Russian Danny Phantom lyrics actually says "Danny Phantom goes 15 years", where canonically its 14, overall translation is fine The guy who sings in opening is Dmitry Filimonov, and by the way, he also voice actor of Danny himself, and many other characters from the many shows, cartoons and movies, he is like Tara Strong of voice acting on russian Fairly Odd Parents tho have two Russian openings, and both of them kinda strangely translated
Well the "Danny Phantom goes 15 year" witch mean that he has full 14 years and there goes 15 year I'm not kinda English speaking but i tried to tell my opinion
It says that it's 15th year of his life. It's like when you're less then a year old it's your first year of life. It doesn't mean that you're 1 yo, no you're still 0 at this point.
Butch Hartman is like the kind of teacher who gives you a lot of fun and great learning lessons. So much success in this new season of your life as a RUclips Creator. Excellent work!
When translating songs, the words are usually swaped for other ones that ryhme in the target language but give the same feel of the original. You probably knew that but as a translation major I felt I had to point that out :'D also it would be awesome to see you react to the Danny Phantom theme song in Arabic!
The Fairly Oddparents was a hit here in Brazil. So HUGE that it made Disney (which was the company that broadcasted the first seasons here) claim that they had the "best episodes" in a clear dispute against Nickelodeon which had the new ones by that time! By the way, the voice actor who played Timmy in the video you just displayed was in charge only for the first few seasons. His successor perdured for the longest time in the role and his voice resembled more the original. Despite the changes, both voice actors were really good.
I think the most interesting change here in germany is that the fairys in fairly oddparents are refered to as "Elfen" (Elves). It just fits and sounds better. The german word for fairy would be "Fee". I guess it would be hard to find good rhymes with that word... The shows name was also completely changed here: "Cosmo & Wanda - Wenn Elfen helfen" (When elves help) Especially Denzel Crocker's "HELFENDE ELFEN" sounds great and rhymes. It really gets stuck in your head and is one of the first things that come to mind when I think about the show.
I just love how much Butch is passionate about his shows. He directs, he draws, he produces, he can voice act, he writes, he sketches... So awesome to see an animator this invested
I think we had two different voice actors for Timmy Turner here in Brazil. One was more high-pitched than the other. Also, they started speeding up the opening in the later seasons.
*Fun Fact about Russian Dub* The singer of the theme song is the voice actor of Danny Phantom. He's good actor, but some songs on Russian are really bed~ If Nick somehow *WOULD* air the golden series again , I would like to hear a new Russian "Re-Vocal-isation." (sell me a good luck, please)

hey Butch, regarding 6:40 the text says "Ein Hund der Dudley heißt, der sich gerne in den Hintern beißt"/A dog named Dudley , who likes to chew his butt". I guess it´s pretty close to the original "plain old mud/chewing butt" rhyme. 7:04 I guess there is not a real translation for TUFF in German. I think beeing tuff is part of german slang as well? I´m not quite sure... But in the german version the acronym T.U.F.F is named "Total Unerschrockene Fieslings Fänger"/ (totally fearless meanie catchers). And D.O.O.M is "Diabolische Oberfieslinge ohne Manieren"/(Diabolical manies without manners). So they kept the the Names of the organisations, but adapt with german language. By the way: I love your shows. Its part of my youth and I never realised how many shows you created. Thank you for all the good memories. Grüße aus Deutschland
Due to the big influence, which america had on german culture after WWII, english words, or names, are very common in movies, series and everyday chit chat
i just love his reaction to Portuguese version of Fairy Odd Parents, hope someday his react to Danny Phantom in Portuguese, I am big brazilian fan to these 2 cartoon that I love til today
Butch, answering your question about rhyming in Russian theme song: 14teen and machine in Russian do not rhyme, as a matter of fact, 14teen was replaced with 15teen in the song 🤣. “He was turning 15teen when parents assembled the strange tool” (the exact translation from Russian) and yet 15teen doesn’t not rhyme with tool (machine) either 😂. I would say almost none or completely none of the lines are rhymed, but the song is still cool and till this day I sing it in Russian in a circle of friend because of nostalgia
Cartoon Butch: "I'm on every social Media platform known to man Me: DeviantArt But seriously there's a lot of "Hart fan art"(it's not always called that just various Danny Phantom. fairly Odd Parents. Tuff Puppy. Bunsen is a beast. stuff)
Wow, didn't know you played that part if TUFF Puppy. You learn new things everyday. And did not know Danny Phantom was in Disney in another country. The rap sounded cool though.
It's funny that the Portuguese (Brazil) intro is sped up I think they did this only in the later seasons to save some time but if you go to past seasons the speed matchs And yes it's really hard to sing all that even on regular speed, just a lot of long words that make it really hard but they managed to not miss anything to this day I'm stunned
I'm happy you liked your version of Fairly odd parents( here they translated the title roughly to magic godparents btw) and yeah, the video was really sped up! About timmy's voice, I have to say while they weren't 100% faithful to the original, gotta say it works better in Portuguese, here we don't use high pitched voices in cartoons at all, not even for children(I guess our kids don't sound that high pitched?), it would sound really off if they tried to be faithful to Tara's voice. Anyway, this video gave me an idea, why don't you pick one show and react to the voices of each character in various languages? Your reaction to the voices in Portuguese was the high point for me in this video.
It was unexpected to see a mention to Matheus Canella, but ok, he's fantastic . Talking about the Brazilian version, Timmy had a lot of voice changes time by time and idk if that one is the best
a thought; they might be coming up with slightly different lyrics in order for it to have a matching rhyming scheme. i'd suggest getting native speakers of these languages to translate for you in order to see what the actual contents of the songs are.
You should really watch more of Fairly Oddparents in portuguese. Cosmo's voice if from a genious and superfamous voice actor here in Brazil, his name is Guilherme Briggs.
Since Tuff Puppy is a work ( like art, technological development etc) it doesn't translate to anything. For example Computer is spelled and pronounced Computer even though c is pronounced like our soft c
The maker of this own animated shows appreciates his works being dubbed in other languages, that says a lot considering the whole sub vs dub in Anime debacle.
Most different languages just choose whatever actors since in my opinion, people who do the cartoons in different languages just don’t care who the actors are and pick whatever with lacking effort while not being a bit more aware of their choosing. But some put effort.
Hey Butch! The original Brazilian intro is in normal speed, like in the original. This is not the normal speed of what we normally watch here. Shout-out from Brazil, by the way

Hi, comrade! I'm from Soviet Russia!
in Russian some people say it like that. It means he's still 14 and goes to his 15th. it's like how centuries are count
Huh, I wasn't expecting someone to pick up on that...
I already was explaining that and translating a bit of it I could understand.
It says that it's 15th year of his life. It's like when you're less then a year old it's your first year of life. It doesn't mean that you're 1 yo, no you're still 0 at this point.
