Just purchased the Rodecaster Pro II and watched this entire masterclass playlist. Fantastic quality. It was very well presented and easy to understand. I did a lot of research on what audio interface to buy before I settled on the Pro II. I didn't do a deep dive into all of its features but now that I have I am shocked at how much this unit can actually do before you even get the audio to your computer. Thanks for the masterclass.
Great news - it's already waiting for you here: ruclips.net/p/PLMwzFVPy_Z9uKbQ7Ymu05grq-g4OdaPhm Glad you're finding this content helpful! Do you already have the RCP2 or are you just thinking about trying it out?
Thanks for the good and helpful videos! What setup with mix minus and chat and main for 4 people chat live in the room and different incoming guests through Ecamm interview guests? It's getting complicated for me, happy and thankful for some help 🙏🏻
Unfortunately, there's no single answer for this - it depends on your set up, your studio space, each person's voice, etc. If you get stuck, we do offer consults: livestreamingpros.com/services
Question, I am new to this and we are starting up and I am getting a ton of great information. I am going to purchase the Rodecaster Pro II, but my question is (sorry if previously answered) what is the component that you have below the RC Pro II that allows you to switch between camera views? Is that something that Rode created or something completely different?
The switcher doesn't connect to the RCP, it connects to the computer. There are a lot of different options out there, but we prefer the X-keys or the Stream Deck.
Terrific series and very helpful. Question- If i want to use my iPhone15 as the recoerding device for a videocast, is there a way to integrate the Rodecaster Pro 2 as the audio processor input, bypassing the iphone microphone for a richer audio sound in the videocast ?
Can I connect one mic and use it on a dual pc setup, as well as have one pc turned off and use the mic on the other pc (aka one pic for a dual pc and a single pc setup, depending on when I want to use what)?
Thank you so much dear.Your video is very helpful. But I need your guidance . Is it not also possible to connect and use Rode Wireless Go II or Wireless Pro through a mixer to an amplifier to use the system for addressing a gathering from a stage ,using the Rode wireless mic ,as a hands free mic ? Also please give me any other guidance or caution in this matter, if you have any ,because I am quite new to this . Thank you .God bless you.
Can you send audio from one usbc to the other usbc? In other words I want my iPhone 15 usbc in one usbc slot and the other is my computer. I want to be able to send audio back and forth.
This is good info, the "Main Mix" setting, will this combine channels into one audio input for MS Teams? I need to make 4 channels into one input. Thanks!
MS Teams setting may be limited by your company (if that's where you are using it). Something to check: Turn off Noise Reduction in Teams from AUTO to LOW or just off and you can also try enabling High Fidelity Music.
These might help: rode.com/en-us/user-guides/rodecaster-pro-ii/setting-up-the-mixer-and-assigning-channels and help.rode.com/hc/en-us/articles/7879147108111-What-Bluetooth-devices-can-be-connected-to-the-R%C3%98DECaster-Pro-II-#:~:text=Tap%20the%20setting%20cog%20on,follow%20the%20prompts%20to%20pair.
Do you offer any sort of remote paid services? I have this system and I keep getting crackling sounds in my recordings. I would be happy to pay someone for help.
@@LiveStreamingPros Missed opportunity! Maybe they will implement it in the future. I am producing a podcast in a studio where the video switcher is in one room and the Rodecaster is in the room of the guests so network control would be so nice. I can make workarounds, but it would be nice if it was just an app. Thanks for answering!
I'm using Firmware 1.3.4, my Routing page does not look like this, where I can select (with a check mark) the different channels in a custom mix. Where is this located?
The USB secondary connection can be connected to the same computer for additional system routing or to a second computer where you'd be simulcasting your audio to. It can be 2-way audio as well.
i have rodecaster pro 2(RCP2) connected to a 2nd computer via usb-c 2nd input and now I use zoom in the 2nd computer while also using the headphone connected to the 2nd computer. now how to setup and get the zoom communication to rcp2 for recording. is there some thing you can help with ?
