I think it is an empowering song. Angelina doesn't have time for a relationship right now, her music comes first. I don't think she is telling just one person but all people that they shouldn't bother her, she will break their heart. I don't think she feels bad about herself, more like she is proud that she can come right out and say how it is.
In a recent "live" where she's with her "best friend" Willow Grey (a young actor) she said the song is indeed about her, she's the bad valentine - and that she "still love" the object of song, but whoever they are, they are no longer in her life

But she sees him sugar coating her words, hearing only what he what’s to hear and most importantly, “you will never know me”. This is how I understand this song. When she does that big belt near the end in the live, you can see the power she is putting out, all in 1 breath, shaking the mic. In this, she lip-synchs like she's relaxed & talking. I always prefer her live performances.
Nope it’s him. She wants authenticity in a relationship and for her to be able to be authentic. She’s disappointed, even a bit angry. Frustrated. There she is sitting all day into night at a famous lovers spot. Only way to truly get to know each other is to be honest.She says she still loves him but not in her life.

It's just our preference.
