    The tip about keeping the strut on, great option, thanks.

    Like your style. I came to learn how to do this, but if you are open for business, I'd rather drop it off at your garage! I would trust you to do it right! Mo bettah than me, definitely.

    Great video, I didn’t know that the strut bolts will effect the alignment. Are they elongated, or one a smaller diameter than another, or does one have a cam? I must say, I’m jealous you’re not battling rust like I will be. That’s a Midwest perk!

    Impressive. No torque wrench needed. Everything just based on feel. It took a long time to attain this level.

    What about marking the lower strut bolts with paint to avoid realignment?

    • @RoysGarage808
      @RoysGarage808  2 года назад

      Great question! It’s still only good as a temporary fix, especially if you want to be precise it’s best to get that alignment. Thanks for watching 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽

    Could you do the same but without the press, I mean is there an alternative way of squeezing in/out the bearing?

    • @RoysGarage808
      @RoysGarage808  2 года назад

      Yes. You can also use otc hub tamer without removing the spindle.

    • @tomctutor
      @tomctutor 2 года назад

      @@RoysGarage808 Hub Tamers not that cheap but probably a wise buy as, more than likely, gonna need it again. With condition of roads here in UK, bearings always get a bashing.
      (PS I see SMA has a few vidz on this method for the Corolla.)
      Will update the outcome of this, until then thankyou for your detailed vid.

      @@tomctutor Another option is to put the bearing in a freezer for few hours, heat the spindle up with a propane torch nice and hot and the bearing will pretty much fall in. Might need a little tap

    You did not have to remove the struts assembly I just remove the knuckle my bearing were not bad I just changed them because I wanted to i have a 2013 elantra

    • @RoysGarage808
      @RoysGarage808  4 года назад +3

      Great point but I decided to remove the struts along with the spindle so my customer didn’t have to take the extra step and go get an alignment. Thanks for watching!

    • @michaelmann6685
      @michaelmann6685 3 года назад +1

      Why would you need an alignment after tho??

    • @RoysGarage808
      @RoysGarage808  3 года назад +2

      @@michaelmann6685 for this job, you wouldn’t need an alignment because we pulled the full struts out with the spindle. If you took only the spindle off you would definitely need to get an alignment but not for this one.

    • @RaymondJacobsF
      @RaymondJacobsF 3 года назад +2

      @@RoysGarage808 while I agree that pulling the whole strut assembly makes absolutely sure you won't need an alignment; the 9th gen corolla front struts don't have adjustment at the knuckle/pinch bolts on the strut

    • @RaymondJacobsF
      @RaymondJacobsF 3 года назад +1

      also anybody trying to pull that stabilizer link up north is going to have a field day; often times the hex hole is rusted and your only real option is to put a vise grip behind it to isolate the ball and then go at it with an impact, but that will ruin it (if it is that rusted it should be replaced anyhow); I don't know how you got it in one shot, movie magic? :D
