We went from Bach to this? Glad humanity is moving forward.

Each performance costs you new bow hairs. By chance there will be maybe enough audience to refund the replacement

I applaud these kind of investigative techniques, but didn't really think the piece was very engaging... Perhaps it's better live...

For interesting comparison, here's a "alternative" réalisation of similar techniques/timbres by a great improviser.... ruclips.net/video/uoNwF97Uw7Q/видео.html

Amazing performer awful piece, pretensious to the core and disrispectful of the nobelty of the mighty cello. Where are the berios, ligetis and xenakis of the 21 first century to save us from this smuggish "avant garde"? treating instruments like a vulgar wooden box with this invasive "extended techniques" Completly ridiculous and devoid of any meaning besides being "experimental" and "shocking"

i agree with you to a certain degree. My teacher is crazy about lachenmann and i'm trying to give him a chance. His work is interesting in its implications rather than its results, similar in my opinion to the work of cage. His stuff is also a lot more fun if you have the scores. I'd be glad to share. Also i mean he's pretty old so if we are counting him as 21st, i would say Grisey and Murail are absolutely amazing. Beat Furer is another amazing composer. Joshua fineberg too!

Hooooooly shit, you sound so smug. Just because you don't like it doesn't make it bad or "disrespectful". You obviously don't know shit about the genre of noise nor avant-garde. not enough to know how fucking fire that shit was. go listen to Merzbow & culture yourself you stuck up nerd lmao
