Thank you so much for this video! I was all worried because i though the border crossing on foot looked like before. It actually really nice and alot safer.
How can someone in a wheelchair get across the other direction? Im also wondering how can someone get across with several dpgs and suitcases on foot as all that wont fit through a turnstile? Is there a bigger door way or is the only way into mexico through the turnstile?
Are there are handicraft shops close to the border? I know Algodones has plenty of them but Mexicali is more convenient. Perhaps there's less of a line for pedestrians (2 1/2 hours at Algodones on a Monday earlier this month to return to Andrade_
Aside from the new building on the Mexicali side, this is pretty much the same as it was when I last crossed here last in Jan., 2015. WHY did the Mexicans put up the new building? And what happened to the underground passageway after you came through on the Mexican side?
This video is awesome! I usually use the East crossing, but this time I'll be crossing at 1:30am and East will be closed, and I knew the West crossing had changed. Though not as much as I had expected. Any idea where to turn in my Mexican FMM before I cross into the United States?
Do you have to have your passport or can you just use your passport card? There was no sound. I wish you could have narrated it somewhat. How were you able to pass by all those people waiting in line? What did they ask you as you handed them your passport? It seems like it is totally different than flying in to the USA.
You can use the passport card! I bypassed everyone because I used my Sentri card, which is a trusted traveler card similar to global entry.....they usually always ask if you’re bringing anything back from Mexico (anything to declare)
I want to cross by foot which I know how to do but I’m taking an Uber somewhere and when I get the Uber to go back to the border to cross by foot what direction am I typing in?!?
I'm a white guy and plan to cross into both Mexicali and San Luis Rio Colorado Mexico alone on foot. If I stay in the commericial/downtown area, is it safe during the day? If I bring a backpack and scooter with me, does that make me a target? I'm more worried about customs going thru my bag on my way back only to find bottles of water, lol.
Sal, I crossed into San Luis Rio Colorado, Los Algodones and Mexicali on foot last week and had a blast. I got searched crossing back into Calexico, apparently if you cross too many times you get flagged. No problems in Mexico. The key was staying in my own lane and ignoring the bullshit. I'd do it over again. Thanks for your advice! BJT
Where can you park in Calexico if you want to cross to Mexico by foot? Do you have to take a taxi to Mexicali once you are on the Mexican side or does the city start right there?
literally mexicali starts where calexico ends and viceversa, from the air the only way to know where one city starts and the other ends is just by looking at the international fence. both are sister cities. I live in mexicali btw.

There is two lines why the left line was slow and your line was fast?

Just tell the Uber you want to go to Hotel del Norte. You can see the sign of this hotel in the video at 0:15.
Is there a pay parking place to park our vehicles?
Is this the West Mexicali Border?
How did you walk ahead of all those people who were in line? Because they were non US citizen?
I have a sentri card, which is a different line for expedited entry
