Spinna's music is very inspirational for dj's and producers. Everyone who's a collector of Pete Rock, Premier and Dilla should also know all about Spinna and what he brought to the table. He may not have produced as many classic albums as some, but beat-for-beat, he is a top 5 hip-hop producer of all time.

Addicted to Poly-rhythms... who knows...Beyond Real...and before that. videos like this should raise value for anything he does on wax...a demand based on reputation for what its worth.

R.A.D.+H.E.R. just a note to myself and others who would agree. Spinna got rid of a bunch of underground i would assume from the mid 90's to the early 2000's because digital downloads came on the scene. that era was when Bobbito was always saying "support vinyl", because he knew when the tech streaming sites like itunes took over it wouldn't be fair for those who invested the production for physical formats, the way they use to market their albums before that tech shift the independent underground artists was to pre-game months before with 12" singles on wax that were lead songs with the instrumentals and acapellas and remixes that you wouldn't get on the album before the album was released. and everyone was always looking forward to coppin' the next 12" and usually unexpectedly without a scheduled time because expected times would build expectations that may soon lead you to either exceed expectations or break it. those who were hip and in tune stuck close to the underground bins at the record shop waiting for the unexpected undated 12" single releases. and that was sort of a guerilla type tactic that the underground artist buyer and seller would approach the sales with. it all depended on the buyer of the independent record shop to buy most of these uncharted releases and stock them in the bins. those who copped during that era knew the real shit like saying the right word before entering a speak easy, and that separated those who were on the jiggy christal shit from the raw essential shit that caught surprise like a ufo sighting and blew peoples minds, during that time when creative control over their own content and contexts was the issue, between major labels wanting representation for their branding regardless of their owned slave's soul's own creativity, vs the creative control of the independent artist with no conformity of their content to fit any mold or expectation, it was just all out essential rawness.
OK, so all of that said and understood. value is the issue right now other than maintaining of focus for the essence of the culture. anyone who copped those releases 15-20 years ago either are holding on to those physical copies or selling them on ebay. those underground releases weren't pressed for gold or platinum or lets just say more than thousands at the most or maybe 500 copies. like the 60's or the 70's rare funk was sort of like the independent scene for underground during the mid to late 90's. now those rare funk pressings are in demand because over time the generated value based on the limited copies pressed are hard to find and are considered treasures to collectors. it seems the artist also does a favor for the collectors of physical coppies over time value goes up the more rare and hard to find if you could find it on ebay or some mom and pop independent record shop, digital downloads from a website, those files never gain value for resale because you cant resale a digital file because those files can be duplicated and given to those who never purchased the transmition of the first file, so there is no value in that. im not a advocate for over inflation but the true value all depends on the the community and the value based on artists reputation from their creative skills, history of creative innovation, exclusiveness to a cultured following, and their upbringings in their career from who's who, and also the reputation of their independent record label and also the limited pressings hard to find demand for the reason of a specific quality in production, sampling rare drum break or rare hard to find obscure sample with buzz. put the cursor on the blue highlighted time on the right and press 5:59 .

legend..Mr spinna please hook up with jigmastas for an lp bruda..cant get enough of your music the new record is nuts!! the joint with elzhi is straight heat! ..also i dont think its any coincidence that the legends who are still relevant in this game have stuck with what they do best for the most part..digging out records..choppin samples..sticking to a consistant blueprint whilst continuing to evolve all the same..thank u Dj Spinna
