Thats why i loved the early rapala lures! They gave an instruction manual that taught you how to tie this knot. I've been using it for decades, it's simply the best!
💯
I wish I could find the Rapala f11 perch...greatest lure of all time.
@@Pooreboy1978there are a lot of shops that have that In stock with a quick Google search👍
They still do
@@Pooreboy1978they still make them that’s my go to for walleye fire tiger is my go to if I can’t find the perch
Love how straight forward it is. Also your hand isn’t in the way covering up anything it is very detailed thank you
my favorite knot for hard plastics for sure although I wrap the tag between 4 and 5 times for extra security
AWSOME! 👍 Thank you for the clearest demonstration I have ever seen.
This knot has never failed me. I've caught 5-6 lb bass on this knot no problem. The only time this knot has failed me is when the eye of the hook wasn't welded shut properly and the knot slipped through, but when I reeled in I still had my knot👍🏻
This knot will handle 60lb black drums too
Same started using it last year and never lost a fish again
Watched a lot of demonstrations of this knot. This seem to be among the clearest. Thanks!
Don’t do 3 loops. Only one
@@lokolop1 Why ???!!!
@lokolop1 what? Has one overhand knot and 3 wraps. Surely you don't mean 1 wrap?
@@JustaguynamedsueI’m thinking the same thing
Made it look simple
Rapala knot my first fishing knot.
Close, in the video it's actually a kreh or loop knot. Rapala knot is the same procedure except at the end you thread it back into the other overhand knot you created.
I use this except I finish it with a uni (2x wraps. No more, no less.) and I’ve had absolutely not issues with that way as well :)
Make sure it’s all the way tight before u cut the tag end, so many time I’ve cut the tag and my lure ends up coming off the moment I pull on it
Thanks
The good old Rapala
Another genius
If your fishing for predatory fish with teeth use a wire trace saves you money as lures aren’t cheap 🐟🎣
I have a knot that destroys every loop knot.......it's a saltwater knot but will work anywhere just look up the merril Chandler canoe man knot........it's super fast, super easy, and I've never had a problem with it
Bro if I see any more fishing line today I’m gonna snap😂
Good one!
What kind of security does leaving that space give?
Always spit on the knot because friction will make monofilament lines weak at knot
Doppppe thank you
Thanks for sharing
tarpon loop is my prefered m3thod
So a Rapala loop knot... interesting 🤔...
Why can we knot save these videos to a playlist?
I know 😂, I share the url to myself via text to save
Knot allowed
I know the video is about how to make the know but Why not tie it to snap, snap will help you saving time if you want to change your bait instead of cut line and make know again to the other lures
Snap can straighten if its a big fish.
Loose a big fish to a straightened snap, youll see why its better not to be lazy.
Basically a bowline knot
Keren simpel
Pike will cut this leader😂
A kingsling is so much better for lures
This is the Rapala knot invented in the middle of the last century when fast snap did not exist and carabiners were three times the size of today's ones. Unsafe with thin lines.
Only unsafe if you don't know how to tie it, has same breaking stretch of click knot
@@FattyMateo You can do it perfectly but do you think that a thin line that rubs continuously on the ring of the lure is more resistant than a snap?
Seems like it still lose I don’t like that it has the gap I like my line to be tight on the lure
Or you could just put a split ring on the lure
Gesekan demi gesekan akan membuat tali itu putus
It’s so much easier and faster to just tie a Bowen
And the line spinning causing braids to twist badly
Kreh Loop
It’s called a Rapolla not it should be on the back of the Rapolla Lewers
Rapala Knot.
Rapala knot....simple😅
Rapala knot is what u just showed
I guess it depends where you live everyone where I’m from calls it a loop knot
It’s the Rapala knot shit is older than most of us on here watching this 😂
Hahahahha just looking if someone wrote it. Rapala just show this knot in some of their packages
Fly fishermen, ive recently starting using these as a replacement for tippet rings on my very light setups, you can cinch these quite small around the eye pin on knippers and you end up with a very secure but easy to use connection point between leader and tippet sections, super useful for fly spoons and dry flies with big parachute wings that like to twist up your tippet as well, the rapala loop/ monoloop is great
Why tight to the eye shit sometime I be rockin like a 2 inch loop on my brown trout streamers lol wtf does it matter if the smartest fish in the world doesn’t care 😂 ur almost like suggesting people make it too tight … restricting movement … and for what who knows
Try to feed the tag line back in the overhand knot the opposite way. The tag line should end up pointing towards the lure to avoid collecting weeds along the way...
It was facing the lure
@JTLM_48442 it was slightly, but it was sticking out significantly, i think he means it will end up facing directly towards the lure, not to one side.
@@JTLM_48442if down correctly the tag end will be parallel to the lure
What is the point of this really?
Rapala knot diagram comes with the original floaters
Used to come with all their plugs along with all the color ways and how to tune the lure of it ran funny.
If you’re using lighter line do 5 times around 👍
Didn’t wet the tag? Where’s your spit?
Why u use Nail clippers?
That’s awesome. I will definitely use this knot thanks!
Non slip loop knot you only wrap the tag twice so the tag end is pointing towards you lure which cuts down on it catching weeds and grass
Rapala knot
In germany we say Rapala Knot..
Thats his name.. Not Loopknot
This is a Rapala Knot . I’ve been tying them for 30+ years.
This is not a Rapala Knot, the difference is pretty small, but it's not a Rapala Knot.
You heard here first 😂 it’s not a rapala knot
Then In Germany you would be wrong because this is not a rapala knot it is a kreh loop
@@jaredbradley4095 Been tying a loop knot for 30+ yrs, that’s what you’ve been doing… Lmao. 😂
Is this specifically for lures? I’m new to fishing and have seen many videos on different types of knots. Can one knot be used for all things or is there specific knots you should use on differently lures, hooks, etc?
