I really do love this type of your vlogs where you and your mom eat or talk about random things together. So heartwarming. 😊 Also when you show us Chinese food I often find similarities to our food (Japanese food), it is interesting. Now that we have finally opened our border do you guys have any plans to visit here sometime in the near future? 😃
Yes I agree I've found so many similarities between our foods too. And yes, I'm for sure going to visit again once Michi's health is more stable. 2023 hopefully!
Love these types of videos! So heartwarming and as I grow older, realize how comforting and relatable these are. Not only as r these so heartwarming to watch, it makes for so many amazing memories for you Wah! Imma start taking videos of my parents too just so I have them :) Potential video idea: Would love to hear how your parents went to a Spanish speaking country and then back to CA. I find it so so interesting
i loved this video so much as it brought me back so many fond memories of my mom's traditional Cantonese cooking; and even just the conversation you have with your mom brings a smile to my face; thanks for sharing wah!
I love more Wah’s mum cooking videos!! Those dishes are so homely and looking delicious! The both of you are so cute, always cheers to your food, cutessss
Mmm Chinese donuts, haven't had those in a while!! 🤤 The missing puzzle piece, SO cute! I thought it fell off when you flipped the puzzle. 🤣 I enjoyed watching your mom cook! 👍
I was looking for that piece for HOURS, as you can tell it was right above where sesame's section is so it must've dropped and Sesame didn't hesitate to try it out 😅
i am living for the english subtitles!! XD my cantonese comprehension isn't the best, so really appreciate being able to watch your videos and practice a bit
All that food looks so delicious. I wish I could try some cantonese food around here. 😋Random Question - How could your mom tell that the steam rice rolls were steamed on metal vs cloth? haha I'm also always pretty happy when I save money, find a good deal, or get to use a coupon!
Hi Wah! I loveeee this channel and get so excited whenever you post a new vid and when theres a cameo of the dogoos or buns! Keep up the good work and would love for you to post more vids of food in the sgv area!!!!
I love this. I really miss my mom, I wish she was still here, so watching this warms my heart ❤️. Cherish these moments together. Also, where is that fish steamer from? 🐟
aww such a heartwarming vlog with your mom~ Yin Ji is also a super popular spot in Chinatown, NYC. I'm surprised that SGV location is so much more expensive tho 😯
Love hearing the Toishanese! I grew up speaking Toishanese but whenever my parent go out they speak Cantonese so I can speak Canto with Toishanese accent.
Hi Wah!! My partner and I love watching both you and Weylie. We're both based in Hawaii. I remember when y'all had the meetup at Magic Island. My mom wouldn't let me go LOL, but man I wish I did!! Look fun is my FAVORITE and jung. In Hawaii we call no mai fan... jung and cheung funn... look funn. Or maybe that's just my family? I have always wondered if that's just a Hawaii thing. Also you blew my mind with nagaimo. I bought nagaimo thinking it was the same as yamaimo. We eat yamaimo raw sometimes with ahi (tuna) but when I made it with nagaimo it made my stomach sore. LOL. I would have never thought to put it in a soup! I'm curious what the texture is like when boiled. I always enjoy seeing your perspective and a glimpse into your life when you post videos. - your internet fan/friend krissy 👀
Whattup Krissy! wow that was a loooong time ago! And wow that's interesting, that you guys have different names for it, I don't think there's a right or wrong as long as the person understands it haha! yes nagaimo is VERY good boiled, it's like a potato but it does have a little slime-like texture to it. My favorite way to eat them is hot pot! ♥
A cool thing about Asian cuisine culture is you guys will have a big ass round table with a giant lazy Susan thing in the middle and everyone just rotates it to ge to their side dishes. With Latin cuisine, well at least Mexican food you get individually served. I like this better
I’ve mixed chives and egg together before. My recommendation on how I do it is that I dice the chives first, then whisk the egg, and lastly put the egg with the diced chives to pan fry/stir fry. See if that makes a difference where you get both chives and egg at the same time when you eat it
yes I like that method too! that way the chives aren't separated from the egg, but mama likes chives more than eggs so she likes them separated but still have both flavors
Love seeing your mom. I hope Michi is doing well. So good to see Money too, and she does looked so cool. Some essential oils are not safe for pets. Please check it out.
I would love to see Wah's channel grow because he's really such an authentic foodie and so likeable like Weylie. I'm rooting for you❤️
🥲 that's nice of you, thank you so much! ILY 🌟
love these healthy mother and son relationships 🥺❤️ also wah i hope michi is doing well!!!
thank you so much, she's doing better day by day!
I love when you and Weylie do Cantonese videos!! Bc my Cantonese sucks 😂🥲 Also loved watching the interactions between you and your mama. So sweet ❤️
canto all the way!!

