C: How are you doing?
L: Everything's fine.
C: You are going to participate in Melodifestivalen this year as well, right?
L: Yes.
C: Last year you participated with.....My Heart Is Refusing Me?
L: Yes. There you go.
C: What has happened since then?
L: I've had a lot of concerts. I've been working like crazy. I felt that I needed a little bit more experience when it comes to performing on stage. I wanted to develop myself.
C: Havn't you been up on stage before, like many times?
L: No. Well, yes. I've been on stage before. But like two or three years ago. So I wanted to to get more experienced and that's why I did all of those concerts.
C: Okay, Loreen. I have to ask: What's more fun? Being on stage or working in the studio?
L: It's two completely different feelings. When you're in the studio it's almost like you're painting, like you're making a picture. And when you're on stage it's like you're presenting what you've created. I'm also very creative on stage.
L: Because, in the studio, you're creating. On stage, you're presenting what you've created.
C: Okay. I see. So, Loreen, tell me about this song you're going to sing.
L: Euphoria.
C: Yes. Exactly.
L: The thing about me is that I like melancholy. I like to sing painful songs that includes a lot of pain and melancholy. And "Euphoria" is actually a bit lighter and it's a happier song.
C: And "My Heart Is Refusing Me"?
L: That song is all about melancholy. It's a lot of pain in that song.
L: But my expectations are that I'll get through with the song without any worries or problems while I'm on stage, performing. And, that my fans will be satisfied.
C: Of course. But, wait, what happened the other day when you were practicing your performance? Something happened, right?
L: Yes. I suddenly realized, wow, this is cool. I'm actually doing a great job. Because I'm an extreme perfectionist. I am. I'm practicing, and practicing, and practicing, and everything has to be perfect.
L: Everything has to be perfect, even the smallest details. I don't think anyone can actually see those details, but I do, and according to me, it has to be perfect. Because, you know, people pay money to come see me and I want to deliver. I can't fail. I can't disappoint them. I'm not allowed to do that. It has to be perfect.
C: Wow. You really have high demands and expectations on yourself, haven't you?
L: Really high demands. And that's built on respect.
C: Respect for the viewers?
L: Yes.
L: It's about how I'm having such a hard time getting out of a relationship which is killing me. You know, my heart is refusing me. While "Euphoria" is the bright and happy side of a relationship.
C: Aaaah. Okay. Then what are your expectations on Melodifestivalen? What do you think will happen? Your expectations?
L: That I'll be able to perform my song on stage without breaking an ankle or something like that.
C: Is it really that bad? That's what you think?
L: Haha, no. I'm just kidding.
L: And respect for everyone who's involved. My team. Friends. Family. Viewers.
C: I understand. And when you we're playing the trumpet, very professional, huh? You've been working hard on that, havn't you? Really been practicing?
L: Hahahaha yes of course!
