Goku Black is the Original Zamasu from the unaltered present timeline where he switch bodies with Goku and kills him this happens before Trunks went back in time creating the timeline where The Zamasu you seen get killed by Beerus to prevent him from becoming Goku Black.

That's incorrect. Before the introduction of DBS there were 5 timelines we knew about but only 3 of them were shown.
- Timeline 3 also called History 3 ( Cell's timeline ) is seemingly the original timeline but this debatable because it got a visit from a Trunks from an unknown timeline ( Timeline 5 ). The Trunks from timeline 3 eventually travels to the past to get the blueprints for the androids and in doing so creates another timeline ( Timeline 4 ) when he returns he deactivates the androids but he isn't strong enough to defeat Cell and gets killed. Cell then uses his time machine to travel to the past and in doing so creates another timeline ( Timeline 2 )
- Timeline 5 is unknown but seemingly a Trunks from this timeline visited Cell's timeline to defeat Frieza and King Cold and warn everyone about the Androids. This timeline is never seen. It is speculated that this timeline has a similar progression as the main timeline.
- Timeline 4 is also never seen but was created because the Trunks from Timeline 3 gained the blueprints for the androids in this timeline.
- Timeline 2 ( Future Trunks's timeline ) This is the timeline we currently see in this arc but the creation of this timeline is somewhat a mystery. There is no mention of a Future Trunks visiting this timeline and Frieza and King Cold are killed by Goku instead. There also isn't a version of Cell that came from a different timeline only the one that was grown in Gero's lab and he gets killed by Trunks himself.
- Timeline 1 also called the main timeline is the one in which DB, DBZ, Daima and DBS take place in. This timeline was seemingly created by Future Cell from timeline 1 and while that is true the course of events are also heavily influenced by Future Trunks from timeline 2.
*EDIT* I will say that Cell's knowledge of the history of his own timeline might be incorrectly told in both the manga and anime. People speculate that Toriyama got confused while writing his time travel plot.

@@Cratossama Actually Cell's timeline being the original timeline is somewhat debatable because a version of Future Trunks does visit his timeline to kill Frieza and King Cold. This means his timeline was influenced/altered. Personally I think timeline 5 is the original timeline because the only thing we know about it is that a version of Future Trunks visited Cell's timeline. But beyond that nothing is known about it.
A timeline cannot be seen as original if the course of events have been altered somehow. The there are only two timelines which this logic could apply to and that's Timeline 5 or timeline 2 ( until the introduction of Goku Black )

Super Saiyan Rage isn't technically a new form, it's still just regular Super Saiyan 2 but my headcanon is that the blue aura around Trunks is god ki he gained from fighting with Goku and Vegita so much.

The 1st the original: Trunks Time Machine was high jacked after defeating the androids
The 2nd the unseen: the androids Trunks defeated before his Time Machine got high jacked
The 3rd the history of Trunks timeline: the trunks we know today
The 4th current timeline: the timeline the series revolves around
The 5th DBS Zamasu stole current present day’s Goku’s body a year in the future
The first original timeline happened the same way as Thr history of trunks timeline difference is his timeline got jacked by cell

1st Timeline : Trunks Timeline where androids kill everyone
2nd Timeline: Where Trunks travels to the past to save Goku (the present time where we watch) this is where Zamasu gets destroyed by Beerus
3rd Timeline: Where Trunks returns to the future and gets killed by Cell (Cells timeline where androids got killed by Trunks)
4th Timeline: A future timeline that is not scene in the anime but its similar as the 2nd Timeline and the future of the 5th Timeline (This is needed for Black to appear so Trunks can go back to the 5th timeline to warn Goku so he can start investigating)
5th Timeline: The slight future where it branches off from the 2nd timeline, where Goku investigates who black is and fights Zamasu, this is where Zamasu succeeds and steals Gokus body
1st Timeline (had to put this here so its less confusing): Black travels here kills Gowasu and tells the Zamasu from this timeline his plan and makes this one immortal, messes with Trunks here
6th Timeline: Zamasu from the 5th timeline travels back to the point where Goku was farming crops and switches bodies with him
A new ring is created whenever another person modifies the past. Beerus was technically correct, in saying that Black should have been erased when he Hakai'd Zamasu of the present, but because of the time ring he didn't die, the Immortal Zamasu was not affected because he was Future Zamasu from Future Trunks time and he was not from that strand of timeline, the Beerus in that time was killed because all the Supreme Kai's were killed.
This is why Vegeta and Future trunks are the best characters of this show❤❤❤

