It's so realistic putting them into a more "human setting" makes them all go crazy. I know a user for another channel that just leaves a comment entry open while they watch a video, writes all their comments there with timestamps as they go, and then posts the whole thing in a single comment when the video's over. That might be better than making a bunch of separate comments? Less effort too, and while it's not as much an issue for these since it's pretty obvious for all of them, it also makes it nice for knowing exactly what you might be responding to when it's not immediately clear.
Gangle is a brilliant representation of using masking as a coping mechanism for depression. The idea of having someone tell you they prefer it when you are hurting emotionally rather than when you are trying to be cheerful and feeling good about yourself. It feels so good to see the smile through the tears showing she finally found true happiness in the circus. I really love her character so much more after that episode.
I love the foreshadowing when Gangle talks about drawing manga being an unrealistic dream and then in the last seen, you see her drawing it. She was projecting her frustrations.
gangle is basically like hiding depression...she wears the mask and acts like everything is fine, and when she takes it off, she shows her real feelings, and she ALMOST abstracted before pomni stopped her. jax and (high) ragatha say it was easier to deal with gangle when she was sad. peak episode.
and also her comedy mask is apparently just like this, the only thing is that it breaks easily so she doesn’t have to hide her emotions like in this episode
The fact that as soon as Jax leaves the building he just, stops smiling really indicates more about his character, like as soon as he’s alone he just gives up on the “smile all the time” thing, I can’t wait to learn more about him.
Gummigoo showing up again and not recognizing Pomni was such a gut punch. Her first true friend in this world, and he technically never met her. Tragic.
I don’t know, at the end when he and his friends are leaving Spudsy’s and Pomni comes to say bye, Gummigoo looks a little sad. That leads me to believe that Gummigoo did actually remember her but didn’t say anything in fear of Caine possibly erasing him from existence or he didn’t exactly remember her but something lingered in his head that she might be familiar to him. Again I don’t know but that look he gave her was concerning.
This episode honestly felt far more "miserable" and "sinister" compared to the others, I guess this just shows why Caine prefers to make the more crazy-showstopping adventures.
Ragatha being completely incapable of saying a single even minorly negative thing without being wasted, to the point that Gangle comments that it's hard to tell when she's being sincere or when she's just forcing herself, is far too real lol
Hearing "I prefer you when you're sad" hit like a truck, poor Gangle!! I've been there. Also, the whole horses, tea party, dancing lessons thing... Ragatha strikes me as rich girl who maybe was raised to live under strict expectations. Hence, people pleasing tendencies.
My mom's like her. She had horses she adored, and has an emotionally abusive now rich, now ex- husband. Spent years labeling her things she wasn't and kept putting the blame onto her, she raised the kids wrong, she did everything wrong and he had to show her how to properly do it. And she just excused his actions while bending over backwards to make everyone else happy thinking other people's happiness was her own... Right until the jerk shattered her whole world and she had to address all the issues all at once with interest.
In this episode you can clearly see the difference in the character relationships based on how Gangle treats her "employees". She gave Jax a hard time (for obvious reasons), she at least attempted to be helpful with Ragatha when she offered to lend a hand while Ragatha was on the sauce. Since Zooble was actually doing their job Gangle didn't have anything against them and relied on them when she was struggling. When it came to Pomni she was initially frustrated with her since she wasn't doing her job and was stalking the gummy gator, however later on she was at least willing to open up a little bit to Pomni about some of her feelings before she ultimately decided to put on both her literal and her figurative masks back on so she could go back to work. Ultimately Gangle at least tried to be supportive and helpful to those she considered her "friends" and was more aggressive and unreasonable with Jax who has been (presumably) picking on her for multiple years now.
Pomni wasn't able to talk to Gangle much directly, because Gangle instinctively masks when she's overwhelmed and doesn't want to show her true feelings, but Pomni choosing to close the shift for her did wonders. Probably even more than Pomni will ever know. This episode shows something really important: the little kindnesses you do for people can mean a lot. Not everyone can or will open up to you, but doing nice things for them can mean more than you realize. I like how this show offers real, multiple ways to support someone.
As someone who’s like Gangle, I have a friend who did something that might’ve not seemed like a big deal to most, but for me, it saved me from self destructing that night
It’s really interesting that Pomni has become a bit of a shining light in the darkness that is the Digital Circus. Even if it didn’t last long, she brought hope to Gumigoo that he did matter. She gave Kinger a moment where he was the most coherent he’s been in the entire series. And in the most recent episode, she likely saved Gangle from abstracting.
