i found a couple new in crates 07 cr 125s for 7k and 1 new in crate 07 cr 250r for 7.5k for sale on the web wish i could find me a crated cr for 2500 bucks
Then a few changes up to 2006, basically just breaks and few extra teeth here and there, but never losing that sound.... Form 06 until 15 the CR just got lighter and more compact.. Still got that sound and basically everything else it had in 2006...puts the meaning to the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"
I love my 450 but last time I got on a 250 two stroke I did not want to get off it was so light and hit like a ton of bricks. If you can keep them singing they are a riot I need to build another.
What continually gets me is how the MX world talks about 2strokes as if it’s some old Technology, it’s still the best technology, it is only sidelined by rules and certain manafacturers who had an agenda, in off road 2strokes rule or dominate both in local level and pro level, try to find a 4t in hard Enduro, when did they last win an event in Hard Enduro, 2 of the 3 main categories in Enduro GP were won on 2t, the GP premier class and Junior class both by Beta, only the GP2class was won by a fourstroke and that’s because the manafactures push it, the technology and development on that side is still leading, in MX KTM still developing at a much slower rate MX side because they have no real competition, Yamaha are they’re but still over priced new for what is basically a updated BNg bike every year, I commend Yamaha for still producing the 125/250 bikes but still, over priced by atleast $1500.. but more like 2k, KTM are sitting on the technology and we’ll continue to see them, Beta, Sherco and possibly GasGas develop and deliver 2 Strokes that easily compete with over complicated and over priced and over weight 4t bikes that are destroying MX at all levels. I’m not anti 4t persee I have ridden many new gen and they are great, but imo still not the best bikes for MX, the classes are weird it’s hurting the sport, too riders are getting hurt like never before and retiring younger than ever, it’s hurt the US as a strong MX nation and the once dominant nation. Thankfully the European manafactuers are investing in the sport by providing 2t from 50cc right up to 250cc and 300s, but I laugh everytime I hear riders or online mags talk about 2ts so tunneled in they’re lack of knowledge about what is happening in the Dirtbike world other than the US and other than MX or SX in the US, look around. Wake up, if a wee company like Beta can develop in four short years world class leading 2ts and 4ts and be competitive with a powerhouse like KTM in manufacturing and racing and importantly results in sales and in racing then wtf are the Japanese doing!
MaverickDH well if it's was fair it would be EQUAL DISPLACEMENT. if 4t is so good . Why don't we race them evenly in the pros? Because crooked politics and emission snowflakes ruined the fun IMO
You have absolutely nailed it! The only thing I would add is the jump in costs associated with running a 4T over a two stroke, it ISNT good for the sport. Nobody really wants to hear the truth when it comes to 2T vs 4T.... the emperor has a fine set of clothes.
what tripple clamps did you use for this build i want to put a 2016 fender on my 08 crf450 what tripple clamps can i use that will mount to the new style fender what size mm forks are on that bike
I sometimes mix 1:1 or 1 gal to 2 gal premium. It helps with detonation and is more consistent, you can store it a little longer too. I like leaded but sometimes I like to try other fuels depending where I go. If you ride so cal tracks there is a vp pump at the arco before comp edge and sun valley mx park I think it is called. I run the fuel regardless if people say I don't need it lol
I'm a little late. But I hope you kept it stock because that's what keeps the value. Putting "updated" shit on it kills resale value and makes the bike non original anymore. I get that people like to build bikes to make them look modern but if you have a rare conditioned cr250 dont bling it out. I just hope you kept it stock if you were looking to get good money for it.
"... or the smell" Haha Ping! I had one of these new back then, great suspension and handling, terrible engine. Garbage. Honda messed it up to get everyone onto 450s.
Yamaha came out with he 4 stroke Japanese bike first. Doug Henry raced it and it was a tank. Way before that Husaberg made a 500cc 4 stroke but got nowhere with it.
That bike is shit of course they got it right for now, they have a problem cranking the jug and burning coolent runs like shit when that happens and can't really fix it right most guys just jb weld it after they figure out I'm going threw jugs lol, yz250 I did mine top end last 6 years so far and that's racing not trail riding, yz125 though I got to calm down before I hop on yz250 I might flat land everything cause I don't let off much
Would love to see these videos show you all working on the bikes, adding the parts, not just talking about it after the fact.
2500 for a brand new one, holy SHIT that was a master find.

