project. Aint it fun
Amazingly fun!
Big job! Big dirty job!
Yes it was. Don't want to do it again!
With duct tape those boots should get you by until winter lol.
Nice repair job. Fixing before it gets cold again.
If he'd get serious about it they'd be slightly waterproof!
Funny stuff guys!
If you used gorilla tape you might just get until march on them boots

Yes. Thank you

u need a Chester's boot store to sponsor ya too. lol i agree no need to wear a duck taped shoe. ha!

A boot sponsor or a duct tape supplier, one of the two!