I don't think it's her favorite number, just an in-joke she has with her friend Zeurel. 57 has showed up at least once in every episode of Zeurel's show "Monkey Wrench" too.

The "smile" that gangle showed before throwing herself to the road wasn't happiness, it was a "I can't with it anymore" smile, hits hard doesn't it? (sorry for my English)
She didn't throw herself to the road, though? She tripped while spinning around. That's why she has that moment of shock when she realizes she's falling.
Yeah it is kind of odd how quite a few reactors think she is actually happy there when it is pretty clear she is on the verge of breaking and throws herself into oncoming traffic.
17:15 it makes me think maybe pomni can suggest to caine putting gummigoo in more adventures like why not? it's not against the rule of having real people and npc together in the circus like caine fears and it looks like the adventures can be anything and their purpose is to entertain and keep their minds healthy and stimulated as ragatha said before, i bet pomni would be so excited for these adventures if gummigoo was in it and that applies to others too they can suggest whatever they like in these adventures if only caine listens XD
Fun fact! The little convo with Pomni in Zooble's room is a nod to a running gag within the fandom, what with her having a unicorn horn, what with her favorite catchphrase, "It's possible..." I died when I saw this lmao, sometimes I forget Gosseworx has Tumblr
Maybe that’s the reason Jax breaks gangles mask all the time, he knows something that we don’t know yet or he knew that gangle hides her true feelings behind a mask, there’s something about Jax that we don’t know yet but I hope we find out soon
I know everyone wants Gummigoo to remember, but given he is just an npc, it's fairly likely this is not even the same Gummigoo that Pomni previously interacted with. He'd merely be a copy and paste of the default npc asset.
I’m surprised it took you so long to realize she was out of the deep fryer The reason Ragatha is acting like that is because she got the stupid sauce in her eye I don’t think Gummigoo remembers but made an educated guess so his look might’ve been a silent apology for not being able to remember
It's hard to say if Gummigoo remembers anything or not. He did start to reach out to her after she said his name, which he had not yet mentioned. So I like to think he does. Everyone's going to have their own ideas about that. But the beautiful thing about it is that nobody is right or wrong, it's just what it means to each person.
This episode is dark, that last scene where Gangle gets hit by the truck, is what does it for me. When someone with severe depression is suddenly happy, it’s often a sign that they’re committing to suicide. She doesn’t trip onto the road, she basically does a trust fall before realizing what she’s doing, it’s actually really tragic…
21:02 yea that is the second person to mention that, but hearing from Ragatha probably hurts a lot worse than Jax I think the combo actually makes it worse, hearing from someone who picks on you, and followed up and confirmed by someone who's nice to you, probably why her attitude changed drastically after hearing it from her Ouch...
ragatha is not as nice as she seems. i dont quite remember, but i think in the first episode or pilot it was mentioned how she fake laughed at kofmo's (member we saw abstract) jokes. she just seems to people please like you said, being her friend may be a bit difficult because she is usually unable to tell how she actually feels (unless you are jax)
Go back and rewatch the scene where Gangle interrupts Pomni trying to talk to Gummigoo. Watch Gummigoo in the background of it, and feel your heart shatter into a million pieces.
All of the indie shows I’ve watched I have only found enjoyment in watching them, but they have never managed to end up in my top 5 favorite shows. I’m not sure how but the day I watched the premiere for The Amazing Digital Circus, it managed to hop into my top 5 favorite animated shows.
11:35 HOLY SHIT GUYS I FIGURED IT OUT!!!! Didn't realize until I watched it again here, but when Jax says it isn't in Caine's nature, it's because he knows Caine on a deeper level. Jax isn't an NPC or a fellow AI, he's a programmer. He worked at C&A, probably a lead designer on this project, and had a major hand in writing Caine's code. I'd even go so far as to say he's Abel. I believe C&A stands for Caine and Abel, and if you don't know the Bible story, they were brothers, the first and second children of Adam and Eve. Cain killed Abel after Abel made a sacrifice more pleasing to God. My guess is that Caine "killed" Abel by forcing his consciousness into the game, and now he's Jax. I would also assume that he acts like a jerk and won't talk about his past to keep suspicion off of him, since he doesn't want the others to know who he is. Odds are they all know him personally.
5:38 Ok I'll take your word for it; McDonalds won't be my first job when I graduate high school lol Also 18:33 i wanna believe Gangle’s real name was Gabriela
She looked back at the Gloink Queen, this ridiculous monster being a guest at the fast food joint. Like he is. She accepts that Gummy Goo wont ever remember her.
