The Queen!! That performance is just so iconic. How is she even real ?
I keep coming back to this performance- my favorite from 2014. Nowadays all the routines seem rushed, there is no Kudryavtseva or Mamun or Kanaeva quality anymore, just difficulty.
I agree. They were true artists. The routines now seem just a sequence of exercises, with a lot of tension and little expressiveness. Like a robots.

I think Arina still shows something of these gymnasts, although shadowed by Dina, who is more effective.
@@betiona1507 I saw more of Arina's artistry in her younger years, even a some of it during 2017-2018. But I guess Arina's coaches decided that expression wasn't the number one focus so Arina lost some of her expressiveness as she kept competing. It's really sad. I find myself constantly thinking, "I would love to see a Yana/Rita routine with that music," but now I can't. We lost two great artists at the end of 2016.
Dina was also more artistic, even in 2017 when she won her first world championship. But I suppose it is difficult to do artistic when you have such a high level of difficulty with the device. I loved Yana, my favorite gymnast.
What a sensational performance. The leo, the music, her artistry is all out of this world.

Богиня! Сегодня 23 ноября 2022 года. Смотрю уже почти 10 лет.. Даже слезы от восторга уже не бегут, как раньше, а плывут по щеке затаив дыхание, слушая и видя исполнение Яны.
Чудо просто чудо эта девушка,прямая рука с мячом,как будто слилась с этим предметом,мяч это продолжение,не просто красиво ,а чудесно, талант от Бога
Она единственная, кто не торопит. Все акценты, все паузы, все интонации на месте. И получается уникальный язык тела.
Богиня бог ня согласны согласны это неоспоримо нет

yes... soooo far away from the passion that Kanaeva was giving to the audience, but, so far, the best. (excepted Kanaeva obviously)
Agree, Kanaeva was in maximun level but Yana is really amazing!
I really respect Kanaeva but I don't get why everyone is so obsessed. I mean her routines were great, with difficulties etc but I never felt something while watching her. Her routines, as almost every gymnast's, had a basic motif "difficulty,stop,some choreo, difficulty,stop,some choreo..." but Yana...Yana is something different, something exceptional. I don't know why people call her Ice Queen. I almost cried with this routine and I also cried with her ribbon routine in Olympics. You don't have to be laughing or smiling extremely brigtly to show emotion. Her performances always remind me of a ballet performance, such precision and flow.
maria alexopoulou well Yana was either an expressive gymnast, and her work and Kanaeva's could be compared properly because they work under different codes, a different way to be honest, but I could say that I don't see Kudryavtseva having the body difficulty Kanaeva had. Yana's leaps are weak and her pivots repertoire is very limited, although she usually has a great execution of what she does
Eliu Misael Pascual Tapia I will totally agree with you about her leaps, but I have to disagree about her expression. Maybe because for me expression is not just smiling in every routine but it's just the emotion that the gymnast can pass through the audience through her movement. F.e I was never touched by mamun's or kanaeva's performances. Yana has proven over the years that she prefers apparatus difficulty and artistry in her routines rather than body difficulty(not that it doesn't exist) even though you can notice from videos of her training what she's capable of and that her flexibility is insane. Yana's apparatus difficulty and originality is also out of this planet, I personally believe that nobody can touch her apparatus handling. She has invented many moves that many legendary gymnasts would not be able to perform. Her flow is so elegant, she makes everything she does seem to be so calm and easy.
Just my opinion though because I love her style:)

It's quite rare to find routines that show alot of artistry nowadays... Gymnasts just pull masteries over masteries the costs being artistry...its what has to be done to be on the podium

Yana is clean but there is no way she exceeds or will exceed Kanaeva in difficulty and execution. when Kanaeva was in Yana's age she was doing all the most difficult pirouettes and spins. Yana does have great technique but not sure she exceeds Kanaeva.
+fashionfgurl18 Of course she can't exceed Kanaeva in difficulty. The new Code of Points demands more dance passes and transitions which leaves little time for more difficult elements.

Try to appreciate gymnasts for what they really are instead of always comparing them to other gymnasts ...

Que desastre los realizadores de esta emisión! a ver si se enteran que en rítmica, es imprescindible ver pies, ver los lanzamientos enteros... etc

bueno ella hiso un ejercicio precioso y elegante. pero le falta mas dificultad en mi opinion, lo unico dificultad que vi ella con la pelota recojida de alto nivel y pelota en un dedo , y ella hay que tener mas expresion de los movimientos que hacer. y el puntuaje de 18.650 se me hacer muchos para ella y mamun tiene mas expresion ella merecer mas en este aparato de pelota.
No se si sabes del codigo o no.. Pero Ella tiene una rutina de mucha dificultad.. Solo la combination del chenee con la illusion tiene una alta puntuacion.. Ademas de todos los rodamientos con la pelota atravez de diferentes partes del cuerpo , tienen una alta puntuacion.. Sin nombrar la perfecta ejecucion ... En fin.. Esta perfectamente evaluada... Es mas .. Su puntuacion es un poco baja para el Nivel de ejercicio que hizo !

Yana isnt the most expressive but she is still young
I tend to think Yana has an Ice queen type peronality, not necessarily bad :)
that's full of emotion, sublime, balletic quality and perfectly match with the music.
you don't have to make fierce face or smiley happy face to be expressive. look at her choreo at 0:23, 0:27, 0:51, 0:55, free hand at attitute pivot 1:06, 1:14 that's called body expressive.
I don't see it in her body either. She just does the movements, there's no substance to them. Look at Halkina, Charkashyna, Maximenko - every movement they make has something to it. They're not just doing the choreography. I don't dislike, and obviously her D and E are very high so she deserved the win, I just don't find her pretty to watch.
of course it is if you aren't into ballet choreo, you won't get into it. it's subtle and gentle and it's very flow choreo not the same to those three that their expression are "look I'm going to show you my choreo" "look, I'm going to smile" But their body expression ' are/weren't at the same level as Kudryavtseva. I supposed you like "obvious" expression, fierce expression.
I think you don't understand body expression because those 3 are not the good example of "body" expression because all they did are just choreo and face expression. The good example of body expression are Rita Mamun, Sylvia Miteva, Simona Peycheva and Daria Dmitrieva.
Hm, incidentally I am 'into ballet choreo'. Go take a look at Obrasztsova or Harrison or Vishneva. Ballet dancers. Classical Ballet choreography. Yet they can still manage some feeling in their performances. Yana's a good gymnast, but she's not very expressive. End of story.

I dont like her, hahah i still thinking she's not expresing anything, , but i have to admit that actually she has improved sooo much technically ( yes even more) all pivots and balances have better endings and jumps are higher (still lacking a bit of amplitude, but better than last year) if she learns how to put emption on each perrformance, she will be the best gymnast ever!...i sitl dont like her xD Rita Davaii!!!
