Russian dub is actually really good in some cases, for example Sukuna's voice in jjk in rus dub rivals the original and demon slayer dub is even better than the original imo (inosuke's voice is absolutely the best in rus dub), both titles are voiced by the same studio btw (studioband). I generally watch anime in original with subs, but when this studio is doing the dub, I actually prefer it to the original
p.s. I hope when Snezhnaya releases hoyo will hire at least one Russian dude to check all the character and location names and make sure they make actual sense and are pronounced somewhat correctly, because considering how poorly Hollywood usually handles it, I'm scared to see how hoyo end up dealing with Russian names
Я просто в дичайшем восторге от СтуйдийнойБанды. Если есть их озвучка - всегда жду только её. Единственное, что меня просто повергло в расстройство, так это не до конца озвученная Кукла. Как раз после 9й серии начало "событий" и они так и не закончили работы. После того, как 9 серий было просмотрено с их озвучкой было до ужаса тяжело после переключаться на другую озвучку или даже оригинал, т.к. все они далеки от актёрской "школы" банды.
И да, их голоса и игра почти всегда лучше даже оригинала.
Но всё же должен отдать должное: очень много талантливых ребят и в других командах озвучивания - Анилибрия, ДримКаст.

As a Russian speaker, I often find it amusing when some characters use humorous variants instead of their full name or its abbreviation
In English, it would sound like "Sammy, the deputy manager"

The Russian language has 33 letters when English has only 27, so such names are translated much easier and better than into English. At least I think this is one of the main reasons

As a person who's native language is Russian (I've been studying English on my own for *ten* , freaking, years, to get to my current level), seeing this video on one of my favorite reaction channels just broke my mind. But I admit, russian voice actors are very talented people!
And even though my current level allows me to flawlessly appreciate and enjoy all the American media I consume, there are still major exceptions of games and movies that are just so much nicer to play with Russian VO!
Can you recommend some of those games/movies you like better with Russian vo. Russian is my 1st language and the language of my family, but being born and raised in England I've forgotten so much and never really studied it on my own. I'm trying to immerse myself more by listening to it more than just speaking it with my mum. I'd really appreciate it! :)

My long term wish for Genshin is for this game to gain the option to add the ability to choose the language of individual characters. Arknights has it and it allows you to choose the one you like the most AND they don't have to add an entire cast each time they add a language.

Russian fandub is insane because people do that since 90-s for films games etc and even if that was not made officially, they still did their best to act good so even when new generation of actors came, they continued this path
Thankfully, Mihoyo already recognised one of the russian fandub teams and sponsored them for both Genshin and HSR. I hope someday they'd let russian dubbers to make official russian dub, but I guess the devs don't want players to start hating them for letting russians do something and it's kinda reasonable sadly :c

But it is true that the current political climate (at least in the western part of the world) is generally very anti-russian to the point where everything russian is being ostracized, including language, and even the completely apolitical things. It all just became as dumbed down as "russian = bad and evil", all thanks to a certain well-known war.
So it's no surprise whatsoever if businesses don't want to get involved, nowadays if you get seen being friendly/non-discriminatory with russian community you get bad looks and your reputation takes a hit, and for businesses you get stock/share price going down. Aka getting russian dub is complicated.

Really nice to see such a reaction from no-native speakers. I always liked the voice and manner of the person who voice acting as Pedrolino here, and yes the fan dubbing anime team where we can here the most of these talented actors is called Anilibria (and pancakeser), and despite this team is one of the most popular fandubbing team, I don't think these persons are too popular, we can't even say we know or remember their names or nicknames. I find this a bit upset. They deserve to be recognized as Genshin official voices as you see, but the world is cruel and unfair place, so we should laugh at it's order and let it and all it's false celestial gods down. The Fatui Organization waits for you to join.
The studio they are working with should partner up with HoYoverse! If I am correct, there is a French dub somewhere and they were able to contact HoYo and asked for their permission to use the existing lines.. If this info I got is correct, I am speculating sometime when Fontaine gets released, a French dub would be added. Now imagine if alongside Szechnaya, a Russian dub would be added too.
that is incorrect. The French dub was a fan sub done by official french VA's of animes. That studio had their video sponsored by genshin BUT it was them asking for Genshin to hire them. It wasn't them actually being added in.

Ruzzia doesn't generate enough money for it, like the only reason why ruzzian is even supported in text is bc there's a lot of speakers. 6.5% of whole player base are ruzzians, but they generate less money than players from Belgium.

If I'm not wrong it's dubbed by the "Studio Band", which easily surpasses many official dubs. They're semi professionals as a whole, but the actors are top notch of their category (in the country)

Yeah, russian fan dubbing, especially for anime, often better then English professional dubs for anything. It's just that not a lot of anime get official dubs... ever, so we ended up with ton of voice actors who have perfect voices for specific anime types of characters ahahah. But even in general, voice acting in russia is really developed cz we dub every single movie and series. Some channels actually buy fan dubs when tv buys right to show series. I remember it happened for sure with supernatural and Rick and Morty
If you guys read the manga, this collie voice really match her in my mind, since collie is a little kind of tomboy in the manga, a fragile but strong willed women with dark background character.
Apparently russian voice overs for genshin are really good.. Including this guys work and pancakeser's. I honeslty liked the last one a lot better but anyways-

От pancakeser лучше. Там и голоса лучше подходят, и больше эмоций. В этой же озвучке упущены хорошие моменты для эмоций, как например когда Арлекино говорит заткнуться

There's also a version by pancakeser that sounds very cool and authentic too. They have already translated quite a few videos on both genshin and hsr. For example, I like their Kafka much more than any other. But that's due to the fact that I'm Russian.

для меня тоже звучит странновато, хотя сама по себе озвучка неплохая. Сравнивая с другими озвучками(английской и японской), мне лично не хватило глубины в голосе у некоторых персонажей. Зная какой порой бывает тембр у мужчин, слышать довольно поверхностный голос так себе... Хотя Пьеро получился очень даже.

Ah these people voiced SO MUCH anime characters in russian dub. And they're so good at it that even if you recognize a VA it doesn't bother you, they SELL their character really well every time. Tried a tiny bit of voice acting and how the fuck are they doing it is the only question lol

Pancakeser actually made a better dub than this. It's much better, I mean it. They literally hired official voice actors, who participated in much more bigger projects. Pedrolino, for example, has the voice of Diego from "Ice Age" which was given by Alexander Gruzdiov and so on. I would really recommend you to also watch that video
