I've just hit 2k in total profits! I've built my entire window cleaning business around advice from this channel. I'm constantly being told I've been doing an amazing job and am very professional and I can thank solely this channel for that. I'd be very lost in this business without these videos. Thankyou so much SteveO!!
Door to door could also be a game changer for alot of people. I only door to door sales to get new client and word of mouth after doing a good job. I will admit I have alot of door to door experience in different industries but I was selling 2-3 jobs a day my very first month cleaning windows. It gets a bad wrap for alot of people but give it a shot, just get out there and knock on a door and offer to give a free quote. If they don’t want it move on to the next house.
We brand hats, shirts, trucks... we are getting branded buckets to enforce our brand. Branding is more than recognition, shows the customer they're getting a professional company.
Gosh I wish I knew you on a personal level. I have so much I would talk to you about. Came out of the arbor industry 8 months ago after 10 years & been doing this since. Hated it at first, but I learned fast. My work ethic isn’t very easily matched which attributes to my speedy learning. About a month ago when I decided “I’m going to be my own boss within the next 5 years” & my outlook completely changed. I actually love doing this now. My drive is going full bore & I have had some great conversations with an old boss (like a brother now to me) about my drive & not waiting 5 years. He even offered to do my start up & advertising costs. Just a little hesitant since I haven’t ever wanted to do my own thing in the past & him saying my 5 year plan could be pushed to a 1 year plan. This video came at the perfect time, seems somehow the internet throws relevant life events currently being discussed at me randomly. thanks Steve keep the videos coming!
Mahalo or thank you for all the advice you give. I stole a few of your ideas to use and it totally helped me make things easier. Stay humble and work hard and you can get far. Appreciate you Steve-O
Im in Indiana and have been cleaning houses for years and want a Change . I want to start ground level window cleaning and I’m 5’2 . I always go door to door and have plenty of clients now . I do have contracts just doing it as a side hustle . Doing windows do I need to be insured ? Contracts ?
I've been having fantastic luck with storefronts. Have knocked a total of ~50 and my close rate's been about 40-50%. I only knock businesses with dirty glass which gives me a starting point. Can always loop back to the suburb in a month and repeat for the businesses that are dirty then!
I've been following you since early this year, and decided to go into business for myself about 5 months ago. Going into month 6 now. Been averaging anywhere between $500 on a slow week, and $1500 on a good week. All your tips and advice have tremendously helped. Thank you! This is my first week since opening where I dont have more than 3 jobs lined up. Starting to get into our colder months (I live in Northern Michigan). Any advice on how to grab more clients during the colder/winter months? Should I offer some extra services? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! 🙏
Hey SteveO I'm a big fan! Question different from this subject. I have a customer who I've clean once a month with 6 different locations and was paid monthly but now he wants to be cleaned and paid quarterly. I have no idea how to charge that. Do i just add up the 3 months and charge that amount? I don't know, keep in mind I'm also cleaning all 6 locations every 3 months. Any advice would be much appreciated, thank you sir!
Ur videos are great.alot of info. looking to start another business along with our first one. Also you said your shirts cost 500 for the 10 garments you purchased. That is alot for shirts. If you ever need apparel we have a screenprinting business business we would love to give you a quote at Drake Duo Prints.
if i was to hang up flyers around where i live would that work well too? and would I be able to tape flyers to doors of homes and possibly other places?
What do you think about Facebook messaging and direct cold emailing? I've messaged a couple people on Facebook and emailed some people in the area like realtors trying to sell a home that could use my services. Haven't gotten any responses but I only tried a few people. Thanks for the great content man keep it comin ❤
I mostly focus on soft washing so I usually contact them about cleaning the roof and/or house siding so maybe you haven't tried this as much since you focus on windows exclusively, idk.
That's how i started my business. Start knocking at 10 am. If you don't have a job by noon, you're either in the wrong area or suck at sales. Always start the job same day if possible to avoid cancellations. If people even mention the money then you're in the wrong area. Buy a $15 hand pump sprayer and also offer soft wash service. I made an extra $150 just today in an hour doing this
I think its fine to get business but I do think its something you can cycle out of with window cleaning as your company gets larger. I never had to do it for residential but I did do a lot of cold call sales in person for storefront routes
@stefanbertasz4690 doing the same I've never worked at 10-12 and haven't made 1 sale. Anything else is just lazy Do u use a waterfed pole? Or go traditional
@@silentgrind34 only trad and mostly pole work when i get a 2 story house. What's been working is integrating doing spot treatment soft wash with windows. I don't give seperate prices just 1 price that includes everything. My plan is to start upselling with screen repair very soon. I think this will be a big money maker. Where is your biz? I'm south of Houston.
An 18" is a great size for windows that large and is easy to control, here is a good option windowcleaner.com/products/unger-complete-ergotec-40-ninja-squeegee?sca_ref=3020242.k17l3JaEgS
Ok I’m a female and want to try this . What type of insurance would this work require and do you have contracts and how did you come up with a contract ? I’m lost on pricing , contracts , insurance or not etc

It’s a real shame you’ve put down the tools and hung up the ole boots mate. WCR must have made you a good offer to move to sales 😜👍 Were you getting a bad back, or bad shoulders etc that pushed you to give it up?

That’s cool. How long have you been in business?
I whisk use google as a way to attract clients but not Facebook etc

Any tips?
Did you try like doing door handle flyers?
What if your nervous at first
I like to think of it like when you were 12 and went and asked all your neighbors to shovel the driveway. It didmt bother me then its no different

Fun little fact about follow up in sales the majority of sales happen between the 7-12 touch points this means text emails calls advertising

Eh, I would leave it out of the equation lol

Hey Steve what are your thoughts on door to door knocking for window cleaning have you seen Josh Lester and his brother do this ??

Yes, there is many weekend warriors
Was that five shirts and five hoodies for 500? That's not bad with logo!?
How many clients do you have? Are you focus on residential or comercial? It’s whole different world..,
I've done both for a very long time, I would also encourage to do both. Residential is seasonal and commercial is year around
I offered my services to the first cannabis shop I've ever entered. Desperate? Who knows......🤣😂

I bought a Moerman product and I cannot use it on glass. It leaves water behind. The product is new. What is the reason?
Exelerator??😂

I cherish my time on the glass, but moved on to a different chapter is all. WCR has been very good to me! :)
