As a model scout/photographer the reason fashion photographers get great photos is because the gorgeous models. The reason they are paid so much money they are rare to find. Linda Evangelista a girl I discovered became a superstar model. I did photos outside of her, didn't need any special lighting. Her beauty made the photos great. I sent the photos to NYC model agency they signed her right away. I was a basic beginner but the close-up photos I did of Linda looks like a Vogue magazine cover shot.
Wow, I'm sorry but I don't agree at all. It's true that the beauty of a model is a fundamental part, but a good photographer with experience will know how to light that body and that face (as well as directing the body) to bring out the best in that person. Not to say that they have a very important creative weight. It is a mixture and a combination that end up resulting in the perfect photo.
I don't know anybody who uses Photoshop these days. If they need more than Lightroom, they go to Capture One, or if they want speed and fast workflow they use Luminar Neo. One of Britains most successful fashion photographers has his look nailed down so he only has to adjust white balance, brightness and cropping and he's done. He says agencies and clients want the images the same day or next morning so there is no time for detailed editing. With tethering he can make adjustments so that the images are 90% perfect out of camera, even in Raw. He had Hasselblads and Leicas, but now he stays with two Canon 6D's and the Mk1 Canon 24-70 2.8 and the 80-200 2.8. But most of his shots are with the 24-70. When they wear out, he just buys another and clients say the images are as good as his medium format, without the cost. He should know he had made over a million shots over 5 years.
Photoshop is for changing pixels while those other programs are for altering existing pixels. If you need to composite, liquify, clone, or use Ai to expand your canvas, Photoshop is still the king for all of that. -P
if you truly wanted to do it, you would have done it. you can find cheap old dslrs that work just as fine, cool vintage clothes from thrift market and a friend.
Jeeeez. The video is completely devoid of content. There is no information whatsoever and it's cut so fast that you don't know what's going on anyway. It's an advertising trailer for th photographer at best. Which is fine. But claiming anything else is clickbait.
It doesn't matter what camera you use. Which is why she never brought up " oh I shoot with Blah blah blah". Having a nice camera might make the jobs easier but as for making your pictures better not so much. Angles, Lighting, styling, knowing what looks good on your model, choosing the right model for the shoot etc..
Their was a fashion photography famous. Who did all his shoots on a Point and shoot Film camera. We still have photographers who shoot Medium format film. Who pictures rival digital
What i really hate about those online classes is how out of touch with reality they are... who is this for ? Nobody who has access top such à model or stylist needs this master class and those who need it dont have the portfolio or money to access those People.... Take the same photographer, give her à normal girl with zéro modeling expérience and $50 worth of clothes from h&m... that is what i want to see

Well, it ain't that simple. It's the whole mix.

Hey Guys, Super Video, Awesome content. would you mind sharing more info on the lighting tool that was used in the video. @ 3m.24s
Large octa, probably the Elinchrom Litemotiv Indirect (a _great_ modifier).
Looks like Peter Hurley's studio ....
I like the photos. Seems a shame so much post-editing is needed.