I like that Jax finally experiences some humility and experiences someone else's anger [Gangles frustrations] and he feels like a better character now instead of just being a one note asshole cause he doesn't care about anything other than himself Also, Gangle's real face is her sad mask. She's literally just naturally depressed. No matter how many of the masks she wears they will all either fall or break.
TL,DR; Gangle is Bipolar and I yap way too much about how bleak this episode is (it's my favorite. It's the uncanny vibes I've been waiting for-) Gangle is Bipolar!! She literally tells Jax she's having a manic episode!! You can see all of the manic highs and depressive lows. Ragatha triggering a low, Jax gets the brunt of the mania throughout the entire episode, and then pomni triggers a high by offering to close instead (which leads to spontaneously sprinting off towards the side of the road-) Y'all immediately jumping straight to depression is exactly why many of those with Bipolar are misdiagnosed and given the wrong medications. Antidepressants won't do shit for Manic highs, which are just as hazardous as the depressive lows when left unmanaged; you can see how Gangle's relationships suffer when the mania interferes, and just as much so for the lows. Gangle's instability paired with the overtly mundane adventure makes this episode so good and honestly so fuckin bleak. That's a reality Gangle actually lived and remembers, a job position she'd held before and quite possibly struggled with due to having bigger dreams and an unmanaged disorder; now she's doing it for fun, as an adventure. A piece of Gangle's life had just been smashed up and smeared out as a fun little activity, and that isn't fun after the first couple hours. Jax says it himself when he leaves. They feel the dissonance between reality and what they're actually doing when they have to face something so simple, something normal. They know this something they'll never truly experience ever again, if at all. Pomni is once again, the oddball, more focused on GummiGoo's model showing up, and I think it's because she's new. She didn't experience years of nonsense only to just, work fast food. To suddenly have a basic *normal* job again. Bleak. It's just sad and bleak from their perspective.
29:54 Did anyone else watching the episode for the first time get a feeling Gangle was about to break out into song or something. I mean it wouldn't fit the show or her character but idk, something about the setting and vibes of the scene made me think that at first.
2:59 blink blink. You must be thinking of a different game. Cooking Companions is about cannibalism. (You literally cook your companions) You are probably thinking Overcooked or one of those games. 24:07 Those are fighting words Gangle! One of my all time least favorite sentences! (Obviously I have worked in fast food) 31:00 "Well that was an accident." Was it though? Or was it intentional? *shrug*

OK giving us back Gummigoo but he doesn't remember anything is just cruel! XD
Fun fact! The little convo with Pomni in Zooble's room is a nod to a running gag within the fandom, what with her having a unicorn horn, what with her favorite catchphrase, "It's possible..." I died when I saw this lmao, sometimes I forget Gosseworx has Tumblr
16:40 "I thought I saw recognition. Now I know. You fake it. You pretend to remember to get a pat on the head from the doctors." - Memento, 2001
Love the Hooty all coiled up in the background. Can't wait for your reaction to season 2!
I wonder, that scene with Gangle getting hit by a truck, maybe this is some sort of afterlife thing, and all the characters died
As a person with severe depression and the habit of masking myself, this episode hit me harder than when that truck nearly hit Gangle
I was actually waiting for your reaction AHHH ❤❤
"57" is a recurring number in the show because I think it is Gooseworx's favorite number? Idk, i heard that from a video
The fact that Ragatha began acting drunk, after she got "sauced" is very funny
It's stupid sauce
Finally, someone noticed Kinger! But this episode really reminds us that this is a psychological drama/mystery, and not just some tooney horror show.
Can I just say, W hoodie. Mob Psycho is peak
This is my favorite episode so far!! Now I can say I'm certain that I love the show ^^
I just realized: Gooseworx's fav number is 57!! That's why!
Will you be reacting to the owl house season 2 at some point? It gets so good as it goes on!
The Raggedy ann reference threw me.
Maybe that’s the reason Jax breaks gangles mask all the time, he knows something that we don’t know yet or he knew that gangle hides her true feelings behind a mask, there’s something about Jax that we don’t know yet but I hope we find out soon
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS SINCE EPISODE CAME OUT :3
I know everyone wants Gummigoo to remember, but given he is just an npc, it's fairly likely this is not even the same Gummigoo that Pomni previously interacted with. He'd merely be a copy and paste of the default npc asset.