THANK YOU! Weylie always says we're the same height even though she has her chin up when measuring😑
I love this. I really miss my mom, I wish she was still here, so watching this warms my heart ❤️. Cherish these moments together. Also, where is that fish steamer from? 🐟
🫰sending love! The steamer is from Buydeem
Can you drop a link to that diffuser? It’s so calming and beautiful!

Yin Ji is legit. This was a great opportunity for you to pick up more Cantonese vocab while enjoying food with your mom!
Your mom is me. If I can’t use a coupon or kohls cash on my already reduced item at kohls I don’t want it 😂.
Oh this video made me miss my mom back home so much!!!
Corn starch and/or baking soda marinated with the meat to tenderize the meat!
Even as an adult you get lost at kohl’s with mama 😂
Hi Wah, love your vlog as always. What is the brand of the wok your mom was cooking? any recommendation for wok?
OOOOO YES! we recently got this one from Hexclad and it is AMAYYYYYYYZEENG
Hi 😊 I was wondering if you could link the diffuser in your video! It looks super cool! Thanks 😊
it's from the brand Lei! lei-aroma.com/en/
Oh man, my mom made nagaimo soup before and I've never seen a veggie so slimy. She made it like your mom made it!
I’m literally watching this while eating eggs and chives 😊😂
How do you like the Buydeen steamer? Is it worth getting?
I came to Yin Ji Chang Fen right after I watched this!! 😂
LMAO LETS GOOO
Love cantonese food. Where did you guys get the fish steaming container?
the brand is buydeem, they're on amazon too
wow they have Yin Ji in Toronto too!
Where did Lei purchase the Japanese oil diffuser?
Lei is the brand!
@@WahWu Thanks Wah!
Is it odd that I understood your mom better when she said "campesino" instead of the Cantonese word? 😂
HAHAHA! that was my exact same thought when she said she Cantonese word too!
It’s almost dinner time in Japan. You made me hungry again😋. I’m glad Michi is getting better. Is her name Michi came from Japanese word?
Yes! "Child of a Thousand Beauties" apparently
Omg this video is on my recommendation so I watched it…. Now.. I want chungfun😭😭
wow, so good!
Please do more food videos with Mom 💕💕😋😋🙏🙏
Reminds of corn in caldo de rez mmmm
Need to try this place, I’ve been only getting porridge at congee…

Use Baking Soda to tenderize your chicken before you add your marinade.

ahhhh that's the same with Venezuelan food! Individually served, nice observation
@@AlBundyy 🥲🥲🥲 you, are, my, angel...that's the nicest comment I've read ♥

Q&A w/your mom?
12 bucks usd for a bowl of congee…Cali is hella expensive because that’s borderline robbery lol
The prices for the churn fan is absurd!
Is that toisan?!
👍👍👍
Da food🎉
Yummm, can I also Book a Food Tour With you guys? 😇
OMG 银记!广州老字号!
aiyaaa I can't read Chinese ah 🙇🏻

I did not like that yogurt when I got it in the Bay Area. Too tart
yes it is very tart compared to western yogurt
