This is a DIY tutorial on how to remove the front bumper on a 2002 Lexus IS300. If you ever need to change your HID bulbs, HID ballasts, Headlight Housing, or need to do anything cosmetic to your front bumper cover, this is it. I hope you find this video useful.

This is exactly what I needed to see! I'll be replacing my turn signal bulbs soon and I was worried that removing the bumper was going to be a much bigger pain in the ass.
Thanks bro , couldn't tell if I needed to switch the bulbs or the ballast but I know everything is original on my 02 so I'm going to switch out everything

Any advice on how to adjust the vertical aim for the low beam? My driver's side is much too high.
I would look up Eric the Car Guy because what he used was the lines on his garage door. I would've done the same

Good vid. I know my ballast is bad. I moved the in non working light to the working one and the bulb fires. Then then bulb in the working light the non working light, bulb does not fire. I wish you would have showed the ballast. I'm concerned that the ballast is in light housing and not as simple as being outside of it.

Thank you for the video, it help a lot when I was trying to change my bumber! but recently I had an issue with my ballast going bad. So I just wanted to ask, is it an easy process after you take out the headlight to change the ballast?
Once you take out the headlight, its easy to replace the ballasts

having trouble putting the bottom screws back in to secure the bumper to the liners
Quick question I'm going to install a new bumper for my IS 300.... The new one is already painted and on the driver side there seems to be a bracket that holds the bumper it broke off ... Do you know where I can get one??? To replace broken one ....
If Rockauto.com or eBay doesn't have it, then junkyards are your next best bet

at 10:21 what did you do to continue tightening the bumper to get rid of the gap? i noticed in the video it cut off and transitioned immediately to where you already tightened it and that’s the exact issue i’m having is trying to get that section lined up haha. thanks!
Yes, I made sure to tighten ALL of the fasteners as tightly as possible

No more than an hour if you have the right tools. If you have power tools, even faster

My Parking Sensor fell out & inside the car I was wondering if you have to take the bumper off to put it back in or just unscrew from the bottom & stick your hand in to reatach to the bumper

If you can remove the bumper cover and fender wells without having to remove the bumper you should be okay

I can't figure out how to remove and then install a new ballast without opening the lens itself. Any tips?

I didn't have to remove the lens. I just unscrewed the bulb then the harness
+ZFlyingVLover Nevermind. Theres a 10mm screw on the back of the lens that you can turn to move the inside of the lens forward and back so that you can pull out or put in the ballast connector.

When u buy new headlights do they come with lights installed in then?
My headlights are still original so I wouldn't know for now

Behind the headlights but underneath after you loosen or remove the bumper cover.

If you replaced the bulb and it still doesnt work, then its the ballast

I had a HID bulb go bad in mine (started turning purple and then finally went). I didn't have to take off the bumper but it was a pain in the ass. Sometimes I wish I had small chinese hands lol

LMAO. I'm korean, and i can change the bulbs without taking the headlight/bumper off. thank god im asian. but my ballast went out :( so i have to take them out anyway.....