I love your Mob shirt and I also had to PAUSE the moment I saw gummy goo too hahaha I needed a moment for myself and Pomni
I’m surprised it took you so long to realize she was out of the deep fryer
The reason Ragatha is acting like that is because she got the stupid sauce in her eye
I don’t think Gummigoo remembers but made an educated guess so his look might’ve been a silent apology for not being able to remember
My theory is with Gangle, it just depends what Mask she is wearing that changes her personality
1:29 I don’t think the did it intentionally just he didn’t care that he either
Loved this episode! Especially the reappearance of Gummigoo.
(Side note: Do you plan on reacting to season 2 of The Owl House?)
21:02 yea that is the second person to mention that, but hearing from Ragatha probably hurts a lot worse than Jax
I think the combo actually makes it worse, hearing from someone who picks on you, and followed up and confirmed by someone who's nice to you, probably why her attitude changed drastically after hearing it from her
Ouch...
ragatha is not as nice as she seems. i dont quite remember, but i think in the first episode or pilot it was mentioned how she fake laughed at kofmo's (member we saw abstract) jokes. she just seems to people please like you said, being her friend may be a bit difficult because she is usually unable to tell how she actually feels (unless you are jax)
I'm like 80% sure Gangle jumped into traffic on purpose, and was happy that she was or something.
Zooble kind of gives of J(drdt) vibes. The voice and personality are kind of similar.
i honestly wouldnt mind living in a world like tadc in a situation where my irl life was just in shambles
One person found and clicked this video within the first 26 seconds of the upload! Just wanted to point that out.
5:38 Ok I'll take your word for it; McDonalds won't be my first job when I graduate high school lol
Also 18:33 i wanna believe Gangle’s real name was Gabriela
She looked back at the Gloink Queen, this ridiculous monster being a guest at the fast food joint. Like he is. She accepts that Gummy Goo wont ever remember her.
Fun fact: in the German dub the gloinks are named Uzi, V, and Cyn
My favourite Akamatsu
I love how zooble is the most sane person this ep
I like that Jax finally experiences some humility and experiences someone else's anger [Gangles frustrations] and he feels like a better character now instead of just being a one note asshole cause he doesn't care about anything other than himself
Also, Gangle's real face is her sad mask. She's literally just naturally depressed. No matter how many of the masks she wears they will all either fall or break.
I honestly think this was my favourite episode
22:04 Cane rn: man Christmas came early 😂🤭😂💅
28:02 i think gangle was about to abstract she was not ok
poor ragatha,, ill flirt with u bestie,,
fun fact, when the gloink queen was saying the names, if u put the captions to german it says “uzi v and cyn”
Fun Fact: 57 is just an ongoing joke with gooseworx and her friends!
When Jacks got "brainwashed" honestly all I thought of is"ha! Loser!"
I think just before getting hit by the truck, Gangle quit her job.
TL,DR; Gangle is Bipolar and I yap way too much about how bleak this episode is (it's my favorite. It's the uncanny vibes I've been waiting for-)
Gangle is Bipolar!!
15:54 awww their so cute 😂(and deadly…)
12:22 THAT’S WHAT I’VE BEEN SAYING!!!!!
29:54 Did anyone else watching the episode for the first time get a feeling Gangle was about to break out into song or something. I mean it wouldn't fit the show or her character but idk, something about the setting and vibes of the scene made me think that at first.
I love this episode
6:58 Jax doing his best "Monokuma fries Teruteru" impression there.
Time to watch WeebyNews reaction to Amazing Digital Circus. With live from Russia❤
A yes my favorite overthinker
3:00 I like cooking companions too! But I’m pretty sure there was only one customer lolol ✌️
31:48
That Ragetha picture is a mood.
7:58 57 is Goosework’s favorite number
1:08 JAX DONT DO IT!!!
2:59 blink blink. You must be thinking of a different game. Cooking Companions is about cannibalism. (You literally cook your companions) You are probably thinking Overcooked or one of those games.
24:07 Those are fighting words Gangle! One of my all time least favorite sentences! (Obviously I have worked in fast food)
31:00 "Well that was an accident." Was it though? Or was it intentional? *shrug*
This is my favorite episode so far and I LOVED the previous one!! I can't wait for the Jax centered episode.
I love this I really do but more epic please
14:35 Watch Gumigoo when Pomni says his name
i have a feeling the ending is goanna be Cain attacks them, and they all fight but it's just an adventure and he lets them leave but they decide they wanna stay in the circus
Ragatha really got lost in the sauce 😂
I think gangle was about to abstract in that walking scene before pomni came in🤔
