Yes, I could have totally heard this on the "next" record. What a shame, I wish they could have at least made it through the rest of the decade and into the 90s.
Criminally underrated album that even Mould seemed to walk away from. Don't think he's played anything from it in his live sets for decades, absolute shame.
Oh man, I hadn't heard this in ages. This mis sounds INCREDIBLE on good cans. From the on-the-verge-of-chaos opening/screaming guitars, to the brilliant placement of the rest of the mix. It's just a straight up rocker.

this song is an undiscovered pop masterpiece and if it was on revolver by the beatles it would be canonised...kidding but only a little bit as this is a gem of a a pop song...a classic in my mind!
Saw you last night and you were awesome Bob!!! My best friend, she never normally dances, but she did to you, we love your stuff. 4th or 5th time seeing you in London now!
Isn't this incredibly bang on? I bought this from Tower in L.A in the early early 90's and it rings so true right now. Talk about PROPHET, 16 times over since it came out. Apropos AF.
I can’t believe this doesn’t have more views than this! Wtf, am I on the right channel? Hello! Bob! More music! Let’s go bub, we need this now.... please? and btw, that guitar riff at the beginning is epic always tell the younger guitar plays to learn it. And when the hear it they are blown away. Just sayin...
When it came out, I was totally blown away by "Black Sheets of Rain." Overdubbing is great, but when he's in concert, I'm wondering where's the other guitar player? I have a DVD of a live performance and the second player is behind the curtains. Love his music, but that's B.S.
It’s an abbreviation of the University of South Carolina’s mascot, The Fighting Gamecocks”. This shirt was very popular in the 90s and would often create confused looks outside of the Palmetto State. That being said Bob Mould is one of the few artist who just keeps getting better with age.
Wish you could stay single and hadn’t formed another band with regard to Husker DU’s greatness. Also your solo career is far better than yours with Sugar. I love your songs anyway and I wish you a long & happy life.
Aged like fine wine in 2024.
This just played on 91x.
Resurrection Sunday program.
Love this song🤌👍
Bob Mould is incredibly underappreciated.
Most art that is truly authentic is overlooked.
That he is.
Yes he is
I appreciate him plenty, but I think @@chrisbrown8376 isn't pulling his weight.
Not in my house!
R.I.P Anton Fier.....Drummer on this Song, which is one of the Best in Rock History
Would be great if he played this in Leeds!
Along with Workbook, two of the best back-to-back albums ever released.
I agree 2:42
This song is so boss. I can listen to it in my car 4 x in a row.

Husker was toxic

I like Black Sheets. It sold 7,000 units. What did Rykodisk think of that.
plays STAND GUARD nowadays within his SOLO Sets....which is another Masterpiece on the Album
Every track is phenomenal and then the last one Bob goes full send

In 2012 he stills moves the same way - on stage!
so utterly underrated....such a great song/hook!

Met Bob the following year at an acoustic gig at the 9:30 Club in D.C. He shredded just as hard and still does.
Sweet!
WAY ahead of your time Bob! Signed, Canada. 2019.

Let us acknowledge, that home may not be safe.
First line of the first verse sounds like we are not gonna take it

Ray-Ban and credit cards can't fix it. Hmm. . Face up, little man, small little man. This high., See my finger.. it on your little head. Bless you.
He wore that shirt because he wanted people to know what he likes.
Couldn't care less about his sexual preferences. He writes great music!

@nickca420 Andy says leave Bob alone.
@nickca420 Julian says it's just you.
Still a relevant and poignant song.....just read the lyrical content!
eesh. it was 'too late' in the early 90s. 30 years on and we're still here. Guess it weren't too late at all...
Musically great, visionally awfull , no mullets with Bob Mould plz
