Difficult to service seems to be a new car theme. The labour to fix many of these cars later in life may be cost prohibitive and they'll end up as throw-aways. Sad really.
I don’t think so. It’s just a terrible design. Fiat have never been really known for quality, and Chrysler as well. When you mix the two together you have double the problems. I’ve only driven one Jeep product before and it was an 05 Liberty. Not the best, but not absolutely terrible.
@@ryans413 No, this is just a Fiat engine thrown into a Jeep body to meet emission standards, everything else was sacrificed for that. Chrystler is very aware that 99% of Jeep owners never drive on anything more challenging than a gravel road or light snow, and built their "off road" cars accordingly. And it's not like they will take any liability if you take your car off-road and anything breaks.
Same here. Although it is disappointing to see Toyota supporting anti right to repair legislation in NH along with the other car manufacturers. Unfortunately it's all about that 💰.

Haha it's a shitty chrysler that will be a maintenance nightmare. Only thing good about it is the frame and the 4x4 robustness (notice I didn't say longevity).
Very minor issues include: Plastic oil pan on an off road SUV, an engine that is complex and difficult to work on, the blue smoke already on a brand new vehicle, the plastic running board supports, the intake buried under everything, the transmission that requires a scan tool to do a fluid change, etc. Doesnt seem minor to me. Lots of things to break.
I don't think anyone is saying bad stuff about speedkar. It's about the vehicle itself, some time I wonder if FCA understands their own vehicles as much as he does. Maybe the v6 model is much better.

Wranglers are typically bought by long terms owners. I can just imagine the engine & mechanical nightmare of trying to keep this Jeep years after warranty. So many plastic parts top and bottom that will definitely break/crack over time and the silly amount of fragile coolant piping & hoses crisscrossing all over the place just waiting to leak.

About 4 years ago I was at the garage where I take my car for repairs. The owner has been in business for about 25 years. A customer had just driven off in a Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited, and I heard the owner mumble, "What a load of garbage" talking about the Jeep. This incident, combined with knowing that they have had well documented 'issues' with poor frame welds, corrosion, electrical problems, and they seem to be over-reliant on computers (and plastic components) AND Fiat's reputation, or lack thereof, would preclude me from even entertaining looking at a Jeep product, and I am a guy who LOVES old-school body on frame SUV's. Great presentation and down to the point. Removing an AC compressor to reach other components is just lousy engineering. This engine bay was not thoroughly thought out. Like most trucks, dropping a fuel tank to access a fuel pump makes for a very difficult job...After warranty this vehicle could be very expensive to maintain. I probably will opt for the Pentastar 6 cylinder for maintainability and access to parts but repairs could still be labor intensive.
The complexity under the hood is astonishing. What could possibly go wrong?According to Scotty Kilmer some of these Jeeps are in fact FIATs under the skin, with all their reliability issues.
3:30 can someone explain why they would put a plastic oil pan on what they call an off-road vehicle that doesn't include cost savings? They were smart enough not to do the same for the transmission. Is a new oil pan, it's gasket, and oil part of the off roading kit? You would imagine switching to metal would be an aftermarket upgrade right?
Easier for the FWD car to have the drive shafts connected if the engine is transverse. RWD needs the drive shaft run to the back so a longitudinal engine mount will make sense; no 90 degree power transfer needed

The JL is by far the best one, Crysler designed JK is garbage and they are even worse, the TJ and LJ are the last jeeps worth talking about.
No more field serviceability any more... plus so many aftermarket accessories opportunities to just protect the under chassis components...
Yep thats the opposite of the old Jeeps
As much as I beat up on you for getting only 99% of your VW reviews right, it's really nice just to see under a modern car like this. Solid axle in 2020...
Yeah it's good to see something different
What year model? I can't find it in the description.
Probably a new one because they really don't have a 2L Turbo engine in any previous years
2020
@@speedkar99 Nice, where do you get your demo cars from?
Can’t wait to see you do the Ford bronco
I've already filmed the bronco sport. Coming soon
@@speedkar99 not the little bronco sport, the full size one
ain't suppose to be one more coolent reservior right next to the windshield washer fluid?
Ahh yes. I've been waiting for this. 😬
Great review 👏
I love 4.0 even more now.
Great content for the car shopper! Disappointed by all the plastic they are using under the hood.
Do the 3.6 from a Chrysler 200s awd
No way
Warning, Do not open ta Wrangler Hood When there is a sign of over heating, the engine bay may just turn in to a squirting hot spring! LMAO!
Ouch
Very sophisticated engine design complicated to repair and service specially transmission oil cover
Yeah I don't get that
Will you ever do a v6 wrangler
Nah
Would love to see an older chrysler jeep wrangler review.
Nah that's too old school
Good video. Please do the v6 if you can.
Grand Cherokee with the V6 review coming soon
Do a review of your GS
21:31 sums up this entire build of this vehicle
the older TJ jeep with the 4l straight 6 is probably the better one without the bad batch of cyl heads im thinking.
new cars across the board are very compact and complicated compared to older vehicles
Especially this turbo model
Do a review on a 2001 Toyota Camry 4 cylinder
That's too simple.
@@speedkar99 when I got rid of my 2001 Camry 4 cylinder it had 438k on it! I bought it with 345k for close to $500. Put brakes on a fixed an oil leak...thing ran like a charm. It was amazing.
can you please do a review on 3.6 pentastar v6?
Sure. Maybe a minivan haha
@@speedkar99 Chrysler 200s v6 awd
Volvo XC90
pre-2013 with the D5 engine and 6-speed box would be awesome. No good mechanical review videos on RUclips.
Where would I find that 😶
Could they make it more simple than it is? How much stuff in there do they have to have to meet modern safety and emissions?
Just bad design flaw really looks like they just threw everything in the engine bay with no thought in mind
Why would they make the transfer case cover plastic? That could easily get damaged on a trail.
How long until 4runner video. I cant wait
It'll be a week or two
3:30 can someone explain why they would put a plastic oil pan on what they call an off-road vehicle that doesn't include cost savings?
They were smart enough not to do the same for the transmission. Is a new oil pan, it's gasket, and oil part of the off roading kit? You would imagine switching to metal would be an aftermarket upgrade right?
Seriously though. Still boggles my mind to see some of these high-end sports cars using plastic intake manifolds too (cough cough BMW)
That could easily be a steel pan, it even looks like one. Pure cost cutting brought to you by Fiat.
Could you explain why a longitudinal engine = RWD and transverse engine = FWD?
Easier for the FWD car to have the drive shafts connected if the engine is transverse. RWD needs the drive shaft run to the back so a longitudinal engine mount will make sense; no 90 degree power transfer needed