Specific knots are better for certain things. This type of knot is good for swimming lures and lures with with a lot of vibration, it will also allow slow sinking, small jigs to have a more realistic fall. Also, many knots won't work with braid, always make sure you lick the line when you tie a knot so it won't fray, and always pull TIGHT to make sure it won't slip. Happy fishing
Perfection loop for hooks
@@subjectcode0981chattersbait? Cranks? Frogs?
i got it now but wont remember on the water 🤦♂️😂
thanks man....but now i feel bad for my recent big temu orders of swivel heads :*(
I've never been convinced of the usefulness of loop knots. Just use a clip, it's more practical for swapping lures and unless you're using micro baits the action isn't going to be affected.
He said if you don’t have a split ring or clip available is this knot 🤷🏽♂️.
@@klinatoc missed that, but either way I know there are people who insist on knots even when hardware is available
@@vikipoyta I use clips too, but I’ve forgotten them before 😂, knot does come in handy.
@@vikipoytaelieve me it always affects… sometimes they won’t bite. And when use a Rapala knot suddenly they do. Specially with softbait and strong current…
I never use clips bc I think I get less strikes. I tie each lure on my line directly. I carry a few fishing rods so I can switch quickly, opposed to tying a bunch of knots everyday.
Why does everyone including this guy, insist on tying a fail knot!? Your tag end goes back up to the top loop then sench!
😂😂😂😂 😵💫😵💫😵💫 con las garpa puedes cambiar el señuelo, con el nudo no
That's a Rapala knot
Had to scroll down way too far for this.
MT 4:19
And he said to them, "Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men."
Live live in Minnesota, WI, IL Leave me a message to follow what Jesus said. God bless you all.
To anyone that wants to use this knot, it is not a reliable fishing knot. In testing I have seen, the knot will fail 100% of the by coming undone when pulled hard enough. I'm not saying it won't work on your typical bass because on average it held up to 11lbs until fail using 8lb mono. Not telling anyone they shouldn't use it, but these are facts about this knot you should know before using it.
Do you put the tag end through both the overhand knot and the loop or just the overhand knot?
Good knot and convenient but just know you're losing a couple lbs of strength in your line, especially when you're using small diameter fluoro.
not the "san diego jam knot", that i learned,,,or what I have seen tied on sport boats!,,,overhand constriction loop usually where mono separates,,,
Doing that every time I feel like swapping lures is tedious
Plus I don’t think fish care about fashion
I think
You left out something very important.
You’re wrong! When you feed the line back through the loop, it Hass to be the opposite of the way you went through the first time. Would you feed the line back through the other loop? It has to be the opposite of what you tried the first time..
Let's be honest, a normal knot.. how much will it really affect the swim of the lure? 0.03%??
Jesus Christ died for our sins so we can be free from the punishment of sin. Create a relationship with Jesus before it’s too late. Turn and Give your problems to God.
Palmar knot works best for me personally
When in doubt, double loop Palomar.
Uni on top
This is for loop knots for poppers, stck baits, zara spooks, etc..
Isnt that knot susceptible to breaking? It seems like a swivel will prevent the inevitable wear and tear on the loop. Thoughts, anyone?
Just do a surgeons loop
If yoir using thin line like under 8pound then instead of just putting end through split male a loop with tage and puah loop through then bring tag and put it through the loop coming out of split then tie as directed in video, or do 5 twists , the loop through split amd tag through loop is also a better way to tie blood knot amd can be can done with your eyes closed once practised
I need to learn some knots again. Here for the algorithm.
Big mistake... make the line wet ( spit) before before you close the knot ...
This is similar to but not identical to the Rapala knot. After passing through the lure eye, the tag end goes into the overhand loop on the opposite side that it came out from.
Good if you just want to use 1 lure. It's bad if you wish to change lure.
I cam e to look at the comments about how many wraps are best. 2, 3, 4??? 5!!@???
Forgot to wet the knot before tightening
Its actually a pretty strong knot too. I use on my flouro leaders and usually my whole leader snaps off my braid before that knot fails me . Got some hefty pike on that knot as well as some frog and jig fishing in thick cover
An excellent display Edward! Thanks. I think I did this knot one time by accident!
is it not a thing in america to tie a metal underwire when fishing for predator type fish? overhere we all tie a metal underwire on out like before the lure so they dont bite the line and snap it
FYI this knot is very prone to breaking when compared to other common knots.
Now try that with a 5x or 6x tippet
There would be no reason to run this knot on tippet that small
I’ve seen something similar, except you twist it 8-10 times
Congratulations. You read the instructions on the box 😂😂😂😂
And renamed it to sound more important
Pointless as you will be forever cutting the line 🤔just use a quick relise easy to change lures 👍
So the snaps are worst compared to the knot because of mobility?
Go through that same over hand knot 3 times and you won’t have to do all that twisting 👍😅
But if you're fishing for something with teeth like pike then you have to use a wire trace.
There’s a way easier and overall better knot for that.
senar ukuran berapa bro?
И для чего козе гармошка? Это ведь при каждой смене приманки радо новый узел вязать?
This knot is similar to the great Rapala knot. But not the same.😉
i used to tie rapala knot all the time, but then i stick to loop knot bcos it's simpler and as strong
Thank you sir
En nu bijt de snoek je lijn kapt 🤷♂️🤷♂️
And pike will bite it off without problems..
ធ្លាប់របូតអត់បង❤
Its called the leftys loop knot. Very useful.
No litres I can tell y'all fish the baby game, 😂😂
