After doing everything he said in the video, if you still have problems with the RIGHT ANALOG. (looking up goes left/right, looking left goes up/down). Switch z with r on both sides. Should look like this (look at my other comment)

Hey, it doesn't work. It renders my right thumb stick useless. I can't look up and down, because the controller now thinks I'm making it go left and right, and when I go left and right, the controller does nothing.
This didn't work for me. My right stick would not look left and right but up and down were working. I have this program called xpadder that allows my controller to emulate my keyboard and mouse and that has helped me to use my controller. Plus you won't have to worry about your changes not getting saved like I see some people have had a problem with.

did you enable the gamepad through the menu of left 4 dead? if you didnt know, try plugging in the gamepad before starting up the game, because that may cause some problems... i think i had this same problem when i tried playing splitscreen with it... i kindve forgot how i fixed it, tell me if what i said above worked... also it would be nice if you told me exactly what you did to the game before it had this problem.
ok, im assumming it messed up after you did the controller configurations, as of now all i can say is to reinstall it, if that doesnt work than tell me. also it would help if you where to tell me what controller you are using.

you mightve done the axis backwards in the .cfg file are you sure you changed the advaxis u to an r? and the advaxis r to an u? and lastly the advaxis z to an r?

Nope I have a problem were the player 2 analog is reversing the up and down
