This is first of its kind detailed carnatic watch and play series that includes aspects of talam, lesson, playing in tune, vocal assistance to learn the instrument. Thank you for your efforts ma'am.
Actually speaking it's an excellent idea mam. I'm a beginner of veena playing. Initially i was struggling to get the metronome beats. After listening to this I have downloaded this video and kept saved in my mobile. I try to play along with this video. Over a period of time, the miracle happened. I almost matched your playing. I got very much happy🎉🎉☺️ Main advantages 1. Motivational for beginners 2. It becomes group kacheri - vocal, metronome beats and your playing plus whomever tries to play along with you. In initial stages of learning, self motivation won't work all the time. Sometimes we may got bored or even frustrated when playing alone in home. But when trying to play along with this video, i never got bored or frustrated, instead got motivation and felt like group session activities 😌 3. First step of learning anything is IMITATION. This imitation is possible with these type of videos 4. Frankly speaking, students need practical reference videos like this mam. Learning musical instrument is a fine skill. This will not come in single day. It need more time. Like this kind of teaching , really helps a lot 5. Such a structured video it is. Our human brains can forgot the past learning. This kind of video documentation will be useful for us to revise also 6. Repetition is must needed for learning any skill. Like a newborn baby repeatedly listening the words from mother, father, and the entire family. Over a period of time, the child starts speaking monosyllable words and so on. Like that, listening over a long period of time will create a drastic changes. This much structured, conceptual video i have never seen anywhere Thank you so much mam for this wonderful idea🙏
Thank you for this basics Mam. I was looking for something like this. Your teachings are very easy to understand even complicated things in music. Thank you.

Thank you very much Madam. This is very useful for beginner like me with no carnatic music background. Could please help me with tips/ technique to improve the speed of left hand. Thank you again
... thanks mam.... now i got an idea how to play it in guitar.... i seen your first video how to set it ... but was confused how to play three speed on each of 1-14
You set the metronome to speed 40 and don't change it after that. Now play your first lesson of Sarali varisai in 3 speeds. This means 1 note/beat for first speed, 2 notes/beat for second speed and 4 notes / beat for third speed . Once this is done move to the second lesson and do the same thing , until the 10th lesson. 11-14 is played together.
@@malaviswanathan thanks madam, at 50 yrs now got time to learn guitar, i tried many in delhi but nothing can match our carnatic style of teaching building basics .....able to find one music school from chennai joined online classes
@@malaviswanathan So kind of you, appreciate your prompt reply, please advise also the use of plectrum. Can I grow my finger nails and play instead, as the sound is much sharper.
Thank you so much mam. I kindly request you to put a video on how to change veena strings ( with guitar keys attached) i recently changed my veena string by myself. tuning changes/drops with in 30 mins of playing it. it is so frustrating. Pl let me know if this can be fixed.
does it means the finger movement speed is approx First Speed - 1 note per beat speed 45 bpm Second speed-2 notes/beat speed 90 bpm Third speed - 4 notes /beat speed 180 bpm
... if i sing along i can play in three speed upto 9th lessson... but if i stick to 1234 1234, as instructed by tutor ... lot of mistake happening metronome is set 4/4 80 speed
How to play third speed?? Facing difficulty.kindly give tips Another thing is gamakas..what are all the swaras getting gamakas?? In all 3 speeds how its differentiated
The best way to get third speed, will be to practice with different tempos of the metronome.Prashant another idea is to play all your lessons on the thicker. third string so that the finger will move faster on the thinner first string. Whatever you might do, at the end of the day third speed comes with sheer practice. While speed comes with habit, gamakas happen with experience. Wait until your intermediate lessons to understand how gamakas operate.

Hello madam its really a very nice concept which helps a lot

Sarali Varisai requires only one pitch. Please keep it at D# or E

Hi ma’am, very clear with the metronome …
what is the metronome setting?
ruclips.net/video/DAiXekZAj6g/видео.html. Thanks Malar. Watch this video and adjust your setting to 45
❤️❤️
Thanks
does it means the finger movement speed is approx
First Speed - 1 note per beat speed 45 bpm
Second speed-2 notes/beat speed 90 bpm
Third speed - 4 notes /beat speed 180 bpm
Perfect. I would suggest you keep the speed to 35 or 40 initially. Second and third speed will be manageable.
... if i sing along i can play in three speed upto 9th lessson... but if i stick to 1234 1234, as instructed by tutor ... lot of mistake happening metronome is set 4/4 80 speed
Then do a sing along. At the end of it your Talam has to be perfect whichever way you play
