    I definitely know the feeling. I just now started keeping SPS and my first piece was a green slimer. I wake up in the morning and run over to the tank to see how it’s doing every morning.

    Newer to the Hobie (coming up to one year) and I've noticed even the short time prices has gone up and the names have gone wild. Coming from the GTA I know all about these "super rainbow ultra" names. People are jumping on these band wagons and making a large profit. That's why I appreciate what you've been doing for the hobby with these videos and cheap frags you sell. If you didn't sell acro's for such a great price I probbaly would have given up the dream for a mixed reef and just went lps. Being able to keep the SPS and LPs together in my tank has taught me a lot and you've kept me going. 🤘

    I just putting together my first saltwater tank and I love watching your videos. I learn lots about corals and it helps me decide when I’m ready what I’m going to stock my tank with. I think I’m going to go with a LPS tank so torches will definitely be on my to get list. Luckily I’m only a couple hours away from you so I’ll definitely be taking a drive when I’m ready.

    Man for 150 dollars(U.S.) I would be lucky to get a dime size head torch. If I lived on the East coast, it would be definitely worth it to visit you in Toronto. The names don't mean nothing. I bought 4 torches so far and I don't even remembered what the seller called them, I bought them because I wanted a green coral, a purple one, darker green one, and a gold one and they were under 100. That is what I cared about.

  • @EazyP_Z
    @EazyP_Z 3 года назад

    I think you are right about people caring more for expensive animals. I'm a caretaker so I'm jumping out of bed to see how that coral is doing that got injured, scraped or dropped or brown with potential. I love to see (SPS esp.) healing and new tissue closing over that injury or basing out over the super glue.
    There's another factor to extra care for corals to me. I've had the great opportunity to get frags locally: Walt Disney, Indo Gold Torch, etc. for a fraction of the price. However, even though it was cheaper, I feel a responsibility to develop that coral so it that fellow hobbyist/seller has a crash or a loss, I can give them back a piece of what they gave me. Like a local co-op so that we can keep local strains going.
    (Holy sidetrack Batman) 😂

      Torches do better with other LPS because they like higher nutrients, mine does well in .07 PO4 and 10 NO3. Mixed reef tanks are tough to keep.

    But let me ask do we care for our dogs or cats depending on how much you paid for them?
    I have a free Serberian Husky all white with silver eyes i gor for free and i have pure blood poodle which cost me $3k and a irish doodle that cost me $2k do i care for the more expensive dogs more? No i do not i care for all of them the same way