One small change in history can change a lot with the time ring, which is why Whis said that its a crime. Even he can only rewind time 3 minutes to 'do it again.' Because Trunks came back in time to about 20 years in the past, that created a new evil Zamasu destruction reality and this is the Zamasu who switched bodies with Goku and becomes Black; he already killed Gowasu, takes the time ring, gathered the Super Dragon Balls, makes the switch with Goku, and moves to another time to kill Goten and Chi Chi. He must have left in a hurry, because he would have to deal with SS Blue Vegeta and would have lost. He moved to Trunk's timeline at this point, killed Bulma, and lost track of Trunks because he escaped to the past to get help from Goku and Vegeta agin. Once evil Zamasu used the time ring to go back to the past (an illegal move), he finds Trunks and fights Super Saiyan 2 Goku, this created a time loop as he explained in this video. After Beerus destroys the good Zamasu (because they learned that he really is a bad guy in the future), this allowed the evil Zamasu, or Black to break free of the time loop, so Black recruited Zamasu and repeated the loop of destruction again, except now they wished for an immortal body for future Zamasu.
Yeah I think the easiest explanation is technically Beerus & Whis allowed an event to happen & then rewind time & usually there isn’t a ripple because it’s the “action of a God”, but because they had a time ring, that 3rd reality (Beerus doesn’t kill Zamasu) maintained & birthed Goku Black

There’s actually a fan theory that that the Dragon Ball movies and even GT, Daima and etc all are in different timelines where certain events played out much differently.

There are 4 time lines if you look in the box there are 4 additional time rings meaning the time line split that many times.
The simplest explanation:
Goku Black is what the present Zamasu would have become if Beerus had not killed him.
Future Zamasu is from Future Trunk's timeline who does not know Goku since he is dead.
Goku Black through the use of the time ring jumped to Future Trunk's timeline to punish him since he was responsible for creation of a new timeline through saving Goku from the heart virus(The green time ring)

Goku black did say after the first fight with Goku that he cant go back... so many ppl think is just of the time machine ( time machine made posible for him to go back for some time) but he cant use the time ring to go back to the timeline where he killed Gowasu (and killed by Beerus after).In that episode it was the hint that he was killed in the past and he was from another timeline created after he was killed because he was protected by the time ring and that how a new timeline with Goku black was created.
Future trunks only can achieve and maintain this rage form. Present trunks life is just like a silver spoon. He has it all one wants.
Future trunks grew up without a dad, saw his best friend and mentor die, saw his mom die too.
He is the only saiyan who achieved all forms of Super Saiyan with just sheer RAGE.
Achieved Ssj when gohan died. Achieved ultra ssj when cell beat vegeta and now Achieved this new rage form when he was made feel that he was at fault for all the wrong doings happening in his timeline.
There are only 2 timeslines in reference to this episode. When Lord Bieris killed Zamosu. Wies went back 3 minutes in the same timeline of future Trunks. Which is dynamic time travel. So the event of Zamosu killing the Supreme already happened. So, the alternate Goku Black could be created. And by having the time ring. When Wies goes back 3 minutes it doesn't matter the time line was already created. Goku Black is already created and protected. Once a timeline is created, every future event IN That Tme is created almost instantly. That's how Goku Black was created and protected with the time rings
The green Zamasu is from Trunk's timeline where Goku and Vegeta are dead.
This Zamasu never fought Goku and hence was never inspired to go against his master until Goku Black visited him from the other timeline.

They are the same but from different time lines,,,, the one who has goku’s body is from goku’s time line, he killed the supreme Kai then took the ring and switched Goku’s body with his by using the dragonballs. He then teamed up with himself in trunk’s future.

Let me explain. In the main timeline of our heroes Zamasu is killed by beerus. However in another timeline the events between goku and zamasu still happened. After his battle with goku, he goes to earth and kills goku a family. Then kills goku if I’m not mistaken. Then he kills Gowasu and takes the time ring and gets the dragon balls and wishes for immortality. Then travels to the future wishes again for goku black. In the main timeline gowasu is still alive. What zamasu is saying is the time ring transcends time and space so in different timelines his death is not affected. Hence why berry’s killing him didn’t accomplish anything. He had the same mindset of vengeance in each timeline.
The third time line would fall under cell who came from the future. The one that killed trunks and stole the Time Machine. That’s how I always saw it.

