    Dear Dani, I work with children who have learning disabilities. Knowing the limitations of this pen lets me know what I can and can't use it for in a school setting. I also would like to commend you on your bravery. You have shown the world that just because someone has a learning disability, it does not mean that they are not smart, capable, and knowledgeable. Your willingness to help others will empower many others. I wish my younger brother had known someone like you when he was first diagnosed with Adult Onset ADD. I think it would have really increased his self image and impowered him. Please keep up the good work!

    For me, I'm interested in this product because I learn better when I hear what I'm reading, not because I have difficulty reading. I just remember things better when I hear it AND see it than if I just read things silently. And with most physical books, I read to myself aloud. That's becoming increasingly inconvenient especially during allergy season when my throat is often sore and it hurts to talk. It's just kind of pain to have to talk the whole time I'm reading so I absorb it better.
    I've been having Alexa read Kindle books to me and I've also been investing in audiobooks, but I'm beginning to feel a longing for the pleasure of holding physical books. I love the way they smell, the way they feel in my hands, and you look more academic having shelves lined with the latest biblical commentaries than having a bunch of PDFs on your phone.
    I found this review helpful, and it seems to me the cons outweigh the pros for my purposes. :-)

    I completely agree with you and think that this pen and a live scribe should be combined! That would be amazing!

    Thank you so much for your review. It's so good to hear how it works from the perspective of a dyslexic user. I'm considering getting a c pen for my son and it's given me a lot to think about.

    Awesome review. Straight and to the point. Will you please review other technology you use that may be helpful to others with learning disabilities ex Dislexia in college? You mentioned Cursewell and Dragon something. I apologize for the misspellings. Thank you soo much. I hope you are safe and well. 😊👏❤️. South of the border neighbor.

    How many words per minute can it read? I've been looking everywhere for a review that desplays how quickly this product can scan text and read the text.
    Great video btw.

    • @DaniAlexandria
      @DaniAlexandria  4 года назад

      You can change how quickly it reads back to you so its not really a words per minute thing. As for the scanning its more up to your hand control and how wide the page is. Its kind of hard to give numbers but if you send me a Dm on Instagram (@DaniAlexandriaMusic) or Twitter (@DaniAlexMusic) I can record a couple of videos for you to show you if that would be useful

    If you can't read, chances are you have a caregiver. Hopefully a caregiver can read the manual. Good feedback, but maybe we are too entitled as a society

    Dyslexia is a learning difficulty, not a learning disability.

    • @DaniAlexandria
      @DaniAlexandria  3 года назад +6

      In the education and legal environment, it is considered s learning disability. A learning difficultly and disability are the same thing.

    • @joannas8597
      @joannas8597 3 года назад

      In general, a learning disability constitutes a condition which affects learning and intelligence across all areas of life, whereas a learning difficulty constitutes a condition which creates an obstacle to a specific form of learning, but does not affect the overall IQ of an individual.

    • @DaniAlexandria
      @DaniAlexandria  3 года назад +9

      The mayo clinic calls it a disability and not all disabilities effect IQ or intelligence. There may be different distinctions in other countries but here in Canada it is classified as a learning disability. Every single government or advocacy websites and the Ministry of Education in Ontario where I live classifies it as a disability. As such it opens up access to resources and funding that is needed by people who have dyslexia.
      I appreciate the feedback but I am going to continue to use the classification for where I live because I do not want specifically people in my area to think they aren’t entitled to resources that they are.