If you want the audio from your second computer to go into the Rodecaster Pro II then you need to change the speaker output on that computer to Rodecaster Pro II secondary. Then whatever audio is coming out of the computer system will go into your Rodecaster and you can mix that in with your broadcast output.
You definitely can connect your computer to your RCP II via Bluetooth and stream that way, but I wouldn't recommend it because there would potentially be a delay. Connecting via USB will be more reliable and near instantaneous.
These can both be connected to the same computer but if you’re wondering how you can control the RCP2 with the Stream Deck, there’s no current way to do that because the USB on the RCP2 is not for controlling the unit.
Great Video! I have some further questions about a studio setup. Is there anyway that I could contact someone on your team about setting up my studio??
Hello very good videos, congrats - I did as you instructed, but I can only hear people's voices, the background doesn't come through. Any sugestions? Thank you very much
Hi. For radio, i can listen audio in off not on air? And, i can rec something in on computer and the other computer for live radio? Another questions 😅 i can u use in rode one phone hidrid?
My rodecaster pro 2 does not want to be connected via usb-c 1 port, the secondary is the only one that works, I've seen others have the same problems.. but I cannot find any solutions, have you heard about it?
Thank You! QUESTION! We want to take audio from youtube and other websites and feed it INTO the rodecaster allowing us to include in our on air recording which is through logging into radio station via our PC. (We could NOT achieve this using Rodecaster 1. We could BUT had to turn OFF mix/minus and that caused MIC feed to slapback our voice and sounded stacked-delayed on voice and sound pad music beds..in essence, everyting was feedback back into PC and causing that slight delay.) It appears that these various inputs / outputs on Rodecaster 2 you reference and with individual mix/minus features might allow this to work! IF this is possible, then we will spend the money for the Rodecaster 2. Thanks! We're a new subscriber. (Also, interesting to note the soundpads on Rodecaster 1 only have 512 MB of space available so large files like music beds for on air use eat up all the space. Rodecaster 2 has 4 GIG of storage for sound pads! Soundpad storage space canNOT be enhanced on version 1.)
💥Awesome series, getting the RCP2 now as it will fulfill all our needs. 1 question. Scenario on a single Mac system not using ECAMM, (yet...), holding a Zoom meeting is it possible to have RUclips playing in a Chrome App, and the native Apple Music app playing royalty free/licensed music, and sound effects from the StreamDeck all funneled into their own separate channels on the RCP2 for playing back into the Zoom meeting? We tried using Elgato Wavelink for this exact scenario and it worked perfectly being able to pull in Chrome on one channel and Music on another, Streamdeck on another, etc. Though Wavelink is still suffering from some teething pains, inconsistent reliability connecting with the Stream deck and worst of all Latency creep. Over an hour of use the latency grows from almost nil at start up to almost a full second, almost 1000 milliseconds. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling WaveLink several times etc, no joy. Looks like the RCP2 combined with Ecamm would satisfy this scenario just fine, but hoping we can do it now before diving into the Ecamm ecosystem in early summer.
You can only route up to 2 apps, one to USB1 Main, the other to USB2 Secondary. Then each of those can be controlled by physical or virtual faders. But the app itself has to have the ability to choose the output otherwise it’ll always go through the default system output, or you can use an app like Loopback or Sound Source to do that though.
Hi , I have a question. After 2 hrs of recording the record button turn blue and Micro SD icon disappeared . It’s 128 GB scan disk and should be enough space on it . I can eject it safely. What should I do now ?
It can be connected directly to a PC or a hub, whatever works best for you. However, it doesn't pull power from either, you need to either use the standard power connector or use the USB power connection but you need to plug that into a USB wall power adapter.
I'm so glad this was helpful for you! 🎉 Hope that maybe you'll be able to stop by and say hey during one of our live streams someday! (Friday at 10:00am PT) 🙂

Any idea on how i can connect to laptops to the rode caster ?

The setup process is the same. You may need to add a docking station or hub if you have run out of ports.