1st timeline: Zamasu was when he became supreme Kai n become Goku Black.
2nd timeline: Zamasu is Trunks timeline n becomes immortal n destroys the super dragon.
3rd timeline: Whis do over erupt the timeline after Beerus destroys Zamasu think of Back to the Future scenario.
Goku black is where Zamasu doesn’t get erased and he gets the time ring and goes to Future trunk’s timeline because he knows his counterpart is there and that one didn’t have the motivation to kill his master because Goku died of the heart virus so the only reason why Goku black exists is because Goku wanted to fight him

Killing the supreme kais also kill the gods of destruction so imagine poor future champa sleeping or eating sad that his brother died in the buu saga when the supreme Kai got killed against Bibidi and getting a heart attack and then him getting killed and then when the gods die the angels cant do anything like reverse time to save them
Simple terminology.
1. (Main) timeline: Where Zamasu existed and he kills Gorawsu and steals the time ring and the potara ear rings to make the wish on the Super Dragon Balls to switch with Goku's body and kill off his original body with Goku's spirit/soul/essence inside, kills Goten and Chi-chi.
2. Dragon Ball, DBZ and Dragon Ball Super all feature multiple timelines.
3. Trunks timeline (future): Is the original timeline where things went wrong, all the Z fighters died due to the androids. Zamasu is from his timeline.
4. Alternate timeline (Cell): Future Trunks goes back to his timeline to kill off the androids and the Imperfect Cell that was supposed to steal his time machine to go and find the androids in Goku's timeline.
5. Current timeline: Where Goku is already saved from the heart virus, due to future Trunk's medicine from the Cell Saga. Where Beerus already killed that Zamasu.
So, because of the time ring from the Zamasu who's in Goku's body from the (1) main timeline. He can't be erased at all. He made sure of it. Which is why there are alternate Zamasus' that exist.

1 our future trunks, trunks avoids Majin Buu/ zamasu alive with invincibility
2 our timeline/beerus destroyed our zamasu (future trunks comes to this specific one)
3 1st form cell killed Future trunks (call this 2nd future trunks) to use time machine
4 2nd future trunks being weaker than 1st form cell, mean he did not achieve super saiyan 2, meaning traveling back to past they probably used fhe remotes to kill 18 and 17 in past
6 Zamasu kills Gowasu( beerus didn't destroy him) and becomes goku black and meets future trunks zamasu (timeline 2)

*(Timeline explanation)*
There's a lot to unpack from this and probably in the next video as well because people still haven't figured out the timeline in regards to.... Which is fine because it took a long time to figure out the cell saga time shenanigans.
*But here is the timeline we know so far....*
Regarding who Goku black is, I want you to remember all the events going forward throughout Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball super from the U6 arc.
Next we factor in Zamasu into this.... We're going to call this Present-Zamasu (A)
This Zamasu eventually becomes aware of Goku and the Super Dragonballs, in what way? We don't know, probably GodTube (it happened in the manga so it's not a far-fetched here)
Contacts Zuno, learns about the Super Dragon balls, gathers them and wishes to switch bodies with Goku.
The Present-zamasu (A) is *Goku Black* That is the shocking sad part of the whole entire.... Goku black's (Goku-body) that he stole, is the same body from the Goku we've been following all the way back from the beginning.
Present-Zamasu (A) Goku Black then kills Goku in Zamasu's body. What he does to the Earth after that is unknown. However with Goku black, he realizes to himself he doesn't want to do his conquest alone so he recruits the only person he can trust.
We later know Goku Black goes to the Future in Future Trunk's timeline to recruit himself (such narcissism)
Now I lnow what you people may think, why did it take so long for future Zamasu to kill Future Gowasu? After all it takes place in the future. Well it's pretty obvious in the present timeline Goku had some influence with the Present Zamasu (B) to steal Goku's body.... That's how things started jump started events quicker. But since Future Trunk's timeline didn't have a Goku (Because in the future timeline Goku is dead) This would change a lot of things with future Zamasu, From the way he tried to kill future gowasu, and even his motivations behind his wish when Goku black introduced him to the Super Dragonballs, FYI he would wish for "immortality" (the word immortality stated in the Japanese dub) So there is differences between these two Zamasus. The only thing that these 2 Zamasus together personality-wise have in common is the fact that they hate mortals.
This also will explain why they're attacking Future Trunk's timeline.... For you see unlike Present-Zamasu (A) who was fixated on Goku FYI stealing his body. Future Zamasu on the other hand was fixated on Future Trunks considering he was spying on the events of the Android saga when Future Trunks time traveled across time to give the heart virus cure to Goku.
And since time travel is a massive Divine violation, they decide to commit all out war against Future Trunks and everything he's ever loved. Which is sad if you think about it.... Trunks put the word "Hope" on his machine time machine because his mother told him everything about Goku, and Goku black (in Goku's body) is using that to symbolically destroy all "hope" and not just to Future Trunks to emotionally beat him.... But all "hope" in everything.
But anyways.... Goku black and future zamasu want to implement *"Project Zero Mortals"*
But they knew that unless they get the gods out of the way, they're not going to be able to do anything. So they killed all the Supreme Kai's, thus killing all the Gods of destruction, thus leaving all the Angel attendant relieved of duty. They also said they attacked other planets so possibly New Namek as well? (Maybe) if that's the case no more Namek-Dragonballs in the future timeline.
So anyways they both make it to Future Trunk's Earth and Goku Black reigns complete havock. He battles with trunks for a full year. Eventually trunks uses the time machine and to the present a full week before Zamasu becomes aware of Goku. *THUS CREATING A NEW TIMELINE.*
This timeline RIGHT HERE is the one we are currently following for now on despite it being a brand new timeline created by Future Trunks.
But as we know..... A new timeline creates new differences. (Which whis warns about)
As you know Goku black did for dip from the future to this new present timeline and battle regular Goku. The fight ends abruptly.... And that's where Whis Beerus and Goku go to investigate and here we meet Present-Zamasu (B) and as you know later on he was Hakai'd by Beerus.
And here we are now with the main characters dealing with the chaos in Future Trunks timeline.
So just a small recap....
-Present Zamasu (A) is Goku Black
-Future zamasu is the one tagging along with Goku Black
-Present Zamasu (B) was Hakai'd by Beerus.
There are still many bits of this time line that haven't been solved yet because there was also an infinite predestination time-loop in the middle of this.... I can't begin to tell you where that fits in.
But that is what everyone knows so far as of now.
What a comment! Salute! Only one small writing error made this whole thing not make any sense. Zamasu’s reason for stealing Goku’s body. It was because he fought Goku but the only reason Goku fought him was because Black showed up! It’s a literal “which came first, the chicken or the egg” scenario. Essentially black created himself. All they had to do was give Zamasu a different reason for stealing Goku’s body.
Goku black is present Zamasu but unaffected by beerus because he’s a year in the future where he stole Goku’s body then went into Trunks time