What a build, I swear I will never sell my 07 RM250 ! 2T BABY
Every bike I've had has been a 4 stroke. The first bike I will get after I graduate in December will be a 2 stroke. Can't beat that gorgeous sound
nothing better than the sound of a pinned 250 2-stroke echoing around the hills....
That thing is SICK! I'm still rockin an '88, think I need one of these.
Best 250 2 stroke sound.... The 1998 until 03 never really changed.
Then a few changes up to 2006, basically just breaks and few extra teeth here and there, but never losing that sound.... Form 06 until 15 the CR just got lighter and more compact.. Still got that sound and basically everything else it had in 2006...puts the meaning to the saying "if it ain't broke don't fix it"
Terry Murray they stopped making it in 07
2002- 2007 completely different
Best looking Honda for 2018
God I miss the 2 strokes. I bought a brand new 2001 YZ125 and loved it. I broke my back shortly after at Washougal, but was good times until then ;)

I rode a bone stock yz80 and was keeping up with supermini's, then I got too big for it and jumped to a CR125. Seems familiar...
Ive still got my 2003 CR250 in the garage, Fully loaded and i just cant bring myself to sell it as its hardly been used..
You should include close-ups of the mod parts. Gees..these companies help you out right?
New front fender and plate are cool. What year is the fender?
what tripple clamps did you use for this build i want to put a 2016 fender on my 08 crf450 what tripple clamps can i use that will mount to the new style fender what size mm forks are on that bike
Meu sonho uma Cr 250 muito top leve demais essa moto torque mostro
That suspension is dialed in! Looks plush
soooo.....what exactly did you build in the garage?..
Sexy bike for sure, #bringbackthe2stroke
No doubt my next bike will be a 2 stroke
Heyy Bro are they modern 4 stroke mx bikes boring? Boring power hit? I've never ridden one.
.308or5.56? both 2 and 4 strokes are fun. it's all about opinion for which ones better.
Heyy Bro its so fun man it'll put a big smile on your face
.308or5.56? No not at all the fuel injected ones hit instant
If anyone on here thinks a 2002 2007 cr250 is slow you haven't ridden one. I have an 2002 that pulls like a rocket .
I'm one of the few kids who ride 2smokes
Aaron Flowers no youre not
Can you do a yamaha 426cc project bike ?
How did you figure out the jetting
What track is this?
wheres the build pics?
What is the result with the VP + 91 pump gas? Does it create something like a more stable and consistent 93 octane?
I sometimes mix 1:1 or 1 gal to 2 gal premium. It helps with detonation and is more consistent, you can store it a little longer too. I like leaded but sometimes I like to try other fuels depending where I go. If you ride so cal tracks there is a vp pump at the arco before comp edge and sun valley mx park I think it is called. chem6269 sunrise mx is the other track
$2500 for a brand new 2003 cr250? I see them for $3000 on craigslist all clapped..

I have a mint 06 cr250r with only 30 hours on it, thinking about selling it, What could it be worth? I dont ride anymore.

I ride a 1997 cr250
What the actual fuck, you must have the luck of a LEPRICORN to find that for $2500
4 strokes haven't done anything to help our sport, they're the decline of motocross.
That bike has nice motor work, the stock 03 has torque but was slow .
That bike is shit of course they got it right for now, they have a problem cranking the jug and burning coolent runs like shit when that happens and can't really fix it right most guys just jb weld it after they figure out I'm going threw jugs lol, yz250 I did mine top end last 6 years so far and that's racing not trail riding, yz125 though I got to calm down before I hop on yz250 I might flat land everything cause I don't let off much
Why the fuck are 15 year old cr250s priced so high?
To much talking not enough riding
