    Plant the rootstocks out now and T-bud them in July or chip bud them in September. See appropriate video clips here.
    You can buy Victoria plums anywhere. Why not try some more interesting plum varieties? There is also a video about growing and collecting graft wood. Ian

    I am waiting for St Julien rootstock from a friend, as a member of the Clyde Valley Orchard group so that I can graft some Victoria plum. I am getting 20 in total. So far I haven't harvested any graft wood and need to get some grafting tape, so wondered whether it would be safe to put the rootstock in the soil to do the grafting at a more appropriate time perhaps?
    I wondered whether you could recommend what to do?

    Have you tried filming with your phone on it's side, It worked for me but I only worked that out after my first two videos.