Ok now that we’re on this episode I can finally say this. Based on the information the show has provided, Goku Black shouldn’t even exist! Think about it. Why did Zamasu steal Goku’s body? Because he lost a fight to Goku. Why did Goku fight Zamasu? Because Goku Black showed up! So essentially Black created Black. This is bad writing and made the whole saga not make sense. Zamasu could’ve stole goku’s body for any reason at all except the one he stated and it would’ve made perfect sense.
@skywalka02 Lmao you not understanding a simple concept of paradox doesn’t make it bad writing. It’s a very common situation in time travel stories where the origin of a thing doesn’t really exist because there’s an endless loop. That loop part of the story was *well written.*
However, there is bad writing in the story in regards of the loop. Because it’s a loop, the events should be the same every time. But the story is written in a way that there couldn’t be a loop. Every action that happened in the story so far, seem to naturally lead into Beerus killing Zamasu. Mysterious figure appears, they recognise the energy and meet Zamasu, their suspicion is confirmed when they encounter Zamasu in the future, which leads them to stopping Zamasu from killing Gowasu and Beerus destroying him. This means that Black should never exist.
Black’s existence means that in his timeline, everything went the same up until Goku beat Zamasu on the Kai planet, but then… they just stopped figuring this whole Black situation out..? They left Trunks deal with this alone? Goku was farming again as if life moved on and then suddenly Zamasu stole his body. How could events ever go that way, if Trunks returned to get help, Black appeared to fight Goku, they investigate and Goku beat Zamasu? It’s like they never went into the future a second time and Trunks just went home or something.
If they wanted the endless loop to break by Beerus destroying Zamasu, they needed to write some sort of catalyst that made the events go differently this time. I remember waiting to hear what caused Beerus to *not* take action in Black’s timeline. But there wasn’t anything like that in the story, and Beerus killing Zamasu was the natural string of events. That part was simply badly written, and they clearly didn’t think it through at all.
I think the loop is not the problem for the bad writing as you say. It worked very well as the reason why Zamasu chose him specifically as he experienced his power first hand. We do see the alternative you are suggesting, ”any other reason”, in the manga where Zamasu basically only sees the fight between Goku and Hit from GodTube and decides to steal his body from that alone. But that’s very very weak reasoning, and he could have chosen Hit or anyone else for that matter for that purpose. Little research would have led him to Jiren even. So no, the loop itself wasn’t the problem. The bad writing was how the loop broke just because, and time loops cannot break just because; there needs to be a strong reason/factor as to why something happens differently this time to break it.
