That outsole rubber is certainly tough. I do 10 miles at a time 3-4 times a week, entirely on asphalt. They still look great. NOT so great on stamp-crete, feels like slime underfoot. (I think it's the smoothness of it that's so hard to grip in this rubber.) It's just stamp-crete too, because they have great grip at Sam's or in a garage with a smooth and polished concrete. They've sort of shifted my stride a little bit too since I'm not used to that roomy toe-box. Glad you pulled the trigger on these. Topo is so underrated. Hope you enjoy them. I'm getting 2-3 others.
I am looking forward to durable outsole rubber. I have been an Altra fan, however the durability of their outsole rubber would be probably my most consistent complaint. I am looking forward to experiencing the Topo's.
No comparison for me… I was so disappointed with the Specter. I love the Topo fit, but the Specter midsole was flat, unresponsive, and gave nothing back at tempo. The Altra sang at tempo paces. Just wish I could swap the upper and midsole between the two!
I am still feeling a bit of bounce in the Specter. However, the Vanish Tempo definitely feels faster. I am really enjoying the Topo Cyclone2. It has less stack height but has all the bounce I was hoping the Specter would have. It is all Pebax midsole. It would probably become too unstable with a 35 mm stack height like the Specter.
Huh, haven't seen this one, but came here getting through all your clips, reaching this, 18th one. Great unboxing, Jay! Have a great new week!
Thank you, Mihai!
I really appreciate you watching. Don't worry at all if you miss some.
Great, honest review Jay! They look pretty cool and it's nice to see Topo moving to some more modern midsole material. Best of luck at the race!
Thank you, Paul!!!
Looks nice❤ always like your reviews.
Thank you, Bonnie!
Nice looking shoe. My brother wears Topo. He just bought the mountain racer 2. I have not tried them.
I think that I am going to like them. I really like the fit!
I have not heard of that brand. Seems like it has all the features I enjoy. I will keep them in mind for when i need a new pair.
Have a great weekend.
Thank you, Misty! I am looking forward to trying these out. The Topo's definitely have the features that I usually look for.
They look nice
Thank you, Naomi!
They look fast. Best wishes.
Thank you, sir!!!

Good to hear the Cyclone 2 is meeting expectations… still waiting for them in Oz, though 🙄
