Just imagine, going from filming a pilot of a what would be a hit TV show, three albums, tours across the world getting decent £££ for it and screaming fangirls to getting nothing, backstabbed and offered two episodes as a guest and Hansen STILL did it anyway, he must of needed the £££ otherwise I would of told them to f*** off going behind my back

Curt's voice isn't bad, but the BTR members shouldn't sound alike. They're a group of totally different voices that harmonize. Kendall's voice really supports that a lot.
Exactly, when I hear BTR singing, I can tell the difference between James, Logan, Carlos and Kendall's voice. Great singing is obviously important to a band but having a similar singing voice with another could caused confusion from the fans unless you're used to it which I'm always not 😂
No, it’s that Kendall’s voice literally is the strongest. In most of their songs all you hear is Kendall, that’s why he’s the main singer. He’s got a unique voice

Fun fact: This was filmed in 2007 and they confirmed Kendall and recorded him and the rest of Btr, a day before they released the pilot in 2009. The new Pilot was made a year later, in 2008. Thanks to James,Carlos,and Logan for asking the producers to audition Kendall again! :)
I think it was 2008 since Carlos competed at Making Menudo in 2007 before he joined the project. Nickelodeon has possibly planned to launch by early 2009 but things changed beyond control that forced to do another casting to replace Curt which delayed even further until mid-2009 where Kendall was chosen to replace Curt and Logan was given a hair makeover which I think he looked even younger with short hair.
Kendall's voice is definitely unique and adds a much needed edge to the group. I'm glad they not only chose him but also rewrote a lot of these bad lines. And definitely glad they used Big Time Rush as the ending song, way more iconic

I realize this an OLD video, but I felt I needed to say something. I remembered seeing this when BTR was still big, and did not trust myself to comment because, as one person mentioned, I was used to Kendall's sound and felt I would have been majorly biased. After coming back several years later and listening to this version first, I recognize that Curt actually does sound good with the group. However, after listening to this version, I immediately listened to the BTR version. Having this much less biased perspective has also allowed me to hear why they chose Kendall. That statement that Curt sounds a lot like James holds very true. There is a timbre (and, yes, I mean a quality of voice) Kendall supplies that was missing from this initial group. I like both versions, and I especially like Curt's voice alone. Unfortunately, it doesn't hold the same power of Kendall's in the group because of its similar timbre to James's voice.

Honestly this could be the lost episode of Big Time Rush, Kendall is in a Twilight Zone situation, where he is Dak Zevon and Dak is Curt Hansen, a skateboarder from Wisconsin with ifferent versions of Katie and Jennifer Knight as well as James, Carlos and Logan as his best friends who get to be a different version of Big Time Rush. In the end Kendall is grateful to be in Big Time Rush and Dak is grateful to be a solo pop star.
i really wish that “this is our someday” was on apple music or spotify, i remember hearing it a couple times or probably once on the show and i loved it. also, casting kendall was definitely the best move, he really completes the whole band. when i was first growing up watching this he was my favorite character and the cutest to me 💓💓💓

The comments say Logan caused the recast. Though I’m not sure. The ENTIRE Knight Family was recasted too. If Logan was responsible then why was his mom and sister recasted? Though I could be wrong. I don’t know, I was in at Nick at the time. Kurt has a good voice in his own right though. Maybe if it was a band of five with Kurt as the bad boy since he volunteered. Kendall didn’t want to be the bad boy anyway. And said story of “the bad boy” wasn’t utilized again after that episode.
In actual Season 1 episode, there was Big Time Bad Boy episode but eventually they rejected the bad boy concept despite Kendall Knight beat Wayne Wayne.
I was just staring at the screen in shock.. Curt is cute and had a great voice but the role really fits Kendall. Palm Woods look different and everyone looks different. It feels so weird..
Curt Hansen gave it a really good try. You just have to give him that. He reminds me alot of the kid who plays Peter Pevensie in the Narnia series. The show wouldn't be going into it's third season though if they had kept Curt. I hate to say that but it wouldn't have. Glad they found Kendall.

It seems when they found Kendall everything was fixed, the clothes, the music, the comedy Kendall holds everything together.
Logan's hairstyle was also different but got changed. Most likely because he looked too similar to James.

The comments say Logan caused the recast. Though I’m not sure. The ENTIRE Knight Family was recasted too. If Logan was responsible then why was his mom and sister recasted? Though I could be wrong. I don’t know, I was in at Nick at the time.
Kurt has a good voice in his own right though. Maybe if it was a band of five with Kurt as the bad boy since he volunteered. Kendall didn’t want to be the bad boy anyway. And said story of “the bad boy” wasn’t utilized again after that episode.
In actual Season 1 episode, there was Big Time Bad Boy episode but eventually they rejected the bad boy concept despite Kendall Knight beat Wayne Wayne.

I was just staring at the screen in shock.. Curt is cute and had a great voice but the role really fits Kendall. Palm Woods look different and everyone looks different. It feels so weird..

Curt Hansen gave it a really good try. You just have to give him that. He reminds me alot of the kid who plays Peter Pevensie in the Narnia series.
The show wouldn't be going into it's third season though if they had kept Curt. I hate to say that but it wouldn't have.

Dak’s (sorry don’t know his actual name) voice is good but i believe personally his voice doesn’t fit the group. I wouldn’t of liked them as much if Dak was in the group y’all i’m sorry. Kendall just adds something to the group that another one person couldn’t. Seeing James in the outfit was shocking and i didn’t like it lmao.
It happened for a reason why there is drastic changes on the show and the band.

@@bojanrecic1014 But it was worth of sacrifice for Nickelodeon, Scott, James, Carlos and Logan. After Curt's removal, there was one final casting call and there were 3 finalists that they faced bootcamp if they were compatible with James, Carlos & Logan which was eventually chose Kendall.
