How many pairs of shoes do you own?
About 15 total but I don’t wear them all . I’m in sneakers like brooks most of the time .
3 but I'd like a couple more

I think I had around 20 pairs, but by the time I'm done with downsizing, should be around 6 left. And I want to keep it under 10 from now on. 😂

5 pairs living in Spain, 4 seasons. All versatile quality shoes.
What a timing! I'm actually downsizing my shoes right now. Selling most of them online. Some are brand new, never worn! And I'm gonna get all of them out. All!!! And replacing them with barefoot type of shoes. Better for my health and they're so comfy.
It seems that I'm healing from my shopping addiction and replacing it with a selling addiction. 😂 It's fun! I'm letting go of so many things. And truly letting go! Including the idea of fashion. I want to have a wardrobe where there's only stuff I like and feel good in, and use!
And financially how does it sum up ? How much you paid for your “addiction” which you cannot recover from your sales ?

@@GabrielisG that’s the difference between us ;) I am tracking my expenses to make afterwards conclusions and statistics;)
16 pair and probably one will “die” this summer. I never declutterred shoes, I wear them to death. Good quality shoes (but not luxury brands) are expensive (my budget is 200 EUR), so I keep them as long as repair is no longer possible. I buy only classic styles in black and brown.

Haha my summer sandals literally broke beyond repair a few days ago, so I had to go out of my way to get a new pair that would fit and be practical.
ive released many shoes but certainly was a final decision I had to make to let go or sell them. Now the trick is not to buy more unless needed.
This is my push to give away my good quality shoes that I no longer wear.
I wear my new rocks and my truey jeans tho
I had 2 pair of leather boots I donated to the homeless shelter! I never wore them.

Perhaps 20 pairs BUT I battle to find shoes etc that don’t hurt me, so I buy what fits well. Of those 20 pairs I wear about 8 of them regularly. Another 3 are winter stuff. Ok … I see what you’re saying. I have too many.
I loved TK's shoe joke.
For me, the letting go of shoes is letting go of goals. I had the cute party shoes, fancy shoes, for the times I was going to go out, have fun, celebrate life. That doesn't happen. And letting go of the shoes seems like I am admitting it never will. I downsized, but kept 2 pairs. So if that day of celebration finally comes, I'm ready! 👡 😊

I love that Josh is now in my subconscious too just like the tortilla story, yesterday my grandson was at baseball practice for one hour and it was too far a drive to go home and come back so I dropped into DSW shoes…did I need anything? No was the answer but I noticed they had buy one Sandal get the second pair half off! I tried on, picked out and even went as far as the checkout….only to tell the cashier I had changed my mind on the purchase!
Saved myself over $100 but mostly saved some peace of mind!!

I relate to the shoe quandary... but it is art supplies for me. I identify as an artist even if I go years between picking up a paint brush

I have a pair of sneakers, water shoes, rain boots, and hiking shoes. It only took me 5 years to get to this stage.
My dogs decluttered my so very beautiful and irreplaceable shoes. They ate one of each pair. I am traumatized. But, now that I have 7 pairs of my lesser favourite ones (my dogs have expensive taste) I don't know how many or which to take in my next move. Thinking of buying more is not guaranteed cos I don't know if it will be in budget. The main issue is, I am trying to travel carry on only for the first time in my life, but the shoes don't fit in the bag.

2 heeled boots-both could go after this spring- 1 pair is starting to hurt my feet and the other pair I don’t wear

Exactly. I would have froze them and saved on gas and time having to purchase them again...granted I am Mexican so I would eat them sooner rather than later. LOL!
I think it's about time the minimalists change their name to ''the maximizers", considering how meager life has become throughout the world. We really don't want to minimize more, we want richer more sustenance based lives.

What's more important, to love what I do or to love who I am? May have a tenuous relationship to shoes; though I love ankle boots 👌

no joke, i took a nap after listening to this, and in my dream, I visited someones house, and they left the house in my shoes and I was SO MAD. haha
